This technique, setting the max framerate to half of your screen max refresh rate, and use FG to double it and reach your screen refresh rate, it's just great! Power saving, lower heat. Thank you for all your work sir! 👌
This is great if you are using a 240hz + screen, but personally input lag under 120hz is a bit too savage for me
IMO using 120hz set max on a 240hz 4k OLED is a great use case for this tech!
excellent tech for contemplative game because we dont care about latency , but in competitive game this technology add almost 15 or 20ms :(
so i'm new to pc gaming, i have a 7800xt/7600x and 240hz screen. So everytime i play fs22 i have reduce my screen RR itself instead of in the game? Fabio said indeed in the game it will only cap the ingame engine. So i won't get the reduced power draw and heat you speak of, correct? Would you guys still recommend keeping XeSS since the new updates of fsr3?

TLoU is still building shaders , that's why your 7700x is stuck at 100% , you will get a lot more FPS once it's done.
I know, it is not stuck at 100% though lol, it only goes there on menus
@@AncientGameplays Even though the game is building shaders while in game but for the current location only , that is decreasing your %1 lows and average , benchmark while the game has pending shaders and with complete shaders and you will notice the difference.
having 25% of cpu time free would rather be better used compiling windows 11 kernel from the cloud source files being transfered via ftp to an hdd via modem... other amazing thing to me is 75% cpu usage, as shown, equals to 6 cores being used, why to spare 2 idle-equivalent cores? games must come fully optimized to make background multi-thread tasks to fill the hardware...
Maybe because he's using a slower drive?@@kaledtarek1
As I made some videos showing how crappy FSR3 Frame Generation was in some games (unusable), I wanted to make a video showing how most of them got fixed recently!
Is it working properly for you now? Let us know!
like i've said for years, it's the game drivers that are hurting amd. it's not that amd drivers are the problem. the devs are overworked and cutting corners. it's the same in all games from nvidia being put first for so many years, because idiots kept buying nvidia gen after gen.
Wow finally MEMC technology works perfectly!! Now we can scrape the GPU to find out which MEDIATEK processor is inside 🤣🤣🤣
@@craiglortie8483 So fucking true omg
does fram gen work with radeon chill
I have noticed some odd behavior from the 5600GT (Ryzen). It performs _WORSE_ than the standard 5600G in certain titles, but only at low settings. Titles: Cyberpunk 2077, God of War, and Fortnite. . . . it's very odd. I was wondering if you could duplicate and or find a fix. I'm not sure the GPU matters but, it's an RTX 4070Ti.
Thank you.
i can't wait for FSR 3.1 and comparison of FG technologies, like imagine DLSS with FSR FG to be prefered way of playing
Nvidia GPUs: DLSS + FSR3 FG
AMD/ARC GPUs: XeSS + FSR3 FG
Lol
@@raresmacovei8382 literally any non 4000 series user
also dlss had problems with garbling of UI, dunno if fixed, which doesn't exist in FSR if implemented properly, so if you give better upscaler, it might have better effect overall
It is impressive how amd achieved fg at par with nvedia and made it for everyone not only 4000 series
lmfao i love seeing people trying to come up with ways to try and make the nonsense they say somehow make sense. amd wins on some areas of the gpu market for sure, but upscaling and fg isn't one of them.
i wouldn't say its one par with nvidia, but its still nice to have it on older cards
@@tomgreene5388 honestly imo ive 'understanding' others enough but never the vice versa, notice i never talked abt others and only questioning whats been happening to myself
That's because frame generation is old tech, has been done for a while for movies with a program called SVP. Funny that I still see the same kind of motion artifacts using Frame Generation as I did using SVP couple years back.
@@PhantomOnline what's the difference
The amount of people who argued for weeks that there is nothing wrong with FSR 3 FG, especially in Robocop and Avatar, is mind boggling. Yes, it's difficult to show on screen with metrics exactly what your eyes are seeing, but it really was very obvious if you just looked at the image presented. Happy it's resolved now.

Thank you as always for your ongoing updates. I believe I have resolved my system issues with my 7900XT. It looks like it was my motherboard that was causing all my problems. My new motherboard is running COD MW3 at extreme graphics, 4k, with FSR3 and frame generation with 200+ frame rates with HDR. Same CPU, memory, GPU abs powerfully as before, but no DirectX errors or crashes! Thank you for all your assistance and for listening to my issues. Take care, Sir.
Maybe the bios was messed up
I did reflash the bios several times with original and subsequent versions after fully clearing it, but nothing helped, but thanks for the suggestion. Take care, Sir .
About time bro... Also cant wait for anti lag+ implementation, I think it would add more value to amd gpus in competitive field
Great video. It's just me thinking that fabio has an impact on what is happening with fsr3 in games? Good! It's really good to have people like you on AMD side because you are doing really great job!
I believe I do have a bit of impact there yes
@@AncientGameplaysDefinitely, you have that. Maybe not a lot. But at least a bit, for sure! ♥️
I like your videos very informative, I'm from Brazil nice to see in the intro some portuguese

Great video! Insane fps gain with fg, how is the shimmering in robocop now vs fsr2?
About to recieve my first amd gpu in a few days, thank you jesus for the news
I'll finally play the last of us on PC. Thanks for the update dude. 👍
They fixed it as soon as possible nice 👍
AMD needs to make FSR3 more foolproof to implement. Modders fixed all of these games weeks/months ago. Game devs that implement it poorly give AMD a bad reputation. They should also consider hiring the modders to work with game devs to have it working right on the game's release date.
THX for the video! 👌
If I had a wish, I'd ask for frame limit in 1x steps for monitor output(!) and to have a different indication when frame gen is enabled. like 140 (~70), 141 (~70), 142 (~71). (I know the problem is that it is "unknown" what frame gen does with the input frames. assumption of 2x is for FSR3 still not far fetched)
You can enable FSR3 frame generation now in Lords of the fallen but you will need launch property -FSRFG to do so if not noticed any issues, other then really long shader compiling time.
Didn't know that. Thanks
Now we wait for FSR 3.1. Quite excited to see how much FSR AA has improved, compared to latest versions of DLSS and XeSS. AMD also needs to develop and re-release their Anti-Lag+ for better latency mitigation.
AMD's AI based image upscaler is also something to look forward to.
Anti-lag+ seems to be coming really soon!
Great thing you brought to people's, and maybe to some devs, attention that probably the implementations of FSR3 FG was wrong in some games. Keep going!
Thanks
Once you see HUD objects including large semi transparent areas, like the compass bar at the bottom of the screen, is running at native frame rate and doesn't match up to the generated frame amount you can't unsee it.
love it :> (i cant wait for cyberpunks frame gen)
Thanks a lot, once more, for being THE essential AMD GPU guy on the web. Me and my 7900xtx are very grateful to you :D
Nice, I will try the tips of limiting the framerate of half my monitors with fg in remnant 2 because, with vsync it was fluid but the imput latency was really noticeable
Yeah, with limited fps the input lag is less
Finally fixed then! TLOU and Cyberpunk 2077 are the games on which I'll mostly use FG, though I am hopeful they come out with the new version of the upscaler.
Obrigado for the fast review 💪
um abraço!
And maybe one day it will be Cyberpunk 2077's turn.

@AncientGameplays Hey there, another nice one as usual! By any chance, do you know how to setup AMD Adrenalin in order to make it work properly in games that uses their own launchers? I've been searching for it but couldn't find any info anywhere!
This frame gen update looks so good.

Congratulations on 150K subscribers. I want to see more CPU testings specifically RX 7600 vs 7700 vs 5800X3D or 5700X3D since it's the best price to performance on AM4(and maybe toss in 7800X3D). $300+ for the 5800X3D is just not worth it when you can grab the 5700X3D for $190 all day long.

Im honestly hyped for more implementation of fsr. I have a 6900 xt which plays games perfectly in ultra but if I can squeeze a bit more juice out of it for a few more years, that would be awesome.
Not sure about all this frame gen stuff but I am getting around 23-25 less watts being used just sitting on the desktop watching youtube videos! I call that a big win with the 24.4.1 drivers!
(for reference my 7900XT was using 45-50 watts - dual monitor set up 1 @1440p and one @1080p - and now it is correctly downclocking the RAM and using 25-28 watts. Still 10 watts more than my 3060 but hey I'll take it)
Great!
Silky smooth !! 🤣😍
Finally I can back playing a Avatar Pandora with FSR 3.0. Also waiting for Horizon Forbidden West implementation FSR 3.0.😊
That's good but of late I'm having another weird problem where my games experience insane stutters with the FPS dropping to single digits before returning back to normal. It happens once like every minute and is starting to get annoying. Do you think it could be a driver issue?
Hey Fabio , I notice that when I enable any kind of frame generation ( dlss/ fsr ) I do notice more motion blur than running it natively on the same fps without frame generation. Any explanation to this or is it just placebo effect due to the latency?
Maybe Reddit question but, in “advanced control” FAN CURVES (Adrenaline) are the fan speeds and temps pulling from normal GPU temps or the hotspot temps? When playing with the curves?
Nice video 👍👍👍
I don’t have any of these games but does COD MW3 have the proper implementation, from what I’ve played with it seems smooth and I can’t notice any major additional input latency but I don’t have a base to compare off of I use FG it to ensure I get 240fps cuz I have 240hz
Hi Fabio! Espero que estés Bien!
Finally, if prices stay quiet, will get Mobo Tuf x670 , Ryzen 7 7700x , Asus Tuf AIO 3600 and adata CL32 6400 32gb ... Will be ok for gaming?
Thanks !
Did You try some extreme undervolting on your RX7900XT? Like I'm using RX 6800 XT on 2100 MHz at 0.881 V with 2100 MHz VRAM. It'd be interesting to see what RX 7900 XT can do at like 2200-2300 MHz with really low voltage
This is the lowest I go, 2500MHz
hopefully we get cdpr games with fsr 2.2 soon or at least 3.1 in some games so we can see the improvements in game by q4
It is confirmed that CP2077 should get FSR 3. Though seeing how long it takes them to come with the update I am even expecting them to implement FSR 3.1
Fala Fabio Pisco, liberaram atualização para TLOU tb. hahah está informando no video já!!!

i can't wait to see fsr 3.1 decoupled fluid motion😎
not being forced tu use the upscaling part of fsr to enable fluid motion is a huge + imo
especially if it can be used with xess or dlss
True! But I want fsr 3.1 more. Upscaling improvements are insane
@@AncientGameplays me too , because it could make the lower end amd gpu worth getting

Is a low budget Motherboard (Gigabyte B650 DS3H) paired with 7600x and 3080ti has good upgradability path? Especially for GPU? Cause this motherboard has PCIE 4.0 and I am planning to go from 3080ti to 5070 or higher (or AMD equivalent). I am a 1440p gamer.
kinda bummer having to do the vsync thingy that could be confusing to many but at least it works, does DLSS3 have the same issue? or in that regard dlss performs better?
Any game where u enable Frame gen from Nvidia works like this: The user turns on DLSS3 FG? Vsync + reflex always enabled automatically and the user can't change vsync and reflex in game settings, so always have Freesync/Gsync (to sync the frames inside the monitors refresh rate range) + Vsync (to delete the frames outside the monitors refresh rate) + reflex ( to delete the input lag induced by vsync). Every step is made automatically so u just have to enable Frame gen, AMD should follow the same when enabling FSR3 FG but right now is like u say, a bummer. Btw, AMD still hasn't a technology to avoid input lag like reflex, they made an anti lag + in drivers a while ago but they removed it.
That´s some good News! :)
Indeed!
In warzone you reccomend the same thing ? which is frame geration with fps limit so it can be less imput lag ? GREAT VIDEO by the way
warzone is not a single player game and most people want the lowest input latency available, so for me it would be FG OFF, BUT, you can try and see

9:40 I was actually updating RoboCop, because I thought they put AMD native AA, I like native AA despite de oversharpness, I would try to use 7 preview uniscaler to be able to use, xess with frame generation on Robocop, as the visual fidelity on Spiderman and other games is better on XeSS I would prefer it.
I've tested for some hours now on The Last of Us and it's finallly a feature i turned on and left it ON. It's actualy quite good in my case. I have a 6700XT, playing @ 60 FPS on High settings, with FSR3 Quality mode. On previous versions i tried FG and it was bad with FG@100FPS ... bad lag, bad stuttering, delays, realy bad, even worse than playing it at 60 FPS. Now on this patch its noticeable that the experience is much more fuild, lag/delay is not noticeabe at all, and i didnt see artifacts in image quality. Playing now at 100/120 FPS with FG is much much better than playing at 60FPS with FG disabled, wich is a first time for me. Definately recommend using FG on this game now, it's realy a revolutionaly technology finally.

the other advantage of this technology is that it allows the graphics card to be preserved over time; it remains to be seen the behavior of the frame gen with raytracing on AMD graphics cards.
And also a good implementation by the developers in quite a few games, but that is another subject.
Not about preservation that much, but I get your point
Finaly avatar finest experience it's Back!!
Im glad for all the people who depend on upscalers and/or FG to be able to enjoy modern games. And at some point obviously all of us encounter a time where our GPU is not up to date anymore 😅. Not all of us are PC enthusiasts (luckily I have a 7900xtx for the first time), but play on laptops or are just casual gamers. Like most people (I assume) I was buying low- / midrange GPUs my whole life cause of other priorities. Some regions dont even have the GPUs we would like to have or offer insanely expensive prices. I know VERY well what it means. So its nice to see that there is a better accessability with this technology so the gamer community can keep growing. Happy gaming folks!
FG is about high fps numbers. With more and more High refresh rate panels being the norm, having FG to double the frames when you already have a nice base FPS number is awesome (if it works well ofc)
@@AncientGameplays Lets hope it stays that way or gets improved further in more games too!

This is great! Just need more FSR3 dev support. I've been experimenting with zluda. Only problem is when games do guid checks. I get the idea that guid check for game optimization though but it's also just nvidia being nvidia. I'm able to download nvidia software also if it isn't within the last month as nvidia hates zluda now that it's getting better. AMD should've never let the project go. Saying cuda was useless for them in 2020 is biting them in rhe butt now when it comes to AI. I'm glad the guy that worked on it and got laid off made it open source
I had to reinstall last drivers, frame gen in this update made all my games move way too fast and even tho I had it off it was acting like it was on.
I tried TLOU again tonight after the update and i have to say, it still feels better without FG and just with DLSS quality. Still feels smooether without it desoite the lower fps number. Im guessing jts a frame time consistency thing
Yeah, something is off there mate, I can guarantee you that now, FG at 140FPS will fell much better than even 100FPS no FG... Something's off there (maybe the CPU can't keep frame consistency?)
Also, remember to ALWAYS disable motion blur when using FG
@@AncientGameplays hrmmm 5700x3d should be ok? Something just feels off with the motion. Don't gete wrong it felt better, but I just found myself going back to 80fps without it than 120fps with it on (frame limited to 60)
I wonder if this is what's wrong with DCS today. I'm having all kinds of issues. DCS doesn't use FSR3 it's still just FSR.
But as I learned from you, I capped my FPS slightly below my monitors 165 fps, and life has been good.
But today, my FPS is going well above 250fps, and all the text I'm my cockpit is blurry, my GPU is running hot, and it's just the opposite of smooth. It's more like cottage cheese.

Robocop has a very good implementation of FSR3 Frame Generation!! I've tested 60fps capped (with Radeon Chill) and FG Off and then 60fps capped but with Frame Gen that results in 120fps fixed FPS, and the fluidity and smoothness is night and day. It truly feels much more than 60fps when moving the mouse! Frame Gen with a good implementation it truly works!!
Tested the same but with AFMF, and it still gives good fluidity, but with mouse and keyboard in FPS games the tech gets off and the experience is not so good. Cant understand why other games dont feel so good like Robocop
