    I have converted hundreds of wood block stamps to cling this year. I've watched many videos and learned something from each. Thank you for sharing. Here are a few things I've learned. StazOn ink, an alcohol ink, dries pretty quickly on the EZ Mount foam, but is permanent. If the foam doesn't come off easily from the rubber, microwaving for 6-8 seconds has helped me. I have also used a straight edge razor blade at times. To save on the cost of EZ mount by NOT using it for every stamp, I have often been able to remove the plastic image from the wood mount as well as remove the foam and rubber in one piece from the wood. I then put the plastic image on the foam. I trim the plastic and then paint on a thin layer of tack it over again and again temporary adhesive. It stays tacky so will cling to a storage piece of acetate as well as a misti. If not thoroughly dry, some of that tacky adhesive will come off onto the misti. (Easy to clean off with Goo Gone) . I have even stamped on thick plastic packing tape (when the image doesn't come off the block) and put that on top of the foam. Another tip (if you have the energy) is to run a ribbon of strong drying clear glue, such as "Crafter's Pick The Ulitmate water based super glue" from Hobby Lobby (8 oz for $5.49) around the perimeter of the plastic and foam. This helps keep the plastic adhered to the foam when stamping with your newly converted wood block to cling stamp.

      Thanks for this additional info!!! Sooooo helpful. I didn't really want to peel off the gray foam just to add more.... I have been able to use most and not have to use the EZ Mount foam. I used your packing tape method on some Wordsworth block stamps that doesn't have the adhesive tape label on the wood...it is stamped right on the wood. Using the staz on on the packing tape is genius.

    I read the question about what to do with the blocks. Many I did throw away because it isn't safe to burn them since they have been treated. One idea I have used with a few favorite blocks is to make a "pressing tool" for my MISTI. I use a block that fits nicely in my hand and put felt on the bottom. I use the felt that is used to put on the bottom of furniture. It is strong and durable. I have some sheets of it purchased in a pack from Home Depot or Costco.

    Another point I forgot to mention, I stamp the image with Staz-On Ink onto the plastic tape of sticky acetate, THEN after it dries, I attach it to the foam. If the original foam from the blocks is too brittle or is deteriorated, use the EZ mount method above.

    Thank you for a very efficient way to remove block stamps to cling stamps. I have found so many block stamps that I really liked but they are not user friendly for having to stamp a second time. I was able to peel the stamps off but then what do I do? Thank you for showing me a way to do this. Great video

    Hi, because I absolutely loathe working with Eezimount because of how it ruins my scissors and penknives and you can never cut precise enough around the edge, i try get my stamp back to just the rubber base then I use a simple wind out school glue stick (like pritt) to attach it to my stamping platform lid. It then just peels off when done and the lid is cleaned with a quick sweep of a baby wipe.

      Good question, the gray backing of the EZ-Mount will cling to the Misit to allow for re-inking.

    Thanks for the great video! You make it look so easy to get the stamp off of the wooden block! What if it doesn't just peel off? Is there a method you used
    ...maybe undu or something else to break the seal? Or did all of your stamps just peel off of the wooden block like you showed?

    • @BestCraftOrganizer
      @BestCraftOrganizer  Před 2 lety

      Hi Lisa, Great question! All of the blocks in the bag did peel off pretty easy. However, if you have any that are being tricky, you can heat the block up in the microwave for 10 seconds.

  • @online22much
    @online22much Před 2 lety +1

    I'm guessing that a black archival ink would work as well..takes less time to dry. Thanks for sharing...I've used this method as well as putting the stamps in the microwave and coating those with Tack It Over adhesive. I also write the company name and stock number on the cling side of the EZ Mount or the raw rubber.

    Perfect timing. I just set up my craft room after not crafting for 3 years. I was wondering what to do with my old block stamps. I rarely use them because I do t see them in the box. Where do you get the stamp sheet to stick it to? And the pouches. I think I missed that

      Laminate!!!!! Don't waste money on the pockets, make your own pockets with a scotch laminator and MM of your choice ! Pennies a pouch and add a seal if you want even or button, snap or velcro. Slip a comic book board inside for clings and boom. Save yourself from handing over tons of money that's easily made by yourself with literally zero skills needed too. 👌
