Wow! How serendipitous that I stumbled across this video today. Just last week I bought a set of old but unused Stampin’ Up rubber stamps. They’re with their wooden blocks in the container but not yet adhered to them. This is a wonderful solution!!! Thank you so much. Blessings to you! 😊

I have watched soooo many of these videos to get hints and tips, prior to tackling my 40+ years of buying (hoarding) wood mounted stamps. Your video is clear, precise, quick with no unnecessary talking, easy to follow instructions and over all the best one yet! You have a great voice as well. I absolutely love your idea of cutting off the strips and keeping them in a container, I am going to do that. Thank you very much!

I have done this to at least 30 stamp sets so far. I am able to store all my stamps together now. And it will also help me stamp without the stamp a ma jig. Most of my stamp sets were made between 1995 and 2014. I really like these older stamps and use a Scan N Cut to fussy cut my stamped images. Thanks for sharing this info. I have used the Tombow glue to re-stick the stamps. And I found some great clear envelopes to store my sets in. I also found some clear bins to hold the stamp sets.
I am so excited to have all my stamps in one space and only taking up a few shelves instead of the space they needed in containers. I truly love Stampin' Up products. I will try the stickers too.

Thank you for your comments. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I must have had 20 boxes that I converted to a fraction of the storage space. Happy stamping and God Bless you!

Great idea for the red rubber stamps!! And, a great solution for the 'clear' stamp labels that don't stick to the acrylic block. So, Stampin' Up offered a Cling Adhesive...well that stuck to my acrylic blocks or the inside of the stamp box, but not the stamp lablels. Sheesh! Thank you for sharing this great solution for both!

This is brilliant Jeannie, especially the wonderful tip about using the excess bits from newer sets we might have!

I have a question. I have so many wood stamps from years past. I have not started buying new Stampin Up stamps so I do not have any of the sticky tape to put on the back of the stamps after I removed them from the wood. Is there anywhere that you can buy some of this paper so that it's possible to convert all these stamps? And, if there is any of that sticky paper out there, is there any ideas about what to stick the stamps too to store them until they are needed? I need to clean out a closet that is just crammed with these stamps so would appreciate any help.

Sheri Stampin’ Up! does have the cling material for sale in the Online Exclusive section item #152452. If you are not a demonstrator you can find it on my website jeannierainey.stampinup.net. You can also buy the empty Stamp Cases for sale item #119105 there too.

A pallet knife works well to pry them loose.

I did this on over 500 wood blocks and after a few years they began to warp as in curl up. So I left another 1000+ on the blocks.

Oh no, I haven’t had that issue. I wonder if it has to do with the weather where you live, perhaps humidity or dryness? 🤷‍♀️ sorry that happened. I leave the rubber in the middle between the red rubber and the sticker, could that be something perhaps?

As others have said Jeannie, this is such a good video - concise but including everything we need to know. May I ask a question about the foam/rubber in between the stamp and the wood? I have wondered about peeling the stamp off then putting it on another piece of foam/rubber as some people recommend this, but maybe I don't need to? It's quite expensive too! Stay safe & be well - waving from across the pond🙂

Ruth, thank you for your kind words! Years ago I had found some of the foam you spoke of, meant to replace the foam in between the red rubber and the sticker. But I found that I didn’t really need it for most of the stamps. Although a couple times when I wasn’t careful, I did damage the foam in between. I’ll try to find where I got it and get back with you with the information.

I’m sorry after re-reading your comment, I see you don’t need the info regarding the foam. I think the only time I used it was for Non-Stampin Up stamps.

Great tips! Thank you. I purchased pre-owned Stampin up rubber stamps. I would like to convert them to cling just as you did.
My purchase came with a lot of of Justrite rubber stamps but without the stamper. Each of the rubber stamp has grooves at the back. I like to attach a foam to make it flat. Could you recommend a type of/ brand of foam that I could use for stamps? The cling that you used in this video, it’s a gel type stamp that you could use as stamps or it’s just plain cling/ tape to convert stamps?
    Any recommendation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for sharing your techniques in a clear and concise manner.

    • @jeannielrainey-clearimpres4462
      @jeannielrainey-clearimpres4462  Před rokem +1

The cling material comes from the excess of a new cling stamp. Rather than throw away after I assemble the stamp, I save it to use when I need to convert a clear mount or wood mount. I cut around the edges off first because it makes very nice straight strips.
