1.6 THP Forge alloy boost pipe (FMHP207) installation 🥰 🔧🛠

Installing the Forge alloy boost pipes (also known as hard pipes, product FMHP207) wasn't an easy fit on the EP6CDT 1.6 THP engine of the Peugeot 3008.

The inlet pipe didn't fit well, as it's diameter was a bit wider than the stock pipes. The outlet pipe had to be modified so it would fit and even than it still
was quite hard to install. The outlet pipe was a very easy and fast job to install.
The pipes become extremely hot when not driving, so it would need some more protection against the engine heat...
PSA replacement parts: 1440J0 and 1440J1.
The actions shown in this video are (should be) in basic the same for all cars with the 1.6 Prince engine (1.6 THP/Puretech).
For example:

L'installation des tuyaux de suralimentation en alliage Forge (également connus sous le nom de tuyaux durs, produit FMHP207) n'a pas été facile à installer sur le moteur EP6CDT 1.6 THP de la Peugeot 3008.
Le tuyau d'entrée ne correspondait pas bien, car son diamètre était un peu plus large que les tuyaux d'origine. Le tuyau de sortie a dû être modifié pour qu'il s'adapte et même qu'il reste
était assez difficile à installer. Le tuyau de sortie était un travail très facile et rapide à installer.
Les tuyaux deviennent extrêmement chauds lorsqu'ils ne conduisent pas, il faudrait donc plus de protection contre la chaleur du moteur ...
Pièces de rechange PSA: 1440J0 et 1440J1.
Les actions montrées dans cette vidéo sont (devraient être) à la base les mêmes pour toutes les voitures avec le moteur 1.6 Prince (1.6 THP/Puretech).

The compressed air by the turbo is very hot. This is why intercooler is used to make it cooler. If you use alloy pipe, you will make the air hotter. Prince motors produce high temperature due to high pressures inside. Maybe this is why stock pipes are not metal. Metal pipes will be hotter so the air flowing inside. This will reduce the combustion efficiency. What is the use of alloy pipe? maybe other than esthetic purpose? I could not give a meaning to this modification

Plastic or silicone/rubber pipes Will expand rather than metal. Besiddes, metal has a better heat distribution

ı also agree with you. In adittion, as we like see, stock pipes has a spesifical shape for a more air flow i think. Cause stock pipe, has a different diameter and other diemension on it different areas. No doubt it would help to more efficient air flow.

are you using grease to install the last pipe ?
and the connect position was excatly right ?
cause i have here some trouble by a 308 1.6thp

HI, Thanks for the video! I am guessing by the fat there is oil in your intercooler pipes, and oil in mine. This is a normal thing and not actually a problem !?

I'm not familiar with this engine, why is there a map sensor before the throttle ? Normally a map-sensor is in the plenum after the throttle?

It would be better to install and chip tune afterwards. I have to do it as well (tune again), but want to upgrade the intercooler and turbo first.

When looking at the 308 gt or gti its a total diffrent block. But yours seems the same as my 308

Yes that could be. It all depends on building year of the car. If you have a stock 150, 156 or 175hp engine they will be the same.

There isnt one. I have placed my 208 on a dyno with stock air filter and k and n one. Lost 9 bhp with k and n ! Stock made 212bhp . K and n made 203 ! The forge hard pipes heat up too much with afew dyno runs again no difference. The big performance uogrades are de cating and new exhaust. Intercooler. And a map or blue spark chip . 265 bhp i get in mine now with a chip. Intercooler air tec. Decar scorpion exhaust.
