  • I'm on the trail in Oregon and on the hunt for my next project. I make some friends and help strip a parts truck for a worthy cause all while rocking a mini truck from the early 90s.

Thanks for helping Dave! I am surprised the crane did not fold up. That is a crap ton of weight for that crane.... I have to admit I was cringing when you guys were trying to separate the motor and tranny with force, I knew there were some bolts holding it together on the inside of the flywheel case...

Ohhhh bending the flexplate a little bit is no big deal hahaha

@@yertnamreg we did invite Sean out for the weekend, right? That could have been some useful information right there... LOL! Heck, it turned out just fine. And now, we, and everyone that watched also knows about the bolts inside the flywheel case. :-) We win!

Trey, it was so nice to have you out. Thanks for being such a good sport with the "homeless guy with a sign" skit to start things off on my video.
The sketchy driving was because the CAT 3116 engines are have so much low end torque, they just want to go. I was standing on the brakes the whole time, which was difficult to keep on an even pressure.
Great that you got the backside of the story and fill in a few details that I didn't get to film. As with every CZcams video, it slows down the process to a crawl.
The front axle video of mine will be out on Monday or Tuesday of this week. You are welcome back anytime! Cheers!

if it has the twin plugs.... then it is a NAPS-Z engine.... based on a Hemi head design. All CA models up thru around time of that truck had the twin plugs. actually a pretty sweet engine.

Wow! I had no idea. When I saw the dual plugs I knew it had to be a little special.

I'm not sure what the airline would think of me carrying lmtv parts hahaha

He is already bringing back a bunch of lubricants, scars, and bruises. LOL! We'll see in a couple of weeks if I treated him nice enough that we can get the transmission out. You are welcome to come, too!

What kind of crane is that on Dave's truck?
Link or model number would be great.
