Thanks very much and I'm also happy with the way it came out. This is the reason why I love wood turning because you can never tell what it's going to look like at the end.
I imagine the smell was great turning this! I have a few suggestions: I would not have used plywood as part of the construction but rather would have laminated some colorful strips together. I would have stopped the video a few times so we could have seen the progress. Some of your later shots were out of focus. Otherwise, a nice result.
This video popped up on my feed. First visit to your channel. First time watching one of your videos. I decided to subscribe simply because I've never seen anyone wood turn cinnamon before. The cinnamon have a very unique appearance to your design and I'm a huge fan of anything unique. I'm excited to see more. Very nicely done. 👌
Wow Jojo! How ingenious. The cinnamon sticks leave such an interesting design. I may have to get my brother to cast me a blank with those in it. Incredible my friend. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic outcome. Only preference would have been hearing the work being done without music. More of a feeling being there watching over your shoulder. Also just subscribed, first time on your channel. Like the woodturning videos.
Another brilliant job Jojo, where on earth did you get that much cinnamon from and can you smell it or has the resin completely enclosed it, if you could get enough of it a bowl just made from that cinnamon would look amazing
Thank you very much. Just got it from our local grocery store bought 3 bags of it and it sure did gave a pleasant aroma the whole time I was turning it. Cheers - Jojo
Hello JoJo. A very beautiful, exceptional individual piece made up of several elements. Perfectly turned and beautifully sanded. The high-gloss finish is a bit too shiny for me, I prefer it to be a little more naturally matt, but well, that's my taste. But that doesn't detract from the quality of your work. I have another tip for you if you are interested: It is more interesting for the viewer if you hold the lathe in between and show us an interim result. This way you can better understand what you are doing. Greetings from northern Germany, take care and stay healthy, Schorschi
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and constructive feedback. Sometimes it's hard to include those parts of the video when you try to limit its entire duration. But I will keep it in mind. Thanks.
Full watch Jojo😊. A question, does the epoxy give off any fumes, after curing, when you are tooling it? It surely allows you to do some really beautiful things!
Thanks for the full watch , really appreciate it 😊. Based on my experience, fumes are really strong while mixing it so it's advisable to use a mask for chemicals/gas. When it's cured like after 4 to 5 days, you can still smell the resin but not as strong so I still protect myself by wearing mask and overall from head to toe knowing that I'm allergic to it. Things that we do for our passion ☺️😊☺️
Beautiful bowl Jojo, relaxing music. one thing I found out with epoxy bowls, you need every tool you own when you make one. Question, what is the white finish you are using?
Thank you Darren. I agree with you that's why when I turn epoxy resin I used carvide most of the time since it doesn't get dull easily. For the finishing I used Total boat rubbing compound followed with Total shine finishing compound. Stay safe Cheers - Jojo
How many pounds of Christmas candy did you binge on to come up with this inspiration? Whatever, the results were phenomenal. Outstanding vision and craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing.
Coming up with an original idea is becoming a lot harder with more talented woodturners these days. Turning this idea into a reality and the way it came out makes all the effort worthwhile. Thank you for watching and for your kind words. I'm happy to share and please check out the rest of my projects on my channel which you might like as well. Happy New Year 🎉
Thank you for watching and for your kind comment. The pressure pot will push out the bubbles inside the resin while it's curing. You don't want those bubbles trapped inside the crivases on your project that's why I tried to max it to 60 psi. Some also use a vacuum pot to sucked the air out. I have them both but I prefer to use the pressure pot most of the time. Happy New Year 🎉
Love the design of this JoJo and I bet the workshop smelt lovely with the smell of cinnamon. Superb project mate ..👌 Ps also thinking of changing my channel name too to try and reflect some of the other stuff I do Cheers mate , Bram
Thank you Bram and yes the garage smells good at least this time. I've been thinking about changing my channel name for awhile until I heard the song One Day at a Time by Merle Haggard recently. After listening to the tune and lyrics, I knew that I finally found the right name then and there. Cheers - Jojo
Beautiful combination of scraps, log and resin. I see a lot of people using resin in their work, what happens to all of the waste from it? Is it recyclable or biodegradable, or…?
Thank you for watching and I'm glad that you like it. You have a very good question and a good point. I don't think the resin waste is recyclable or biodegradable unless I collect it and incorporate it on the next project .
Thank you for your kind comment and for watching. Unfortunately I'm allergic to resin so I have to protect myself every time I work on it. Cheers - Jojo
Thanks for watching. If you are referring to the resin, I actually used silver, gray and red. Unfortunately the red swirl didn't show much at the end. Cheers - Jojo

Fantastic! I really love all the character you created with the materials you used. So beautiful.
Thanks very much and I'm also happy with the way it came out. This is the reason why I love wood turning because you can never tell what it's going to look like at the end.

This is awesome, one question. I have never done anything with resins, why the pressure cooker?
