Improving Scoring WHILE You Are Playing By Identifying Trends

  • ANYBODY CAN PLAY WELL WHEN EVERYTHING IS GOING WELL AND YOU ARE FEELING GREAT. HOWEVER, WHAT CAN YOU DO ON DAYS WHEN THIS IS NOT THE CASE?
    Hello party people!
I hope you guys enjoy this video. Firstly, you get to see no-sleep, less energetic Gen. And you also get to see Gen run all over the place because apparently no-sleep Gen can't see where her tee goes LOL 😂
In all seriousness, sometimes, we focus so much on scoring and forget that we are still playing golf RIGHT NOW and still have holes to play. Instead of doing that, pay attention to YOUR GAME rather than what you're shooting at the moment in time. Doing this allows you to progressively IMPROVE WHILE you're playing rather than having to go home and think about why you didn't think of that when you were on the golf course, but only once you're done and submitted your score card 🤦🏻‍♀️ The more you practice and know your OWN GAME, the more you will be able to not only identify trends but to then fix them then and there on the spot, while you're playing. Fixing them might not mean a technical fix, but it could be simply implementing a new swing thought that can fix the problem while you are on the golf course.
You might be thinking.. so I've noticed that I have been hitting 5 drives to the right after 5 holes....but now what, Gen? Well, as I said, the more you practice and know your own game, the more you will be able to identify what you need to do. Everybody will have tendencies on the golf course. Sometimes it might even take some experimentation to figure out what works for different situations.
First step: Pay attention to YOUR game
    Second step: Identify trends
Third step: Implement something to fix the wayward trend then and there (experiment! once you have done this enough, you will be able to fix your game on the golf course next time, when you are facing similar tendencies)
Have an open mind, don't be afraid to experiment, and have fun! 😊

I love your temperament, even when you nearly cut the ball in half out of the bunker the only sign that you were a little mad was the speed you got out of the bunker, I’m learning a lot from you on how to keep calm when it’s “one of those days” instead of stomping around for 2 or three holes after a bad shot😅

@@GenevieveLingGolf Thanks again for your very useful and highly encouraging tips. I need to improve my three-quarter swing further to full swing like yours. That is my new year resolution. Yours seem to be about twice 360 degrees in total allowing for follow through . Right? My 3 wood, 7 wood and hybrids (3h 22 deg and 6h 28 deg) are working nicely in fairways. Approach shot is with 7 iron down to S Iron. Odyssey 2 ball putter length cut by 1.5 inch for my height working nicely. I have a 2 m practice mat at home for daily practice. I also say bits of rosary between shots. All helps. God bless and Happy New Year.

Doing a video while playing can be hard on your game also. You're definitely more tired. And then factor in fatigue from lack of sleep. And recovering from training. So you handle it very well. With your calm disposition to your positive response to off shots. All in all good game. Keep up the good work and videos! Love em.

Very good commentating and getting through the problems. What do you think about the practice of playing, or focusing on 3 holes at a time when the rhythm seems a little off? Basically it’s a way of grouping the round in smaller chunks to have quick goals and theoretically mainrain the concentration or strategy process for just 3 holes at a time.

Or, I've noticed more micro vids on CZcams, so how about something like the 13th tee shot, holding the image after the tee lands and fade in your banner above you then fade to black? Same music as your intro? So a micro intro? Just a thought. Maybe I should check your Instragram first, lol.

I always go past horizontal haha! I have quite a long swing. I'm just flexible so when I try to shorten it, my tempo runs off because it doesn't feel like i've completed my swing!

Gen, great video. I am not sure what is the agreement with your flight mate but that guy in grey is always hitting your ball back even when its given, within a putter length. To me, that's annoying. Every practice should be played like in a tournament especially for professionals like you.....imagine missing a 3 feet putt in real!

In the slow mo it seemed your right arm was slightly chicken winginging if there is such a word. This is different from your normal swing. Mike

On hole 15 I am confused. Why did you have 182 yards on your 3rd shot? That means you only went about 350 total on your first 2 shots. But your drive looked fine and then it looked like maybe a hybrid on your second that was also fine.

    • @GenevieveLingGolf
      @GenevieveLingGolf  Před 3 lety

It's a very confusing hole because it's such a big dogleg so when you don't hit it down the right slope, you get stuck with a very long shot. It's just quite a confusing hole to explain in general, but I can see how it would look odd 😅

Must be nice if your biggest problem is finding your tee after your drive. I could care less about the tee because I'm too concerned about the $5 ProV1 I just snap hooked off the planet.

You can't keep showing that iconic rock formation without the "local" legend or story behind it. I'm sure they used to perform rituals or at least throw people off there.

It really seems like you were feeling pressure from the groups behind just watching it. You rarely watched the entire flight of your ball. Must have been crowded. Hate that feeling.

Gen, if you want to know what it's like for the ball not to fly so far try a winter over here! It's 8 degrees today! 😂😂😂 And that';s warm!
Seriously though, as we are playing once a week winter golf it means every spring is a swing rebuild. Can you imagine that every year you spend 2 or 3 months trying to rebuild a swing, a short game and a putting stroke begfore you can play good golf again.

@@jtwrc I've been in New York on my birthday in April and it snowed real hard for a few days. It's tough if you live up north. I was going to play Bethpage in 2002 and every course on Long Island was closed the entire week I was there.
On the plus side I got to see the last Lunar Module that was made before it got cancelled. I'll tell you what, seeing that made me realise just how big American balls are! I hope I can go back again in a couple of years.
