As someone who drove a lot of these it’s the gun belts that rip apart the vinyl in the seats. The switch has to do with the rear door. The light is red if it’s unlocked. The switch locks the rear door. It was an escape point for prisoners. A lot of times the rear seats are removed prior to sale for use in other vans if they end up breaking or falling apart.
I’m not positive but this thing may have been our impact van back in 2007. That number is very familiar. We contemplated getting it washed but decided the dirt was probably holding it together. I think that switch locked/unlocked the rear doors

46 pct in the Bronx still has a black unmarked 2007 E150. I saw it all summer picking up unregistered Mopeds.
