    Hi Julia! I have recently discovered your channel and am enjoying all your tips and tricks. I was delighted to come across your video about the SU stampin wheels. I have quite a collection from when they were popular but haven't used them in years. I was even thinking of throwing them out or donating them until I saw how you repurposed them to use in the Misti. What a wonderful idea! I had heard there was a way to remount wood block stamps, but I never had a clear understanding of how to do it and what to use until I started watching some of your older videos. Thank you so much for sharing all your talents. I really want to get into donating my cards and you have taught me that just because I don't especially like one of my cards, someone else might like it. As long as card is "road worthy" (I believe that's the term you used) put it in the donation box! Thanks for the encouragement! You're the best!!!

      Glad it was helpful! I remount stamps all the time - just did one this morning in fact. I only remount when they are not stamping well so I can use on a platform. But a lot of people pull their wood to save space. There is another video that shows another idea that I came up with here - czcams.com/video/tHsVxkxjaY4/video.html And I am starting to do never mounted wood this way.

    • @SeniorSusieStamps

      Hi Lisa - I find it is rarely the rubber. But the older stamps foam can be really hard and dry. When you replace the foam they stamp like new. I honestly have only had a handful where it was an issue with the rubber stamp.

    Thank you so much Susie! I was given several containers of rubber stamps still on the wood and I love using my misti when stamping, in case I need to stamp it again. I haven't used the rubber stamps for that reason. Now I can! Yippe!! Thank you again.

      I hope so too! Only a handful of my stamps the rubber has been the problem. All the rest, it has been the foam that got hard. Best of luck! Did you happen to see this video also? • @SeniorSusieStamps

      You are very welcome Brenda! I have found over the years that when a wooden stamp doesn't stamp properly, it is usually that the foam under the rubber has dried out and is no longer resilient when you press it down. I don't routinely pull stamps off wood, but it's a good back up plan to know about!

      I have a huge collection of wood stamps. And I only do remount if they are not stamping well, or if I want to do precision stamping on the platform. It's almost always the foam layer that has dried out, not the rubber. It would be overwhelming to think about remounting the entire collection...

    Thank you for making this video! I have some unmounted red rubber stamps from Purple Onion and although I have their mounting block to use with their stamps I think mounting them with the foam would be easier because then they are all ready to use without having to interchange them on the one block. Julia, how did you come up with this idea? If only I knew about this a few years ago I might have kept more of my wood block stamps!!! At the time I had a space issue, although now since my husband passed away last year I now have created my craft room and have plenty of room. I only kept around 20 stamps that I removed from their wood blocks, and those stamps now sit in a storage case on a shelf in my craft room. I really enjoy seeing new tips and tricks... thank you, and have a blessed day. : )

    wow! love how you did this. I have a bunch that I bought from eBay. By the way, how did you remove the rubber off of the block holder was it hard to get off?

    • @SeniorSusieStamps
      @SeniorSusieStamps  Před měsícem

      Hi Clara - I am glad to find another soul that buys used stamps!! Welcome! I love having the options this re-mounting technique give you. Now, with some stamps the rubber just peels off but others can be a bit problematic. I find a thin dull knife can help you with those, just to get a little starting place to pull the rubber off. If they are really stuck, warm them up carefully with your hairdryer/heat tool. Not too close or too hot. The heat softens the adhesive and they become easier to pull. You can take a gum eraser and get most of the adhesive residue off after they are pulled. And sometimes just rubbing vigorously with your finger will start an adhesive rollup that will pull the rest of the adhesive off too. Every stamp is a bit different, so be prepared for that. I have some now that the previous owner has used some really tacky glue to adhere it to the foam, so wish me luck!!

      Thank you so much for the reply. I'll need to get the sheets first before I do anything. Yeah but if I try and take off the rubber then I'll be ready to stick the adhesive on. Again thanks for your detailed reply it helps. Have an awesome day.
