Put an 8 band EQ and a separate subwoofer control in the Sienna for the dads who want to dial these things in. You're killing me with this 250hz.
You'll need to do it all yourself, oh and upgrade the speakers and the amp as well.

I really wish I could change the sub woofer level independent of other speakers. Meaning a separate control vs generic bass control.
Mids and treble sound totally crisp and clear in the 2019 RAV4 with the JBL premium audio, but bass is severely lacking with the tiny trunk bass driver. I just had to upgrade it to get a full spectrum flat response. If Toyota offered a more expensive option to achieve this from factory I would be ecstatic. Maybe it's too niche of a market to warrant a package option, but that's just my two cents. :)

I absolutely love the JBL audio system in my 2020 Corolla SE sedan. The sound quality is fantastic, the bass is rich and deep. My only complaint is, and I’ve noticed it in other vehicles with the 800-watt system (Camry, RAV4), is that when there’s a lot of steady bass, the music ends up getting quieter, like it’s straining the system. But most songs sound excellent.
Seriously??? I have the 2020 Corolla XSE with JBL and it sounds friggin’ horrible! Very little EQ ability, lack of soundproofing so everything metal rattles, little bass response, distortion and bass rolloff! Absolutely dreadful Toyota!
@@jms7585 So, this is my first car with a “premium” branded audio system. It’s not the best thing ever for sure. The bass rolloff is the worst thing ever. I only have a handful of songs that I notice that with tho, and it’s bad when it happens! However, I do feel the sound quality itself is very good. There’s really good bass response most of the time. It may be the settings I have it on. I always use USB connection with Apple Music. I have also found that the system got better over the years, as the speakers were broken in. When I first got the car, I did a lot of sound deadening around the subwoofer and recently in the front passenger door. Those both helped so much. I do wish the sound deadening was better from factory. But even the Camry and Avalon suffer from rattles with the JBL systems. Idk, overall I’ve been pretty happy with it. I have a ‘23 Venza Limited on order that should arrive by next month, and I’ve tried the Venza’s JBL (1200-watts) and its soooo much better than the ‘Rolla. I’m just happy they brought JBL back as an option. The base sound system in the ‘Rolla now is trash. Also that’s cool you got JBL in your Corolla. I’ve never seen another sedan in my area with it (SE, XLE or XSE!) It seems to be a fairly rare option.

@@jms7585 It can't truly be that bad unless you're used to very high-end stuff, or the amp is a lemon.
@@DefundTheFringes If it’s a setting, it cannot be adjusted (Automatic Sound Lever does not affect the issue). I believe it’s just some sort of overheat protection or something.

Attn: JBL. My only complaint with JBL audio on my 2018 Camry XLE is the poor stereo imaging. It sounds nearly mono because both left and right ears are in line of hearing to both front speakers under windshield and tweeters. If the tweeters were on the doors, this would be less of a problem I suspect and improve the left right isolation.
JBL, are you listening to your customers?
PS. It would be great if you provided a stereo widening option in the settings.
I have the 2023 Tacoma TRD with the JBL, at low sounds it sounds ok, as you rats the volume it levels out and really doesn't perform. As, for imaging and soundstage, I feel it did a great job. Volume wise it lacks, low volumes it performs decent. Overall I feel I will change the speakers, sub and amp along with getting a signal processor.
I have the jbl in the solar octane 23 pro tacoma and I’m not satisfied with the audio at all.

I guess it depends on the vehicle. The 15-speaker JBL system on my 2022 4Runner Limited sounds terrible. There is noticeable high frequency distortion when you crank up the volume. Mid frequency does not sound crisp at all, despite playing with the treble adjustment. Low frequency Bass is strong, but there are more to a music than just bass. My 7 year old Lexus GX stock Pioneer sound system puts the 4Runner JBL to shame.

It's an ok sound in toyota camry, it should be better, like the paper cones in speakers, but it still not good. I 6'5 sub woofer isn't good.
To me consider buy after market cause of material and more

My 2022 highlander basic system sounds better and louder than my 2021 tacoma jbl systems. My jbl stops getting louder at around 45 volume, from 46-max no sound change.

I just bought 2024 RAV4 I was told that it comes with 11 speakers from jbl it didn’t came with 11 speakers and sound so bad
I suspect many people dissing the bass are not accounting for EQ settings, or using a Bluetooth source which degrades the audio.

Yeah it's really great when you have a great jbl for a factory radio that is loud and awesome and then one day it stops working. And no matter what you do you can't figure out how to get it to work again because your not a mechanic or work in audio. Took my car to the dealership and they wanted 4 thousand dollars to replace my jbl in a 2012 Camry!!! Haha. Which I said uh no to. Especially when every now and then my radio turns on works plays music and then cuts back out again. But hey glad to hear that this radio might actually work in newer Toyota vehicles.
Check the wiring that happened on my old Toyota echo. Take the car to a local mechanic or audio techs you trust. 4 grand for a 20 dollar fix 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ the don’t call em stealerships for nothing

JBL is good for the price range but the system is bass heavy. The Bose in the new CRV sounds much better but less bass

I just upgraded from a 2007 4Runner Limited to a 2022 Limited and could not fathom that the controls have not improved at all. JBL Premium sound in each. No eq just std Bass/Mid/Treble? No settings for Rock vs Jazz, etc. Come on JBL.

The Gen 8 Camry's JBL system is extremely lacking. The soundstage is dead front center instead of front surround. The horn tweeters are tuned incorrectly in the 2000-4000hz range creating the uncomfortable ear brain-numb. The rear seat full range drivers sound like they're tuned -12db. And the rear deck panel rattles like mad completely destroying the entire experience (Toyota problem, but come on). Let's also mention that the system is rated at 800 watts with maybe a pure cooper 14 AWG power and ground wire to a tiny amp that mathematically can't carry 800 watts at 13.8 volts DC. So the 8 speaker system is more like 200 watts RMS with unfortunate sub rolloff when turned up. An integrated 9 band parametric equalizer with sub control at the HU under an advanced options menu would have been a much better option instead of fixed DSP in what looks like an amp from the 2000s. Nonetheless, it's standard in the '23 V6 so we'll have to live with it until we install our audiocontrol and alpine premium system that costs 1/3rd the price. I just have to figure out how to de-badge JBL from the interior because they've taken a nose dive since the 90s. Other than that. Great job guys!
I have the Rav4 Prime XSE with JBL I have a bolt 2lt bose and the sound system in the Bolt blows the JBL in the Rav4 Prime away. Just saying. My wife made me give her the Bolt just because of the stereo.

My 2020 corolla hatchback has the jbl sound and it is TRASH, sounds so low, tried a friends corolla with the same jbl and it was the same, volume is too low

JBL + Toyota is a huge failure. It is far from being a Premium Sound System. If we were to rate the typical basic Toyota 6 Speaker audio system it would be a 2.8 out of 10. The JBL moves it from a 2.8 to a 4 out of 10. If you want to know what a real top-notch automobile sound system is like, go sit in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan that scores a perfect 10.
(1= D+, 2 = C-, 3 = C, 4 = C+, 5 = B-, 6 = B, 7 = B+, 8 = A-, 9 = A, 10 = A+).
As you can see Toyota's basic 6 speaker is a C- and with JBL is a C+. For any sound system to be a Premium requires a score of 6 or better.
ELS 3D by Panasonic is a 3.9, and BOSE is a 4.1. So, ELS is not as good as they claim and Bose is slightly better than JBL.
Toyota cannot afford to install a Premium Sound System on any vehicle with an MSRP of under $100K. The upper-tier Lexus brand could install something worthy to obtain a score of 6 or 7.
Toyota just like Honda is making you pay more for a Brand Name, and not a Premium Sound System but a slightly better upgrade.

I don't buy it. The stock JBL in my 2020 4RL needed all new aftermarket JBL (and Infinity Kappa) speakers with my surgical installation techniques to barely sound acceptable. What are you really saving with cheaping out on the sound system? A few ounces in weight with cheesy speakers? The stock JBL speakers are well built speakers made of inferior materials by an approved vendor...so they aren't cheap! I don't know what is being saved by providing a bad sounding stereo.

Все верно - у меня в приусе (XW20) были тяжелые динамики с большими магнитами и они очень круто валили.А на всех следующих поколениях слово JBL в комплектации ничего не значит - малюсенькие легковесные магниты и звук резко уходящий в перегрузку и искажение.
На камри [(XV10 (1991-1996)] или на Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (J90: 1996) стандартные пионеровские блины отыгрывали в 10 раз лучше.
Brand new 2023 Rav4 hybrid Limited. This JBL system is one of the worst I've ever had. My 2013 Highlander Limited is 10x better than this new one and it doesn't have a sub like my Rav4. The SUB seems to be the only source of any mid range and it sounds like the front and rear waves are canceling each other out. Drove a loaner Tacoma with standard radio, was also better than the JBL in my Rav4. I remember when JBL was amazing, not amazing anymore.
Fire this guy! The JBL system sucks ass! No soundproofing and plenty of attenuation to protect garbage equipment! Never buy the upgraded audio! Have a car audio professional put in a quality system if need be!
