@@yzr3681I have the 7800xt. I use Adrenaline to reduce voltage to 1050mv and - 10% power. I want to know if I can do better than this.

Thanks so much Fabio! Looking forward to a 7800 XT tutorial 🙏🏼

very useful video, thx man

amazing thank you
Can you do such a guide for the 7800xt? ❤
I can of course 💪💪
@@AncientGameplays Pretty please!
These comments make 0 sense. They all use the exact same software. He made all the how to videos for like every RX 6000 and most 7000. Just look at those and this and you will have more than enough knowledge to do it for the cards he didn't do in the same generation. Should be common since after that. Your card numbers may be different because all is not equal.
@@forog1 true, but I guess it also serves for new users coming to the channel 💪
@@AncientGameplayswould be awesome if you can

Thank YOU as well
Just a heads up for some people, dont just expect to get higher fps because of a higher clock speed, specially while tweaking minimum frequency. I've experienced messing with the overclock and noticed fps loss while increasing the clock speed by like 200mhz, this seems relatable with the voltage and silicon. Just saying always check the fps before/after tunning. Also if you only get 1% improvement while consuming 50+ watts more just undervolt instead, OC aren't very good nowadays...
That's because you end up hitting your power limit
Nothing new. I gained 10% on my 7800xt, so I consider that well worth it
did you increase your power limit?
Went from an r5 3600x/5700xt to r7 5700x/7800xt last week and HOLY SWEET FUCKING PERFORMANCE.
It's so great to finally be able to turn most games up from med/high@2k60fps to high/ultra@2k144+fps
I think I had the same problem when moving the vram clock speed, I was using msi afterburner with this exact model and I spent the whole morning trying to boot into safemode to uninstall the afterburner and it's settings...
at least now I have something to guide myself trying to improve my gpu performance, ty for the video❤
Even on the minimal Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 7700 XT without even touching VRAM settings I got a solid +8% after multiple Furmark2 runs. Thank you!
I was doing the undervolt + max power thing on my 6700 XT, and the only game that showed problems was Star Citizen. That game played fine for an hour or so, then my whole system froze. On stock settings it plays absolutely fine. The voltage setting I used was what I got from the undervolt suggestion Adrenalin gave me.
Guess I should try that setting, and then bump it up by some 10mV? Though tbh it seems like I failed the silicon lottery - stock the voltage is 1200mV, the suggested undervolt is... 1175.
Even if I put 1015mV, and the card needs more, it takes more at least it does to me on beta drivers
I hope it's not just a bug because it's cool, you'd never see the game crash or driver crash
I also like that you can put 3000MHz and the card will find the maximum frequency by itself That's really cool.
not really, it depends. Watch the part where I explain how the Core clocks work with this card
7800XT also has high performance gains on the table. I saw ta my Hellhound 3000+Mhz and ram at 2500(voltage 1080). But my CPU(5600) doesn't like it, too slow for the 7800XT.
I'm planning to get a sapphire pulse 7700xt, do these settings still apply or should I get a 3 fan model?
Nice, thanks. Can you do a tuning/efficiency comparison vs RX 6800 (last gen's champ) and maybe some 4000 card, at some point in the future too? :D
czcams.com/video/IlCUM33RDmI/video.html&
Same thing happens with my Hellhound 7800xt for the vram tuning. If I set the vram clock higher than 2600mhz, a black screen and a pc restart will occur right away. But in Kitguru's review of the same card, they can oc the vram clock to 2630mhz without crashing. Maybe it's silicon lottery, or maybe it's related to the psu. They are using a 1600w psu, while I'm using a 850w psu.
Same here. It at 2500 MHz it passed Vulkan mem test but it gets random Green/ Black screens. I think this is due passive state of GPU or is releated with Voltage - I've noticed if real V Core gets lower tham 0.950 mV than is higher change to crush.
Wow, what's so early, it's not even midnight yet ! 😉🙋
hahaha, I know xD

Hi, does anyone know a fix for the adrenaline software not opening? After installing the update for the new AFMF feature, I wanted to test out the new update which helps with the CS2 stuttering. But after installing, It seems that the adrenaline software just won't open. I already used both DDU and the AMD clean up utility.
i had Question about in undervolting your gpu did 7700xt stable if you set the clock speed in maximum 1800 mhz and minimum of 500 mhz?.. i plan to buy this card but my monitor is only 900p 60hz so i plan to undervolting the card for power effieciency
Hey Fabio
I got a question her about OC of a 7700 XT
If I put the power slide all the way to 15% it will stay there for many pc boots but all of the sudden I get a white light on the motherboard and the GPU is set back to default settings.Adrenaline reports gpu crash.
Any experience with this?
Salve do Brasil, man! Consegui comprar hj minha rx7700xt (muito feliz)! Esses ajustes dariam certo para uma Asrock Challenger? Desde já agradeço, vlw e sucesso sempre!!!
Viva, claro que sim. Abraço 💪
Just a quick question/doubt
Seen it on a 7900XT (reference model) do you happen to not be able to lower power consumption, regardless of how low you get it to undervolt? (keeping it on the predefined clock; around 2864mhz) and no matter what I tried it would still consume 308 watts (correct me if I'm wring here,m but AMD swtiched the reporting metric to include the whole card consumption rather than just the core) the only thing that somehow lowered its power consumption a bit was setting a negative power tunning.
I tried 2764 clock speed with 2600 VRAM 1005mv speed, 2805, 2650 VRAM 1005mv. even went to AMD advertised max clocks 2500 clock, 2500 VRAM and 1000 mv, in all three cases same result, always reaching 308 watts (eventual peaks to 320)
Watch my 7900XTX video, I explain everything there. The RX 7900 series work differently
maybe the card compensates by raising the amperage, because it needs the power for those clocks no matter what?
same card and same vram problem it's stable som times during long times playing and then crashes on idle
What is the lowest power draw without losing too much performance?I am ok with 3-5%
Hi Fabio (I hope I spelt that right), for someone who lives in a place where electricity is very expensive, do you have any tweaks to your OC/UV guides to prioritize undervolting, even if that means I am losing 5-7% performance for a lower power draw? Thank you!
Just reduce the frequency and voltage further
@@AncientGameplays Is keeping the power limit at 15% still desirable for a lower power draw? Ive seen some other guides where they say to reduce the power limit to -10, but I've had some stability issues when I've tried that.
@@Yourbeautyformyashes It is generally recommended to reduce the power limit when strictly undervolting. This means that the card will try to stay 10% below the normal power draw limit. You could just use standard clocks and voltage with it, but I'd try to reduce the voltage slightly and leave clocks as is. In which scenarios does your card crash?
@@midevo_ thanks for responding, Ive always lowered the clocks and voltage from stock when I reduce the power draw limit, as I assumed that lower power limit means lowering clock and energy consumption would make sense. I tried running at 500~2200mV clock, 1050mV voltage, and -10 power limit, it runs well in gaming, but computer would at times crash when waking up from idle/sleep (not during gaming or 3d intensive use) which is weird
@@Yourbeautyformyashes This might be a buggy behaviour, which could get sorted out with newer drivers - not sure though, sorry. It is a common thing for the driver to reset to default settings when Fast Startup is used in Windows, so I just disabled that and had no further problems tweaking the settings. Maybe this could help you.
Please redo 7900XTX as the overclocks from your original video results in COD crashing for me after some time please!
when i go into adrenalin software and into tuning, only my cpu shows up not gpu. Any fix?
My main concern is the EULA that I have to accept in Adrenaline. What is exactly Im accepting? first part is probably the "if you fk up we dont care, your fault" I get it, but whats the 2nd paragraph? It speaks about something like they can scan my computer if I accept the EULA meaning they can check my op system, what I do on the computer or what?
I wont accept anything without knowing what am I allowing so this is why Im asking you, just want to make sure even the questions sound stupid, thanks!
I wouldn't worry about that for a single second. They would never turn down a gpu due do that
can you do the same video but for the 7800 xt?
Yes, soon!
I was looking all around because I also get the same issue of black screens when tuning VRAM clock speed. Glad to know it's not just my card but it sucks that it can't be done. Is it possible that they'll eventually fix this with a drivers update?
same here with my TUF version
Should i turn on AMD smart access memory on my rx 6650xt with r5 5600?
Of course. It's very good and it will boost your performance in most games.
I have a question about TBP. If I increase to maximum it doesn't degregate GPU in time of usage? When the TBP is set to the maximum, my RX 7600, for example, has +12%, and the power increases to 200W, whereas the default is set to 180W.
I reduced the voltage to 1140mV and most games are working fine. However, certain games, like Way of the Hunter, still have issues. I discovered that adjusting the TDR Delay times helps resolve the problem.
The cards pcb are ready to work like that. Just keep the temperatures in check and you're fine
rx6750 xt is about 230-210 watts(psu is 650+80) in most games(1080p) so my 1500va ups cant handle it during power outages...so if i just choose the (undervolt) option will it be ok?
As long as it is ok for you

no, they didn't. Watch the 23.10.2
Its r5 5600 good with rx7700xt?
If you max the frequency slider to 5000mhz, i believe thr gpu focuses on that. The memory will downclock, but you can hit 3ghz
Humm, not at all here. Its a software lock, the only card I see this happening
@@AncientGameplays That's what it does on my 7800xt
7800xt will also ignore the minimum frequency for me, at least in lightweight games
@@tuckerhiggins4336 Mine underclocks memory too when i go to 5000, in fact it starts to behave like that at around 3700 MHz.

What gpu should i buy , priority less power consumption? Rx 6800 or rx 7700 xt? I mostly play in 1440p
Both consume the same when tweaked, the 7700xt consumes less overall and performs better in newer games, but has less vram
@@AncientGameplays is it worth to change from rx6700xt? Can i expect some fps boost in 1440p? Or should i wait and buy 7800xt?
Ive never had idle board draw less than 30w. I dont know of any AMD users that have idle board power draw at 8-10w, but this is the first time ive heard of an AMD user saying they have 8-10w of idle draw. I also have the 7800xt, running dual monitors with 144hz refresh rate, so maybe that's why my idle b oard power draw is at 35-50w, but 8-10 is just unheard of. Anyone else have similar experiences, or is getting said low idle power draw?
Of course you have higher idle power draw because you have dual monitors... Connect just one and you can see it go down to 8-12W.
13W here on the 7800XT with the browser opened as we speak
@@AncientGameplays Also, thank you so much for all you do to help us

Problem with Adrenalin software is it resets to the default while opening some games with launcher/anti cheat etc. For example RDR2. Happens while Rockstar Launcher loading.
Idk if this is just me or not :/
it is just you of course. It resets bcause it isn't 100% stable. Tweak it
rdr2 is also a strange case because it has issues the moment you overclock or your gpu at all
Welp... This is weird. I was going to record a video but didn't happen this time. It wasn't about stability because I even tried with reducing values by 10 to be safe. Idk looks like working now, good I guess :D @@AncientGameplays
I undervolt (used Afterburner because of the issue) and works without a problem/crash etc@@mahmood2603
Hi, not directly related to the rx 7700 xt but i have a question regarding the rx 7900 xtx. Can you undervolt/underclock it in a way that it draws around 250 watt instead of 350-400 watts?
You could lower the power limit, lower the clocks and undervolt it but... If you want that power consumption then you are aiming at a 7800XT... What is the point?
Impossible unless you're losing A LOT of performance
Cap the fps to your monitor. Sadly on my resolution I can’t reach the monitor refresh rate in cyberpunk and some other games and it runs on max 😅 But easier to run games give me even 160-180w like Diablo 4 for example
i have my first amd gpu its rx 7700xt pure so my question is, What happens if the voltage is too low? Will the PC crash or will the GPU go black?
Both may happen, then all you have to do is raise the voltage
@@AncientGameplays thankyou

Hi @AncientGameplays, i m using 850w gold psu and pair it with 7900 xtx nitro+. I notice that if i do any undervolt/overclock it may sometimes randomly restart my pc. I also noticed that it also happened when I was using 6800XT.
What is wrong with my GPU? Do u think 850w psu is not good enough?
I believe it might be due to a poor PSU. Wattage is not the issue, the quality of the PSU is.
Also, it can be an unstable CPU/RAM kit
You know what's funny? I also have an 850W PSU. But mine is platinum. It is also paired with another 7900XTX OC version. And I also have random reboots sometimes. I thought it might be my CPU undervolting. So I increased the voltage again. Still, I have the issue sometimes. I honestly doubt that it's your PSU that's causing the issue... I use a 5800X3D as CPU and you?
I have the same CPU as well. I just found somewhere that it maybe due to the random power spike by the GPU, perhaps we need at least 1000w or more PSU?@@sirbughunter

I've found while undervolting amd cards the best game to test for stabiity is fortnite cause for me I had a undervolt of 1140mv for my 6950 xt that would be stable in every single game until fortnite which instantly crash when entering the bus
that's because you're most likely cpu bottlenecked there so it runs into a different power step, leading to slightly different needs. You can simply give more voltage to fortnite specifically
@@AncientGameplays yes thats exactly what I had to do went up to 1160 and it runs stable
Hey @@denniskarlsson6173
Which what Fortnite graphics setting did you Test the undervolt?
Why my settings always reset after most restart or shut down? It’s gaming is fine.
This happens to me with my 6950xt at times. I tried everything out there and it works sometimes but not all the time. I might try afterburner undervolting soon.
Its not 100% stable then
@@AncientGameplays I will increase the voltage then. Thanks
This will happen even if you tweak any settings a bit, it's not a stability issue, for example if you just undervolt by 25mV this will happen for some. It's some inherit conflict with other software starting at boot up. This is happening to a lot of folks and the solutions mentioned so far with CO pilot being the culprit is incorrect. I wish I knew the answer but it's an open problem for now.

I see you are having ReBar enabled, what is your opinion about it? I have heard mixed opinions about it. I am just at loss on understanding how I start PUBG with 237 fps (capped) and the further I get into the game I drop down to 100-130 fps. All my components run below 60 degree so it is not a heating issue either, I am just lost at this point. Any advice?
SaM = on. Simple
@@AncientGameplays Thank you very much, I will give it a try. :)
maybe it depends on the games, I have 5800x3d and rx7900xt nitro and on warzone I don't activate sam because in some scenarios it causes cpu bootlenek and degradation of many fps(with Rx6950xt and 5800x3d it didn't happen), with sam deactivated so many fps and CPU doesn't have bootlenek, it's very strange and it happens only on warzone 2,on all other games sam ok
@@piero1307 Thank you. I enabled SaM and I still have the nasty frame drops but I guess it is just PUBG at this point just really sad to see someone with a equal setup (just intel + nvidia instead of AMD) runs 300 fps and max drops down to 280 fps. I am even going as far as saying while running my i7 7820x + 2080ti setup I had a way better time in PUBG specifically.
My 7900XTX gets random driver crashes with Diablo 4 super frustrating, all other games work fine
maybe its not the game nor the GPU. Diablo IV is just lighter and can achieve way more FPS then some games, so the problem might be your CPU/RAM (it is that most likely)
@@AncientGameplays i did change my undervolt on my 5600X after that its less frequent but still happens, when i up the undervolt back to 1150 on the gpu it runs fine.
@@yvdbroek So it is all said. Your issue is an unstable CPU/RAM overclock

I tried overclocking my 7700 XT and the core does pretty good, but I can't touch the memory. I get a green screen and my PC restarts in an instant.

@@AncientGameplays Yeah I saw that later.
How much did you get on the core?
@@filds1 Don't even know. I just was so disappointed after seeing I couldn't overclock the vRAM that I lost interest in overclocking it and totally forgot.
I've got great core same. With -10% of Power Limit and clock set to 3000 MHz Card push up clocks up to 2850 Mhz. In most scenarios with high GPU demanding titles I get something like 2775 MHz with Board Power of Wats(230 MAX, with Tomb Rider in 1440p it hits Avg 200Wats). Thank you @@AncientGameplays
Hello Fabio, video for RX 6650xt overclock and undervolt?
7900 xtx is the same?
Watch the xtx video
can you do the 7700xt next?
This is the 7700xt
See i told you they remove the gpu junction temperature in tuning and you did not believe me
Its literally there, the gpu hotspot...
where is the gvgmall
Isn't
Will this work with xfx speedster qick 319 black editio version?
Listen to the video and common question 🤷♂️
Oh, stupid question. Sorry about that. Thanks for answer 😅
LMAO i just did the vram overclocking and i also crashed (blackscreen)
i have the gigabyte variant btw
Welcome brother xD
I've watched this video at least 4 times and still don't understand how to undervolt the gpu. Rip
Then don't. If you don't understand these basic concept, it is fine. Just don't touch things and enjoy your gpu
@@AncientGameplays I do understand the basics, I've overclock 2 GPUs multiple times with no problem (1060 and 1660). The problem lies on udervolting, I heard about it for the first time a few days ago. I'm going to buy, in a few days, my first Amd gpu, and especially the 7700xt so I wanted to undervolt it bc my PSU is a little weak. Right now I am following another guide on how to do it on msi afterburner with the vuerve editor and is way easier to understand, I already got the hang of it.
Thanks for the reply and the concern
@@remor9637 I have the exact problem as you. My PSU draws only 500 Watt and I want to undervolt the GPU. I never understand in the videos how to undervolt, he only explains how to overclock I think
6700xt please
Already done ..watch the intro
Great news tonight: Intelrippers return! RIP Intel🕯
lol
I imagine this all applies to a 7800xt
Not entirely
Yes. the numbers are different though.
My card wouldn't overclock that great on Performance mode bios switch. Then i tried Quiet mode, and i could overclock to 3.0ghz loool
That's odd sincerely. How about VRAM?
vram would crash when adjusting only 1 mhz just like you. But when i first change from 240hz to 120hz, then oc the vram, reboot pc. And then put it back to 240hz, it would not crash@@AncientGameplays
Did Intel send you any "14th gen" samples to review? LUL Even though it's meme release but it'll be good for the channel. 😂😂
Nah, i don't have time to review cpus now, also, i never received a single thing from them. I even asked for some to review and show them morw and they didn't want to send any hahs
overclock the vram clock not the gpu
Listen go the video son
I think the percentage differences were missing from the last slides. I was waiting for those. Seems like barely 5% can be found more. Maybe more. It's a shame RDNA 3, is, so underwhelming, like a 2021 product.
What are you talking about exactly?
I think he meant fps increase by overclocking statistics@@AncientGameplays
I have the gigabyte windforce version (BIOS oc mode) and i can reach stable 3150mhz my settings: Min core 3000, max 5000, voltage 840mv. Memory @ 2400. Im able to reach 3300mhz rising Min core to 3200 @ 850mv it's stable in many games (AMD stresstest Is fine too ) but in Resident evil Village It crashes. Great gpu
so 7800 xt tutorial
