    Would be awesome if there would be a comparisson between the Turbos at the same power on these different framesize Turbos while looking specificly at the IAT and EGT, because a smaller Turbo obviously has to work harder for the Same Power and what kind of different that makes?

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  Před 4 lety +4

      The problem with real world back to back comparisons is that it’s just very labour intensive both for fab and tuning and filming and editing. Also hard on a car to get pushed hard.
      We may end up testing 900 and 1050 back to back.

    • @horstigallllable
      @horstigallllable Před 4 lety

      Yes it definitely is and it is also verry cost intensive too. Just seeing those to in comparison may let the results scale up or down for the larger and smaller models of these Series. This will definitely be interesting to see!

    • @boris9331
      @boris9331 Před 4 lety

      For something like this to be a reality, it requires thousands if not 10's of thousands of dollars of capital including parts costs then attempting to recoup cost of parts on resale. If the people who are interested in such back to back comparisons would work together to fund something, it can happen and you'll have all the data on you.
      Sometimes smaller is not exactly better as it can choke a motor up too much.

    Ive built the car for drifting but id love to get my hands in on some drag racing aswell and some highway pulls in mexico.
    ive got my eyes slightly set on the G30-770 but its closer to a GT3076 sized turbo (im running a GT3582)
    so then im curious about the G30-900, as its closer to a GT3582 with a smaller exducer and from everything ive gathered, keeping the inducer the same, and making the exducer smaller only increases response, so a G30-900 is like a GT3582R that spools a bit faster? (am i correct? please chime in anyone who knows!)

      @@mikereed1096I mean the gt3582 inducer on compressor side is almost the same but exducer is bigger than the G30-900. Also the turbine side of the G30-900 is a lot smaller. This turbo should spool lot quicker than a gt3582r.

    Pardon if dumb question but, would e98 be considered race gas?

      E98 is E98. 🤷‍♂️ but it’s not from a bowser at a gas station, so then yes, considered race gas.

    Example: If you are looking for 400-500hp at 1 bar, you need to read the maps correctly: 10:09 -> Look @ 95.000 shaft rpm speed on GTX30 vs G30-660 map, you will see the "old design" GTX30 is capable of soooooo much MORE FLOW @ 95K than the new G30 660 - This need to be understood correctly instead short headliners of trim and efficiency. You need to ask yourself why the G30-660 makes barely above 0.5 bar boost @95K rpm, where as the GTX30 makes way above 1 bar boost and way beyond 40 lbs- that is crazy more quick spool-up from the older GTX30 compressor with larger compressor exducer - AND take notice - it is on the same turbine wheel diameter with 1 extra turbine blade. So add to the much quicker spooling compressor (read the map!) on the old GTX30, the added spool-up on top from 1 extra blade added on the old GTX30 turbine wheel. Ask yourself what you are after, top end power or spool-up. The G30-660 will demand for 15K more rpm on the shaft/turbine wheel to get on same 50lbs flow compared to the GTX30 (see map), how much engine rpm do you think that transfers to on a drift car if both turbos would have the 9 blades turbine wheels for 1:1 comparison :-)

    I wanted to use garret on my build but I hate there names, the numbers didn’t represent anything to person who doesn’t know the brand, precision 6766 front housing 67mm rear 66mm so simple to understand, from compressed size it’s easy to work out what kinda power it will make. Ohw and if you love the HKS T51R sound precision will give you that.

    So if I put a g35 900 on my diahatsu Mira it will make 900hp right?
    I get they are trying to rename turbos and all but doing away with trim sizes doesn't help. Wish someone would innovate a proper recommendation chart instead (ie engine cfm to rpm ratio)
    Every Japanese tuner has proven every garret is better suited to trucks than high revving engines.
    Just compare every trust turbo vs an identical trim sized garret. Same trim sizes, different blade angles and its night and day.
    If you just want a peak number sure, save yourself the $200, but if you drive around a corner use tuner experience

    Andrew, surely you don't believe there's 100hp loss through the R32 GT-R drive train when in RWD only and on a HUB dyno, so no wheel & tyre mass to accelerate and "absorb" power, no tyre distortion, no rolling resistance. Just a gearbox, tail shaft, two drive shafts and hubs. If they require 100hp to rotate them they must be made of solid lead!
