Hope this video helps you guys, and REMEMBER that all cards are different and this settings may serve as a BASE alongside my explanations, but you still need to tweak yours :D
Oh thanks man. I was waiting for this to tweak mine, much appreciated!!
@@mgkallits glad I can help!
@@AncientGameplaysI don’t know how you figured this out but thank you. I’ve tried a few different combinations of settings but yours seems to be that sweet spot of stability and an increase in performance
I'm crashing 24/7 to the point where I had to fix my windows because the card bricked my install when I turned on resizable bar in bios, ended up with me pressing the repair button and windows deleted the adrenaline software, not sure what to do right now, I'm running a 7900GRE from gigabyte, I think it's their only variant. Now I'm on a fresh windows install with a aorus elite x570 and ryzen 7 3700x.
@@AncientGameplays The link for the OC settings no longer works.
Could you kindly fix it?
I don’t even have a 7900GRE, but here I am. Acting like I can’t miss this tutorial 💀
Same here lol. Cheers to those that got a 7900 GRE though.
Got it and hella happy
@@artie1390 First GPU? Or what did you upgrade from?
@@lordfrieza2848from gtx1070, had it for the past 6 years. The difference is quite huge if you don’t use rtx techniques, i have overclocled mine to 2600-2800mhz gpu and 2600mhz memory at +15 power limit. The draw in games can be up to 326w, but fps boost is really noticeable compared to stock. I have nitro + version. Got it yesterday so didn’t have a lot time to mess around with undervolting.
@@artie1390 It’s still technically an upgrade though, upgrading from something that can’t do ray tracing to something that does ray tracing at an avg fps comparable to RTX 30 series. You’ve got great raster price to performance too. :D
Enjoy your Nitro+ man, I’ve got one too (7900 XTX) and undervolting it is amazing. 1.060V, 3045Mhz Max +15% PL stable. I’m gonna keep this thing for a very long time. I’ve heard the Nitro+ model has the higher binned chips from sapphire unlike the pulse models, which I’ve heard means better UV and OC, unless I’m wrong.
Now tell us how to underclock GPU prices
That's a government secret!

That's great, however your gpu has a board power limit, so even though you might have those settings, it might only be pushing X mHz. Also Hellhound uses Samsung mem, so something to consider.

Just in time! I was just ordering the Nitro+ Version lol. Your videos are always the best Fabio, keep them coming :D
Thank you Gonzalo!
@@AncientGameplays Hey Fabio, quick question, here in Spain I can find the 7900 GRE Nitro+ for 625 Euros and the 7900 XT Hellhound for 779 Euros, considering the price difference, do you think the 7900 XT is worth it? I still haven't ordered the GRE as I saw that the memory can have some instability with the VRAM Overclock and such. I have a 5800X3D in my rig and I play with a 4K monitor, which one do you think will suit it best? Thanks again for the video!
@gonzalo4246 Get the 7900 xt in my opinion, if you play in 4k.

Many thanks, I got the 7900 GRE Hellhound and R5 7600 Awesome combo on a decent B650M MB. thanks for the OC profile, New drivers make it an awesome 1440P and even some 4k without RT card, but had to get a AK620 cooler to cool to CPU as it as it gets a bit spicy.
Thank you.

Now you have it here haha
I had a tip from an other video, how to overclock this card. I was running it on 2400 mhz vram and maximum GPU frequency with a 960mV undervolt. It charshed, but only once. Now I use this settings and it looks stable. 😊
Fabio , thanks ! I'm impressed it's because of you I'm still rank 2 of the world with 2 Rx 6800 cards, and a 5950x processor on 3dmark 😂😂😂, well and I'm still on the second place !!! 🎉🎉🎉
My 7900 GRE Fighter manages a memory OC of 2600MHZ and a voltage of 975mv stable. Super happy with it specially being one of the cheapest and an entry card!
have the same gpu. this gpu is quiet.
🙏 thank you
finally, been waiting eagerly for this video for 2 weeks, thank you... i bought the 7900 gre pulse... since i only play COD warzone 3: how many volts would you set for this game?
In warzone you'll most likely be cpu bottlenecked
Great video as per usual 👍👌.
I have a question why with my 7800xt when I raise the base clock above 3500Mhz the Vram clock drops significantly?
because those cards are not meant for that... 3GHz tops
Got my hands on a 7900gre nitro+ today and started to try overclocking. The card is running great and your video helped out a lot. However I noticed that the power draw reached 401w for a second whenever I loaded into an area but I was able to figure out the cause and turn it off. It only happened once and was normally at 301w. Should I be concerned that i damaged the card potentially? Or should it be fine since the game didn’t crash and everything was pretty much normal even after that large spike
XFX 7900 GRE with stable 2800 core clock, 2700 mhz mem clock, with 1025 mV at the moment. Thank you so much for this vid.
Nice ❤❤
Yea, turn off zero fans because memory junction temp is above 70 degrees even on idle when on. Also my settings with Pulse CC 2750MHz (the card boost's higher according to hwinfo) Vram 2390MHz (value from adrenaline auto oc xD) UV 980mV PL +15% and it's all well and stable for a week.
Would you recommend doing this with the generic 7900 GRE? Also, I noticed i'm getting micro stutters with last weeks updates, just me? Again, i do have the standard {reference} GPU, but i'm wondering would this give me more issues or solve the issues i have? Thanks
Is this the same for the 7800xt? I love you videos dude so funny
Lmao bro I was planning to ask you in the comment section for an overclock on 7900 GRE (Just ordered that gpu some hours ago) but dang you uploaded one 😅 Thank you
Ordered the Nitro edition 7900 GRE
yeah, people were asking haha
Can any other overclocking software give better results like afterburner or even maybe messing with BIOS settings,i am not really familiar,or maybe wait for another driver update maybe we get more oc headroom and customisation with maybe 0 problems,i am getting the nitro+ in some weeks,so i am really interested, cause i think hardware unboxed had some very good results, thanks for your job👍
Hello. In the comparison of 7900 gre and 4070 super you mentioned differences in the limits between 7900 pulse and nitro, namely the ability to set the bios from nitro to pulse in order to expand the limit from 290W to 345W. Didn't AMD block this feature? In any case, this experience may be relevant for owners of the same Tuf 7900 gre, where there is good cooling, but the limit remains from the reference of 263W. The firmware process doesn’t seem to be complicated, but I don’t have a similar card on hand to check personally, so it would be interesting to see what you have. Thanks for the video and good luck
Hello im a new pc builder got the gre nitro plus and I paired it with a 750 w psu… is it enough for the over clocking?
For AMD advantage laptops, it was previously possible to overclock/undervolt via adrenaline, but they canceled that option. I use legion with 5600H and 6600M 8GB 100W with 24.3.1 driver and I only have available smartshift (similar to dynamic boost) which adds 20W and graphics works at 120W.
I just chuck on the GPU overclocked in the performance tab coz its quick and easy and no hassle to the user.
let`s go baby
Is the 7900gre nitro + worth it or is the 4070 super a better option at the same price point? Or the pulse at MSRP? I can’t get the hellhound because my case will only fit a 330mm GPU
What is your recommend PSU wattage for this card pair with i5-14600K? I wonder between 750W or 850W. Also after seeing the conclusion of the end of the video, it's very interesting that with undervolt and lower MHZ still brings the same perf as max performance, nice video as always. It would be nicer if you have video with comparison between the 7900 gre with safe OC vs 4070ti and super
The card will use about 300w, I believe there's a chart showing spikes up to almost 400w. So I would use 400w as a guideline for building your power requirements.
AMD recommends 650w-750w depending on exact 7900 gre gpu. It will vary
thx for the video I own 7900 GRE Pulse
Q: At the end you show benchmarks but with no voltage.
I think ill stay with 1010v 2803/2316 MHz with minimum 500 and 15% on power.
Good tip for turning off zero rpm, finally my gpu is 35-42 on youtube and windows.
Nice video as always, there is the same video for 7900XT?
i tuned all my friends 7900xtx and found this to be the best way: (should be the same for 7900xt)
1. +15 power limit
2. disable zero RPM & choose 65-80% fan curve
3. start with 2800 Vram MC with standart timings
4. make a timespy run until u get the best gpu score (for most 2750 memclock was best)
5. now start touching clock mhz and voltage.
6. ignore min. clock and make sure max clock is at 100% (u need to type it, dont use the slider)
7. now jump into heaven benchmark & find a spot on the map where clock speed is highest
8. start with max voltage and decrease by 10. wait 5 minutes and if no crash decrease 10 more. (most were stable at 1120mv).
9. enjoy!
sometimes when i watch animes and have 3 monitors active it does crssh. if this is the case just increase voltage to stock meanwhile & when finished turn off the extra displays and go back to the tuned voltage u had ✌🏼
Xt gets higher clocks/voltages
@@AncientGameplaysgood to know, thanks💪🏼
2593Mhz on core, 2350 MHz on VRAM, all on 1010mV settings and the +15% power limit! I'd say that's a very good improvement while maintaining the same temperatures :D
Great video! Thanks for your work, as always. Hellhound 7900gre here. If I use fast timings on the vram, the card will crash in Photoshop and Lightroom.
Max core
1010mv
Vram 2303mhz (default timing)
Power max 15%
This is what works for me in games and Photoshop. If I use fast timing, Lightroom will instantly freeze. Hope this is useful for anyone who is trying to tweak their card for games, but still use their system for work as well.
more mv
@@GodyArtDesign I'll give it a try, thanks.
@@madddog692000 And ? Good ?
Good afternoon, how are you? I saw that the pro 24.Q1 drive was recently released, do you think it is better than the 23.Q3 drive?
they should be better I assume
Sapphire Pulse 7900 gre here: I
Following your video provided a solid foundation. Amd overlay showing a max 2600ish gpu mhz (96% usage) and a max of 295w board power. Thats with setting my base cpu mhz at 2703, max 2803. I can get the voltage down to around 960mv or so and remain stable. I assume this is due to the bios limitations specifically to the pulse vs nitro+.
Pulse has a max P.Draw of 290w vs 330w in the Nitro+, so clocks will be a bit lower. Still, you have a good sample there
Nice video Fabio! Just a question. I see in the whole time you are tuning your card for many minutes total boardpower 85 watts. That should be the idle powerdraw...wich is insane! And is one of the many issues i encountered with AMD GPU's! I think you have a high res monitor maybe 2 like i had. And for me the only way to bring it down to normal was lowering my framerate at 60hz on my monitors.
Now with my Nvidia 4080 super it runs at 165hz at about 20 watts usage. As AMD stated it was solved i am wondering howcome you have such high load during idle?
Nah, you missed the part where I explained the power draw and VRAM at max were because I was recording with the GPU at the same time haha, You can even see I am recording when I open the Software for the first time. This card runs at around 12-16w idle
@@AncientGameplays Aha that explains a lot!
Does it apply to reference 7900XT aswell? It's been almost a year since I've bought it and the issue where idle power draw is high (sometimes around 80W) still persists.
In my case stable settings for now are as follows:
Core: min: 2703 max: 2803
Core Voltage: 1010mV
VRAM speed: 2412 with Fast Timing
Power Limit: 15%
Max fan speed: 60%
Stable, cold and quiet everywhere I tested(benchmarks, Tekken 8, CS2 and some other games).
Fantastic tutorial for the GPU by the way @AncientGameplays!
Cs rank now?
Great to help!
Actually with sapphire pulse rx 7900 gre I got pretty same settings, voltage is stable still on 990-1010mV
Fabio, could do an overclock video with HYDRA pro? it can do wonders for the GPU and CPU
What would you say is the highest quality model of the RX 7900 GRE? The Nitro + model, or are there better ones? Great video btw!
Yes, on the AMD Sapphire usually delivers the best cards across the board, with Asus, powercolor and Asrock also having some good models
Man my settings won’t stick after reboot or is it not supposed to? And most of the time I’d load a profile it’ll crash or. Is it because of fast timing? Ik that’s been having issues… or was my settings not stable enough? I ran multiple benchmarks and played several games for hours and nothing crashed or had any hiccups
with the powercolor hellhound does the bios switch matter?
Does max frequency change with Voltage adjustment?
Cazse for me those two frequency sliderd are basically upper and lower limit.
its the opposite, the higher the frequency the maximum the voltage "base"
Thanks for the video!
Are you able tell us how much watt an hour the GPU use when undervolting to 1010 while gaming?
Reason im asking is, that where i live, the power is extremly expensive, so either i should go for a more expensive Nvidia card, that use less power, or this one, because power consumption over a few years will ramp up. :o)
as explained that depends on the model and power limits. if you want to limit the max power draw, you can limit the maximum frequency to let's say 2500MHz. If the GRE is cheaper than the 4070 Super go for it and do this process of "power saving", if they both cost the same, get the 4070 super
@@AncientGameplays Thanks for the reply!
The model you used, did you notice how much watt it was using during gaming?
@@FlemmingFloor mate, it is shown in the end of the video
@@AncientGameplays I am so sorry!
I was super blind there! :o)
I stopped watching after your conclusion, since im running 1440p, and you are showing 1080p, so i didnt think about the power usage was being shown in that footage.
Thanks for being patient with me/us, and keep up the good work! :o)
I know you said that if the price was the same on each of them, would you still tell us to get a 4070 super, over the 7900 GRE?
Im kinda worried about if the VRAM, on the 4070 super is enough for the next years to come, and the 7900 GRE has 16GB
What graphic are you using in the tests the nitro + or the pulse?
I literally said I was using the Nitro+
I have The Nzxt kraken elite 360mm cooler & when I downloaded the amd software the GPU temp stopped reading on the cooler and it says power is n/a how do i fix it?
This is just a guess, but...
Lowering the mem clock and voltage PROBABLY reduce excess heat in critical areas, making the higher core speeds more stable.
Fast timing settings help bridge any potential bandwidth related performance loss. And keeping your peak power draw ~5% under max should stop crashing over longer sessions.
Again, I'm guessing. This is my first card since the 5700XT, so it's been awhile since I've tuned a card.
Can fan speed cause issues too? I had mine at 2416 with 1030 voltage but i got artifacting and then at 2316 at 1030 and resetted my pc. However both times i had the max fan at 80 percent, but once i left it at 100 and 2316 at 1030 it seems to be stable so far. So can the fan max cause issues? And I have the Powercolor Hellhound model.... But i do have a 650w psu that is A tier tho with a 3600 (soon to be 5700x), could it be the psu instead?
I have 2 different PowerColor 7900 GRE Hellhounds with Samsung memory, first one only does 2575/1000mv/2376 memory, second one 2803/985mv and 2376 memory as well. Memory clocks any higher on either one will cause random black/gray screens and possible reboots eventually on low load when browsing on firefox. The cooler is sick though on these 7800XT/7900GRE Hellhound cards and PowerColor switched to using PCM for these. Memory temps are also way better than on Nitro+ cards which I've tried in the past (7800XT, 7900XTX Nitro+).
I can confirm the hellhound GRE runs very cool. I keep mine at 1350 rpms and it stays chillin.
Thanks for the video. Sapphire PURE here.
Using your Core Settings I get a Max Core Boost of 2873. Max stable VRAM is 2450 at 1010V Fast Timings.
Alana Wake 2 @1440p Avg FPS increased from 60 to 67. 0.1 FPS increased from 45 to 55.
Most other games are 100+ so the OC isnt really worth it.
Great!

@@mastroitek hzd pushes the cpu ans ram alot. Maybe those are unstable
@@AncientGameplays Thx! that is good to know, at the moment I only have a slight UV on the cpu, ram is stock (12600k with -50mV and 2x16gb 3600mhz cl17). Considering that I used to keep a -100mV with no apparent issues I doubt a -50mv is the cause of the problem, but I sure hope you are right!
Props to you for the great videos and keeping up with the comments! Have a great day
anyone having issues with coil whine? I do have the same board and its somehow loud.
I discovered undervolting my RX6800 made the biggest difference for sustaining high clocks. I’m lucky I can max my clock slider at 2600, minimize voltage at 973mV and +10% power with no issues. Seems the RDNA3 is more sensitive but still worth trying to get the most out of your card.
Did u run 3dmark time spy?
Yes, because you have more power room
@@MrBalrogos yes and all others. I was the top score in port royal and a couple others, though not time spy, with a 5900x. Have not checked lately. I’m sure they can all be beat with some chilled cooling. Still, shows the headroom for the old RDNA2 silicon.

is the Gigabyte Gaming OC model a good pick for overclocking?
No.
A. Gigabyte's QC is awful. (My 1st GRE was GB. Came in BNIB w/ screws loose+missing)
B. Many comments on this video from people with GB GREs are having problems.
The Powercolor Hellhound (with it's Clan Wolf logo) is the 'best' card out of box @tm. The Sapphire Nitro+ and AsRock Steel Legend, generally coming in 2nd/3rd for quality/OCability.
Super awesome video, i'm planning on getting a 7900 GRE hellhound but its price increased to $699!! Not sure why its now so expensive when the Nitro+ is staying the same at $599 so I hope it goes down to its normal price again soon.
Nitro is better, get that one
It's normally $569-579 on Amazon (shipped and sold by). Amazon just has some weird random price fluctuations for no reason.
@AncientGameplays any plans for an undervolt guide for 7900xt? Or have anyone to refer to
Asrock challenger 7900gre:

hi. please tell me which is better to take the 7900gre or 4070 super? provided that amd is 74 dollars cheaper than nvidia
Hey mate, watch this one: czcams.com/video/wM53zKzTZfg/video.html
Can someone please explain the logic behind raising the minimum frequency up so high and possibly how it is calculated?
Is it similar to CPU OC where you want to adjust the tune so it doesn't ramp up so fast?
Also I don't really understand the process of undervolting too! Then round up/down by 12/16!?
Last AMD card I had was an Rx580 and all the OC stuff is foreign to me
so much magical mystery going on here.
Does anyone know what the minimum PSU you would need If you increase the power limit. Im planning a SFF build so I was looking at the Corsair SF750 but now I'm not sure if it'll be enough if I up the power limit.
Any decent 650-700W PSU would be more than enough
If core voltage actually does affect the vram voltage as you assumed, what if you set the memory frequency lower? Could you get even more voltage off the core? Is it possible that the instability at voltages below 1010mV is caused by the vram and no the core?
Yes, that exactly what I said, I don't believe that going lower than 2300MHz will make any difference though as the stock is 2250MHz
@@AncientGameplays Oh I didn't realize I wasn't being very clear, by lower I meant going below stock. But you answered that anyway 👍
How low does the slider go on Radeon? I've only ever had my 3080 and afterburner lets you set it to a minimum of -500mhz (so equivalent to -125mhz on the amd software).
@@ZenTunE- you can't go below stock on vram
I had the same problems you had. When I would take it to 2600 vram it would black screen at random times. Most times while watching videos online. But if I played a game it woulf be fine. I found this out after 3 hrs of overclocking it and moving vram and core clock up during testing. I got a scroe of 23500 on timespy. I have the Gigabyte Rx 7900 gre Oc.
I got the same card bro. What settings did you figure out that works for you?
Hola!! Tengo la misma tarjeta gráfica que tú ,al final conseguiste un perfil estable,me lo podrías decir?@@wickymix1
Can you do this same video but with the 7900XT? I’ve been looking for a tutorial to undervolt but I’m kind of skeptical lol
The approach is the same. Lower it, test that everything runs stable. Lower it, test. Lower it, oooops! Go back up. It really is that simple.
Can I keep the GRE overclocked or should I keep it stock and OC it only for specific games that I want to see more performance?
Haven't you watch thd common questions part?
@@AncientGameplays just about to get to that :D
Dude just post a meme with Mr Poulpe and Gaëlle Mectoub. I didn't know they were known outside of France !
He's everywhere
These settings were super solid for me for 2 days, then today for some reason it locked up on me. Restarted the pc, and now when I enter these settings again it keeps locking up after applying. Should I raise the voltage 5-10mv?
Edit: Should note that after restarting the pc again these setting where able to apply? I'll see what happens. It's on a Gigabyte card
I have a very basic motherboard that doesn't support overclocking.
I was thinking of getting 7900 GRE. Can i overclock it even if my motherboard don't support overclocking.
Which one would be a best option for OC, Sapphire Pure, Gigabyte, XFX or ASRock Steel Legend? I don't wanna pay $40 extra for Nitro+
Nitro is worth it. But the pure's cooler is good too and you can mod the vbios to the nitro one
I got the Pure without mod - mine is running at 960 mV - 2603 (max) - 2403 (min) - 2312 VRAM (Fast Timings) ... 2412 VRAM (Fast Timings) only runs stable at 1000 mV.
BTW the VRAM is from Hynix.
Since i didn't see a huge increase in FPS at 1440p with 2412 VRAM clock i lowered it to 2312.
Mine does NOT like the fast timing lol. Black screens no matter what else is or isn’t changed. Ah well, still a super sweet upgrade from my 6800xt.
Well ancient, can you please help me with it, Rc 7900 xt and ryzen 5 7600x can together give good increase performance after enabling SAM mode without overclocking cpu and gpu, please help me and in 4k ultra gaming how much can it increases performance from raw in percentage.
That depends on the game, but sam should be ON, period
I watched several videos and looked for guides, but I still can't figure out how values in adrenaline correlate with actual resulting clocks/voltage.
On nvidia i eventually figured out how to use curve flattening and managed to get ~96% of performance while savings ~30% of power.
Hii! OC with 750w psu would be also possible? Greetings from Warsaw
Up Up 😂
It's been a while so could you redo the Overclocking the 7900XTX video? Thoughts?
i tuned all my friends 7900xtx and found this to be the best way: (should also be the same for 7900xt)
16:00 wouldnt say so caus eon RX 6800 xt using MPT u lower voltage of VRAM to get additional maximum wattage for GPU insetad
That a different thing. You do that for have more power room
@@AncientGameplays I mean SoC :) by lowering soc voltage u more headroop for gpu :D soon i will doi such soc undervolt also i am curious about fast timings 2 but u need use lower vram frequency than 2000Mhz otherwise artifacts or viceversa increase SoC and MVDD (mV) - is the memory voltage, and increase voltages there
I just ordered a 7900gre it was $80 AUD cheaper from $979 to 800 AUD for the sapphire pure model which goes well with my white build
I forgot to say the 7900xt is right now at $1600 AUD for 10-15% less performance or whatever it is ill keep the extra money in my pocket thanks
Hi everybody, thank you again Fabio for your good job. Here the result of the Belgian jury... 🙂 Seriously, I've got a RX 7900 GRE FE build by Powercolor since Oct 23 and run stable at 2703 - 2803 - 955 - 2414 Fast.
The card pikes to 2852 MHz, that's very near my Deadline 2880 MHz where she crash a 99% times.
Interesting
21:19 MY 7900 GRE Pulse does 920 mV / 2803 MHz / 2600 Mhz / +15% Power. Currently at rank 33 (25262 points) in the top 100 Timespy list for the 7900 GRE. I think the GPU still has some more points in it, but iam actually tired to try more often :P. Probably with the Nitro Bios i could be top 10~. This Setup doesnt run every game. Games dont like that 2600 Mhz Mem OC. The Core clock is easy with 2800 Mhz but Memory has to be somewhere between 2400-2500~ depending on the game. Also 920 mV is not enough for games. It has to be slightly higher, like 970 mV. The overall OC potential is more than 15% while benching. In daily use its more like a mild 10% OC.
100% stable in idle as well? That's awesome
@AncientGameplays The link for the OC settings no longer works.
Could you kindly fix it?
It does work mate
I am using the Gigabyte 7900gre, with overclocking settings configured to Min frequency: 2700, Max frequency: 2803, voltage: 960mv, +15% power, and VRAM Max frequency: 2400 with default timing. While playing games, I am encountering black screen issues and driver timeout alerts. Do you have any suggestions for modifications?
Samsung VRAM
Hola, al final encontraste una configuración estable?
❤❤❤
Hello Fabio,
Been watching your videos for a while now. I have an RX 7900GRE Nitro + myself. The card run cool and good, but there's a single problem that continue to haunt me for days without a solution.
Whichever game I played, there's always a physic bug that occur. It makes the hair and sometime clothing/accessory of the character model moving extremely fast and definitely not normal.
For example, the coat of Arthur will be waving around very quickly if you're moving.
Another one is the hair and quiver of Eivor in AC Valhalla bouncing around all over the place on the inventory menu.
Humm, never saw anything like that in my case, and tested over 40 games
Ok, that is absolutely weird. Never EVER seen anything like that. And I've overclocked quite many CPUs and GPUs to within an inch of their life (cough, maybe an inch further once or twice, cough). I've seen wrong-color pixel artefacts and black-frame flicker, but never that physics specifically broke.
Come to think of it: If you're running a CPU overclock, try disabling it, and if you're running your base PCIe clock above spec, set it back to default (100MHz with spread spectrum enabled).
@@andersjjensen Thank you both for the reply. I also did get black pixel flickering and artifacts on Horizon Zero Dawn and an indie game called Tale of Immortal. Still don't know what's the root cause tho.
The only thing I did to my cpu is to undervolt it using ryzen master and the bios profile on my mobo.
Make sure everything is put to default, cpu, ram, gpu and test.
Might need to reseat the GPU?
@@tienatnguyen5882 Reset your CPU to defaults (temporarily). Reset our GPU to defaults. If the problem persists: RMA the card right away.
Commenting for the algorithm
Thanks!
I am thinking about upgrading my 3060 to a sapphire nitro+ 7900 gre. the PSU I have is 750w. The recommended is 700w. Would I be okay?
That's a massive upgrade. Make sure the other parts are up to the task
More than ok, running 650w here, 0 issues and still have headroom.
Pit aside about 400w-450w for the gpu draw tops
@@AncientGameplays I have 32gb of ram and a Intel i7 10700k
So you recommend the minimum frequency of an RX 6800 XT should be 500 MHz?
Yes
All RDNA2 cards boost the way they should, so keeping the minimum frequency at 500MHz means you're not forcing the card to use power in old games that can't even saturate the card.
I just bought the XFX version. I had the same experience with my OC attempts. I came here to make sure I wasn't missing something. I stopped at 2600MHz core 2400MHz for memory @ 1035mV .
Gonna try these tips out b cause I know there's more head room with 336W available
I too have the XFX. Just got it recently as well! :)
Which OC settings did you land on?
@@MrEtai
Core Clock: 2803 MHz @1012mV
VRAM: 2320MHz
Board power: +15% (~335W)
@@crankycanuck2875 what about VRAM, Minimum Frequency & Fan speed?
@@MrEtai
Minimum freq is 500MHz with no issues. I disabled Zero RPM and set the max fan speed for 90%/75%@60⁰C. Fast Timings enabled and max VRAM is 2320MHz, as mentioned earlier.
@@crankycanuck2875 okay, nice of you to share. I’ll give it a shot and see if it works for my XFX model.
Hey I just bought a Gigabyte version of the card just 3 days ago, when trying to change to fast timings with nothing else changed it instantly blackscreens/crashes, also when i have a "stable" oc and then reapply the preset it instantly crashes,m no matter how high/low the oc is, any idea on why that is? Best regards and thanks for the great video!
You must have Samsung VRAM, just leave the timings auto
That’s weird because I am using the gigabyte 7900 gre and it lets me use fast timings. It basically worked exactly how he suggested
@@timmyalley6621Gigabyte's 'consistency' is all over the place. My first GRE was a Gigabyte; returned it to NE same day w/o ever slotting it in. It literally had screws missing and loose.
Inexcusably *lacking* QC from GB.
@@LRK-GT i probably would have returned that too
@@AncientGameplays and what if i have hynix vram? best option is 2316 fast timings? will you think this issue be resolved in the future and if so could you please update us? 2516 standart timings crashes only in chrome browser when starting a video.
