Intel Arc drivers are have been improved a lot, please consider them as competitors to the rtx3060 and Radeon 6600 (mid-range).

I built my first pc last year with rx6800 with the intention of 1440p gaming. For my main games like apex legends, rainbow 6 siege it runs really well achieving really high frames on high but I have noticed it struggle a bit more on single player games. Frames do drop and the visually don't run as well - I find myself capping the frames around 85fps and setting some graphics settings to low or medium but it's a decent card.

I'm using a 6700 and it's been perfect for me, 100+ FPS in every game I play at 1440p. I've overclocked and undervolted it too.

A good middle point card for 1440P high or 4 medium low is the 6700XT. It's got enough vram and gpu grunt to do both well for it's price point.

Isn't the rx 570 too weak? Most games now recommend GPUs like the 1660/2060 and it probably won't run new games like sons of the forest
These are my minimums, and the RX 570 is the min GPU I would go with at 1080p in 2023. You'll find them used for about $75.
Personally i wouldn't go lower than 3080 at 4K for Nvidia side, i feel like for many AAA you would need to play with a mix of medium high settings. For 1080p i think that if you're on a budget, a GTX 1660 or GTX 1070 would still do the job well but maybe i'm wrong, i didn't see much updated benchs on these gpus

I play Destiny 2 more than anything which is a CPU-intensive game but also being an first person shooter requires a strong gpu. Currently I'm running an intel i5 11400F with an RTX 2060 and I can get about a steady 75 fps at 1440p What minimum CPU/GPU combo could I upgrade to for high fps 1440p/potentially 4k?

get a 4080 super if you dont have anything yet, i got the 7800x3d and 4080 regular and play games at 4k 60 fps vsync, and dont use upscaling and its perfect.
Still using a rtx 2060 super wich is practically on par with a 3060 and its great tho hopefully the rx 7700 xt will change that im so ready for an upgrade haha

I have problem with choosing motherboard for my MSI 3060 ventus 3x so it will give me as many fps as possible with i5 13500
Consider buying a cheaper Z690 board with bios flashback. Same price as the decent B660/B760 boards with no system agent limitations on the RAM voltage for DDR4.

6600 is a budget GPU, you won't be able to power that monitor with a majority of games. See our Best Gaming Monitor 2023 video, we go over what setups can fit with what monitors. We do have a 2024 version coming but the 2023 version will help for now

Hey I want to run fortnite low settings 1080p what would you recommend 240 fps
I play games like little nightmares 2 with a GTX 1080 TI and it ran with 95 fps average and many more games on high graphics at around the same area but also played on 4k but the fps was very inconsistent
1080 has had its day but they’re over now unless you play on low settings. I upgraded to a 3080 12GB last year from a 1080. It was a good GPU.

Hey Jason i've noticed that the 5 5600x bottle necks the 3070 on some games(call of duty) but I don't know if its just my computer. I was wondering if u have any tips to gain more fps. Ive also noticed that im getting the same fps on basic quality preset and high quality presets.
Overclocking might reduce the bottleneck you could try that
Clean windows install will usually fix a lot of issues. Update those chipset drivers, turn PBO to "enabled" in the bios (instead of just "auto), make sure you have at least 2x8gb DDR4 3200 CL16 RAM. Close background programs. That fixes a lot of issues.

i have an rx 580 and it struggles on diablo 4 1080p on medium in the 50 fps. my 3060 does well on 1080p ultra though. For 1440p I'd consider a 3060ti/6700xt or higher

Brother my 4k2k monitor is huge and even with a 3070 overclocked twice just get 45-60 fps in its highest setting in rdr2 and get 75-100 fps in forza horizon 5 with its highest settings,Also get a 40-45 fps in gta 5 without highest settings,also get 45-55 in cyberpunk 2077 with highest setting and also get a 350-450 fps in valorant with highest setting.

These are minimum levels, so 60 FPS at 4K in most titles at high settings. If you want more FPS at 4K then go bigger.

A 3070 (with i7 11700k) can run Valorant, CS2 to more than 240 fps, and even Dota 2 to a little bit over the 200s. Cyberpunk at Ultra / DLSS quality / No RT gets about 75 fps stable >90% of the time. I'm giving examples in 1440p btw. The 4070ti can do so much better and will probably get you to the 100s on more demanding titles. Not to mention there's frame generation. You'll for sure get better results with the right CPU combination with the 4070 ti.

Who games on a two mem slot mother? I do. I always had a 4 slot motherboard capable of SLI, but I never filled all mem slots, nor used SLI/Crossfire. I had to make the cut... don't worry the mobo has PCIe 4.0 and M2.

I play AAA games at 1440p on a 3600x and a 2070 super and run amazing. Still surprised I can run some of these newer games at 1440p and still get 144 fps on a minimum

If you are playing cyberpunk then for 4k there is literally nothing. There is no way to play cyberpunk 2077 at max graphics on 4k without dlss (or the amd equivelent)

For blender and production work you'll want nvidia. If it fits your budget I'd go for the 4090. If not, I'd pair with the highest level nvidia that fits. Depends on the title, i have a rx 6800 pulse for my 144 Hz 1440p monitor, it can handle almost every game with Max settings at 144 fps, exept some AAA title
I have a 6700xt with Ryzen 5600x and a regular 1440p moniter. I get about 70-80 fps on Halo Infinite on high settings. So I would go for the 6800xt.

I wouldn't even use a 3070 for 4k. 8gbs is already cutting it close for 1440p
I can't recommend any new Nvidia or AMD gpu, they both have screwed the user base over. Only buy second hand if you want a Geforce or Radeon card so that you don't give Jensen money to a new leather jacket.

How much fps for each resolution?
These are my minimums for each resolution, so 60 FPS at each resolution in most titles at high settings and 100+ FPS for eSports recommendations. Obviously some games are easier to run than others (think Cyberpunk vs Fortnite).
Don't think 3070 is fast enough to max stuff out at 4k with 60 fps min.
