I have said it before and shall say it again, what a joy it is to watch and listen to you. You are obviously a very talented golfer but you also to be a lovely human being. I find your vlogs a never-ending source of enjoyment and helpful instruction. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much!!! đ
Hear hear!
I always enjoy your vlogs. You really golfed your ball that day.
Happy New Year!
Thanks Gen, your vlogs give so much course and mental management!
Wishing you the very best of 2021!
Great video Gen. thank you for taking the time to put it together. Wow, your short game is exceptional and I really enjoy hearing your commentary and execution on those shots. Happy New Year too.
Thanks Gen! Trying the app next week. Happy new year đ„łđ„ł
Well done Gen....that's a long and difficult course and you played it very well. You should be very proud of yourself. Wish you continued success....Happy New Year!
Awesome video and great round from the blacks! I love all the stats and the on course commentary and logic as to why you chose a club and where you decided to aim.
That was amazing golf Gen. Learning a lot. Please keep making more videos!
Gen, I love watching you play, your tempo inspires my own swing. Your ball striking ability is great to watch but you save the most shots on and around the greens, so many tap in pars! You are a putting machine. It is very evident how much time you dedicate to your game. Thanks for making 2020 more bearable!
thank you for posting this...gives me inspiration. my stock yardages are almost the same as yours but I have never even thought about playing from the tips. you just showed it was possible and that you are capable of shooting good scores. especially with your great short game!
Thank you for sharing Gen. All in all, I'd say that you played a great round of golf, especially from the black tees. :-)
You have a great swing but I think your attitude is a huge part of your success. "Be your own best friend on the course'. Good for you, Gen.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you Genevieve & everyone else regular on your channel!! We all share a common love of golf & golf with a smile!!! đđđ
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! đ„ł
I'm really starting to reevaluate my game after watching your channel so much. On most days I would be hitting my 5i as far as your 5w, but I cant even break 80 most days from 6100 yards :( I think slowing my tempo down a bit and really working on accuracy is going to be key for me in 2021.
Solid ball striking đŻ đŻ you make it look so easy hitting nice crisp shots off wet soft turf with zero bounce.. your a boss đ
Genevieve, your short game is absolutely outstanding!
The up and down on #2 was so solid....
The up and down on #3 for birdie from 113yds was tight ....
The up and down on #4 was smooth....
The up and down on #6 was dynamite đ§š.....
The 2 putt on #7 with that distraction was great focus....
Nice up and down on #8 .....
Super solid par on #9 .......
Awesome 1 under par front 9 , all because of your lpga caliber short game .....â€ïž
Gen you are playing like a beast! Keep up all the hard work, it is paying off!
Thank you so much!! đ
Watching you shoot even par on a 7k yard course while driving it 220 to 240 was masterful. You hit the ball about as far as I did when I played golf, so I know how hard it is to score well when you lack big distance on a long course. Just awesome.
cant be upset with even par from the back tees. Beautiful!
This was cool to see how you went about playing these longer distances. And I am sure this helps out just as much as playing from the front tees!! And we can all learn from you just to play our game and not try to do too much!! Happy New Years!!
It really makes the course different but it was fun! Happy New Year to you! đ
My NYâs resolution is to finally replace my 20+ year old irons and hit more consistent yardages with them (longer and more consistent dispersions). Iâll aim to play more local competitions and again improve the way I manage my game and the courses I play. Iâm try doubly hard to keep playing with a clear mind (Zen golf) and stay in every shot! Thanks Gen for a all your videos in 2020 - look forward to seeing more of them again this year!
Hi Gen.A Very Fine Vlog.Btw Youre Camera Is Soo Clear. Fine Golf Course To. Good Luck To You For 2021. Stay Safe Bye.
Great vlog Gen. The course looks fab - especially looking from tbox on 5. Driver looks awesome! Black tees suit youđȘ
Great video & discussion of your stats! Thanks!âł
Nice golf Gen. Iâve noticed for the past few months that youâre developing good vastus lateralis leg muscles, which must be due to your gym work. These are important for tennis pros, but lady pro golfers have also been developing these recently too. Certainly helps your core stability through point of impact. đđđȘđŹ
That app is almost as impressive as your swing. Great vlog Gen! iÂŽm still loving the bucket hat intro shot over the lake. Waddacourse, Waddaplaya, Waddalife. Wadda Happy New Year! :)
Hehe! Thanks, Alan. Happy New Year!! đ
Really enjoyed this video. Love how you assess the course management aspect of the game. For most of us men amateurs this is the type of style we should emulate. Like you I tend to aim a little right and play a draw. My biggest leak is with the driver. Just don't get enough distance compared to my iron carry distances which are comparable to yours. End up with too long of a second shot on par 4's. Any advice for the driver? I think because I practice almost every day hitting irons I put too much back spin on the ball. Usually very little roll.Hitting the driver farther would definitely help lower my scores. Great shot with that 3 wood!
Happy New Year Gen, from a dedicated watcher.
Your confidence and skill with the 3 wood is inspiring. So much power and accuracy from those clean strikes -brilliant!
The other thing i noticed this time is that your short irons always take a large divot... Do you ever play on hard baked courses where this isn't possible, and do you have to adjust?
Keep up the high quality play and content! đđđŸđđżđ€đŸ
Great play from the black tees. You are a monster gen! Liked the app also! Love the vlog!
Thanks Charles! đ
There is nothing illegal about moving those loose impediments at 28:00. As long as your ball doesn't move in the process. Move them with your hand, foot, or leaf blower.
Waddaround! I found myself cheering for you, as if it was tournament play. 27 putts is great and your short game spot on (typical for you). I thought your drives really helped, bring on tourney play, Gen is ready ! my favorite video. My stats would be simple, did I hit ball solid? Did it stay in or near fairway? Did I avoid 3 putt, lol.
The course looked really beautiful today! Nice intro of the golf app.
It really did, huh! Thank you! đ
Nice round! Beautiful TPC
Very controlled round - I like how you took long distances in stride and didnât overswing. I wish I could teach myself to follow your example
I actually had to remind myself NOT to try and swing it harder! You do immediately get tempted to try and smash it but a little shorter on the fairway is still A LOT better than a little longer from the rough! đ
What a magnificent view from the tee box of hole #5.
I always get at least one good tip out of watching your videos and Matt's videos.. Thanks
Fantastic round. Great display of discipline in the face of a loooong course. Only a few mental errors (your honesty is awesome) which is a thing I aspire to
Thanks Ian! We all make mental errors. If we don't, we're not human đ
Have a great 2021 Gen. I played in the UK this morning 1st January. It was -3 and the greens were frozen. Did you ever play in such conditions. Keep up the great video's.
WaddaBlackTeeboxPlaya! That approach shot on #12 was out of this world!
Hehe thank you, Bob! đ
Wow!!..intro was like Jason Bourne's next assignmentđđđ
Have a look at shot scope it automatically collects all club distances and chipping and putting etc. Excellent video and explanation. Small river is a stream or creek.
Nice app. Enjoy your videos
Thank you for letting me live vicariously through you...it's snowing here as I watch this. đ«
Well I'm glad you get to mentally (pretend) you're playing golf with me đ
@@GenevieveLingGolf gives me good perspective on how to view the course (when I do get out there again). Thanks for all the great content, and Happy New Year!
Hi Gen - great content as always . Q - Are you using the Shot Tracer App in your Blogs
Hi Gen, enjoying the golf videos and also the music! Please can you tell us more about the music some stage too...!? Darrle Records and Tiem Thuc have been added to my soundtrack whilst I work on lowering my handicap!
Hey Genevieve, you have a lovely approach to the game. You said it was illegal to move the loose "duff" under the trees. As long as you did not move the ball and were not building a stance, this is legal to my knowledge.
It's just a joy watching her play golf to me at least that's how I see it.
Your swing reminds me of Jin Young Ko , so smooth.
Good job on such a long round. I am curious to know when you expect to start your journey to the LPGA?
great swing. good luck.from london uk.
Gen, if you slightly close your 3-5 woods....you'll swoop it right to left! Your club face is open causing a push right.
Gene what flight tracker are you using if you dont mind me asking :) great channel!
Wow. Commendable round of golf off the Blacks. KLPGA will be a cinch after this.
You maintain your tempo despite the longer holes. We (Amateurs) tend to swing faster/harder and lose shape & compromise strike....
Love the stats and app.
I had to remind myself NOT to hit it harder! You definitely immediately have a tendency to want to hit it harder when you see a hole that is super long but I had to remind myself that being on the fairway is better than being in the rough (especially when you have a wood into the green)! đ
You were smashing Driver eh ! ! !
I used to keep stats 25 years ago. Now I just check to see which holes I make the most bogies on and see if I can improve on the holes. Predictably they are long par 3's with significant hazards and long par 4's I need to hit a long club into. Holes that I am unlikely to improve on. So I focus on making birdies on the short holes.
Tech today sure can be useful. Myself, I'm lucky if I remember to write down the score.
OK. I will try the app.
great round
I actually liked longer courses as a youth. My long irons, 4-5-6, were better than my short ones, 9, PW.
I use Arcoss, keeps track of score and places your shot automatically with the sensors. Has all the stats compared to different handicaps like scratch or tour pro. I like it but the only problem is it eats up ton of battery from the GPS. Make sure to have car charger after the round heh
Happy New Year Gen! Let's hope 2021 doesn't suck too!
What do you mean, 'too?'
east or west TPC ! having seen each & every of your Ep, guess if ever i visit KL and play in TPC wont need a guide or caddie coz know every bunker every hazard every tree đđđ
Hehehe đ
Hi Gen, another great video. Thanks. Just letting you know, I seem to be an issue getting to the page you shared. May just be an issue on my end! Happy New Year!
You need to use your phone when you click on the link because it's the link to a phone app! đ Happy New Year to you too!!
Might be the camera angle, but it seems shoulder line is angled slightly left of foot line. See what you think. As always, a beautiful swing!
Any chance you could make a video about what's currently in your bag?
cant speka for this particular app but can definiteyl say the Arcoss on my Cobras have been really useful in getting information without too much effort that does help me plan out my game
Ending 2020 big! đ Have a big and Happy New Year 2021 Gen!đđ»đ«
Hehe thank you and Happy New Year Jim!! đ
Great round Gen
A technical point, you have been talking a lot about aiming right but your shoulders seem to be straight so it seems to be your step when you set up. I'm in no position to offer any coaching but maybe someone, more qualified, can comment on that... This is more of a draw set up without drawing, you may be constricting yourself...
Secondly regarding your dispersion, and I don't know whether your app does this anyway, I think there are a couple of the shots you need to exclude from the averages - the 18th tee shot for example will skew the average - it was a mishit rather than your 'mode' average.
Another interesting point is you need to determine whether you are hitting the ball right or just aiming right and actually hitting where you are aiming. The difference is if you change your swing because your dispersion is right or you adjust your aim because you're hitting the ball where you are aiming....
Hi Gen, great golf. How old are you and what are your aspirations?
Really admire how smooth your driver swing is. Whats your swings thoughts when ur hitting driver ? Are you thinking faster / harder ? Sweeping ? Any differences with irons ?
Thank you! I don't try to do anything different with my driver swing. I think that because of the length of the club you will just naturally swing it a little different (aka flatter/sweepier/whatever you would use to describe itđ)
New favorite word-chunkaroony
You should check out the Taylormade myRound pro app. Completely free and it has ALOT of features, shots, putts, distances, playing off a pro/handicap mode to name a few. and the app looks very well defined. Wishing you a very happy new year ! hopefully I could get a round with you if i'm back im Malaysia. could learn alot from you.
Gen, you moved and cleaned your ball on the second fairway. Naughty ;-)
It was lift clean and place....she forgot to tell us....good catch.
Great posture great setup at address! You tend to straighten the angle of your right knee in the backswing. This will alter the club path, could be fitness issue, leg strength. Look at Lee6 for example on video. Maintains the knee angle as she loads in the backswing. Just a thought.
Dean if you didn't realize most golf pros straighten the rear knee to facilitate extension in the back swing. Yes you can play without much flex but this is not how the hips are designed to move and will stress the right hip joint. Long term it is not a good idea unless you want injuries and a short career.
@@lltb67 Sorry I wasn't talking about most pros, none of the top 10 players on the LPGA straighten that knee, none. No doubt causes higher stress but not sure how concerned about longevity they are since many are ranked top 10 in the world before they are 22.
The view at 9:10 is beautiful.
don't you get relief from fire ants?.....this is a great mental exercise for all us! We called this our usopen crash and burn since the USopen was about watching the best players being smacked by the USGA... You need to mentally adjust and not be overwhelmed by the yardages...you'll hit more hybrids and woods....I like to do this once or twice per year when it's a bit drier and my 210 carry drives aren't plugging like now....I love her fantastic turn...ah to be young and flexible...
your swing is like text book, but your legs are my favorite. Loving them much
I need to step up my 6&5 iron game
Those 2 are my second shot most of the time
Unless your clubs are wrongly fitted, working your way up starting from chipping with the right technique should progressively help the rest of your game! I don't really believe in working specifically on 1 or 2 irons. If they really feel different from the rest of your clubs, consider a hybrid or maybe getting them fitted! (especially if you hit every club good other than those 2!) In general of course they will not be as solid as say, hitting a 9 iron but they should still feel good! đ
I'm curious, what is the purpose of that large fan behind the green at 2:05?
29:20. "creek" or "stream" are good words for a baby "river" and often used in golf course design.
Yesss creek was the word I was looking for, thank you!!
HI Gen, i have been your Big Big fan and subscriber since 2020, and so looking forward to meet you in person. Myself and my best mates -TC and Hanson would like to golf with you for 1 game. LINK doesn't work.
Really learned a lot from this video. Never try to over power a hole, you don't take bigger risks when your next show is still reachable. Thank you! Happy New Year!
You need to use a phone! đ And exactly!! Happy New year to you too!
Just a FYI, the upgame link is returning 'Site Not Found' for me, I am in europe if that has anything to do with it failing. Is the link working for others?
What kind of shot tracking app... do you use?
Surprised you don't use a Garmin golf watch. It does all this
Please donât take this the wrong way because your English is better than any 2nd language Iâll ever know. But when you said river I think you meant stream or creek. We all knew what you meant but thought you might like to know.
Stream - A small natural waterway, larger than a brook, but smaller than a creek. Creek - A medium natural waterway, larger than a stream. Often a tributary to a river. â
Looks like you are getting more distance from your driver today. What do you think?
I've been working on it đ
What kind of irons do you use?
Can we have a session to know how you maintain the clubsđ€
What do you mean by maintain the clubs?
@@GenevieveLingGolf like how to keep the golf club in a great condition, like cleaning them? Polish them? đ€Ł
Another super video... just maybe donât tell us the outcome of each shot until youâve finished it đ
Haha sorry, some of the audio did not line up with the video correctly đŹ
I'll tell you the outcome at the beginning of the whole vlog.
Just about NEVER a bogey.
Since this has been almost 7 months since this video, would you be able to share your stats?
Morning Gen. đđđđ€âïž. Is there an App. (FREE), that measures distance? A range finder that's FREE that I can download?
TIA. LOVE THE VIDEO BLOGS!!!!

You look different today? Did you play in any competitions?
How different? đ§ No competitions to play in.. :(
he meant , you look much more beautiful this year.

Biggest Takeaway on this video. Playing back eliminates most of the hazards off the tee. Generally wider landing areas which means hitting the next shot from the fairway. It showed in your game that not having to worry about narrow landing areas or bunkers/water off the tee made you more aggressive. Think everyone can take a lot from this video.
