Bruh all these early people saying “love the video” “it was amazing!” It came out 3 minutes ago. It’s a 12 minute video.
Edit: Bro some people are getting mad lol
10/10 comment, however I didn't get past "bruh" so take that with a grain of salt.
Video so good I didn't even have to watch it to enjoy
I know right, so damn annoying, half of them are probably bots though

I download the video offline and watch it in 3x speed. Although I didn't comment that, just saying.
I remember watching the "4K Gaming is Dumb" video when it came out a few years ago. Now it's actually viable on a $1000 machine! How time flies
That was back when 4k was expensive making it a new and cool although a gimmick to most people, now it's all getting reasonably affordable
@@loop5720 Well yes, that's basically what I implied
4k Gaming is still dumb. Can actually sum up what's wrong with the society. We spend so much money/power for something noone can see just to be able to flash with it in the local pub / social media.
@@CsacsaThe Or perhaps people just like fast PCs?
@@shootinbruin3614 And that's the thing. Fastness is wasted if 4k is turned on for no tangible upside. I have a fast PC, and 2k on 27" is reasonable from one feet with high fps. That's the sweet spot, and anything else is overkill or simply just not noticable
I just checked on the power supply mentioned in the video. Instead of the $90 dollars, he listed. Amazon lists it for $169. I believe this is going to be well over the $1000 dollar mark with today's prices.

@@BigPumpSmoke yeah i like 1440p 170hz at 27in
I agree with these guys, unless you have a big screen then you are better off focusing on higher refresh rate, higher quality 1440p.
@@BigPumpSmoke I just got a 1440p144 27in screen up from 1080p75 and it's such a great experience. So glad I spent $250 on this Odyssey G5, I agree with these people. 4K should probably be pushed aside unless you really need it.
Yeah, wouldn't want to game on 4k with 60 FPS, especially shooters benefit so freakingly much from high FPS, it's unreal. Definetly a nice rig for 1080p and really high refresh rate or 1440p 144Hz.
And to add to that, gaming on am Ultrawide 21:9 is the real sweetspot currently in my opinion. More vision, still decent FPS. (had 100-120 FPS with my old 2080s).
But I would rather game on 240 Fps at 1080p than 60 fps at 4k.
@@BigPumpSmoke 27 inch and smaller is my recommendation for 1440p unless you go with a larger ultrawide monitor. Than stick with 1440p. If it's not ultrawide and it's more than 32inch go for 4k
I'm building a PC for gaming this weekend (I already spent a lot of money), only waiting on the NVMe to arrive.

Is 1k considered budget
@@avonire I mean yeah any amount of money is considered budget
@@avonire budget is a term used to describe price range, someones budget can be 5k.
@@avonire for a gaming rig YES. Especially these days when we just got our gpu’s back to msrp.
nvidia over ordered from tsmc thinking the shortage would still be a thing, but it isn't anymore (well in the US anyway) so expect cheaper GPU's for sure. Supply and demand baby.
Have a friend that's been wanting to build and seeing this pop into my feed makes me feel so happy that I can actually recommend a good 4K rig for around 1K. Crazy.
Recommend a 27" 1440p 144hz monitor for it though, 4K monitors above 60hz (which you definitely need) are too expensive to be worth it at this budget
@@swecreations then the whole 4k thing is useless...
@@xBintu the Rtx 3070 isn’t even a 4K graphics card so it will usually run at 4K 60 fps on most games anyway
@@xBintu 4k is your monitor not your graphics card, what rig you have doesn't determine what resolution you're playing at. If he wants to get over 100fps which is likely something he wants he needs to have a 1440p monitor, 3070 isn't enough for more than 60hz 4K gaming, and 4K monitors over 60hz cost like $700 minimum while a decent 1440p 144hz monitor costs $300.
"that i can recommend a good 4k build for around 1k" In what world is this a "good 4k rig"
This is running at 50-60 fps on MEDIUM settings, on halo infinite, which is actually not a very graphically challenging game. It runs to complete potatoes. If you're running your build at 60 fps these days it's not a "good" build in any sense of the word. It's not even a "medium" build. Its a low to base build. The difference between 60 fps and 144-360 FPS is mind boggling once you actually see it. I would never recommend this build for somebody to play "4k" on.
I recently put a pc together for a friend around this price range with very similar specs. He came from a HASWELL i5!!!! And a gtx 970. All with a 7200rpm Toshiba hard drive. I chose an nvme m.2 Samsung 980 500gb. Was a good price. I’ll never forget his reaction to the speed of that drive vs what he was used to. Nvme is lightning fast compared to even the recent standard 2.5 ssd.
Can we get a link to the full build? 😊
i can imagine his reaction haha. i myself upgraded from a gt 710 and a pentium cpu to a gtx 1660 and a ryzen 5 3600. i was mindblown by how good pc's can actually be lol, even though my rig is pretty much the most average gamer rig of today. it feels so much better actually being able to play the newest games.
@@Bearical same feeling when i went froma standard laptop to a ryzen 5 3500x gtx 1650 last 2 yrs ago and now ill be able to upgrade to a ryzen 5 5600x gtx 3060ti for future pc and giving my old rig to my brother best feeling ever
Its nice to see that getting a really good rig in the 1000-1500$ range instead of having to pay 2000-3000$ is finally a thing again, and you can still get a great machine for below 1000$ especially if you’re not building from scratch and are just looking to upgrade some parts.
Your $500 build a couple of weeks ago inspired me to build a pc again with these great prices. I ended up with almost exact same components as yours. I was able to get the CPU, GPU, RAM, PSU, and motherboard, cpu cooler (looks like I didnt need one) all at Microcenter, and then add components from a previous build. I am beyond happy with the performance considering my last build was an i7-4770k + GTX1060.
Why does everyone have/had a 4770k + 1060 build??? Haha, me too.

I briefly worked as delivery for burger King, and there was one day I just hard goofed and swerved after hitting a pothole (also my back brake was fucked so o ly my front wheel braked and locked) and had a pretty show-y crash, I was ok, had a jacket and a helmet, but I could never be 100% confident riding a bike from then on
how was the bike did it survive?
oops my bad
I'm running that exact model of 3070. Got lucky during the scalpocalypse. Sure, it's not a top-end maximum overclock model, but the money you save is definitely worth giving up the 1% extra FPS.
Those Zotac mined GPUs are the worse, the Vram overheats on them and the fans constantly break. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to touch a zotach mined GPU, probably die within 9 months
I also have the same model, back pre-LHR. It's great at cooling even in those terrible 2000s-style, $20, low-end, $500 build style cases. Temps keep low even with terrible cooling.
bruuuuh an RTX 3070 is the same as an RTX 2080 Ti which was TOP-TIER for some time...so yeah it's a pretty solid GPU lol...
Honestly, I can play every game own on ~90 FPS. I don't need to pull more watts, but looking forward to a more efficient GPU in the future ...
You wont recognize those 1-6 fps different
FYI - a lot of mid to higher-end cases will have that middle 'locating' standoff, I've found.
Personally, I believe another part of 'futureproofing' your rig is to spend a little more on a nicer case at the outset... my reasoning being that the PSU and the case are the two biggest PITA components to replace or swap... in my view, it's better to save some aggravation later by spending a little more up front. I know cheap cases are enticing and might make a budget go farther, but they are awful to build in, and even worse to do the reverse... having recently moved my kids' system out of a Bitfenix Prodigy case into a Corsair 4000D Airflow, I spent more time trying to undo all the wiring than I did putting everything into the new case!
There is a lot of concern recently about transient power spikes and it is likely that future graphics cards will require new and better built PSUs. That puts a lot of doubt on buying a better PSU right now as an investment.
I agree. I bought a great cooler master HAF case that can use 4 200mm fans back in 2009 and 13 years later I am still using it. Sure it's a little on the big side but it will always be able to hold whatever components years into the future.
I'm just going to get shares in Apple, the way it's going SOC is unfortunately going to become all too common.
Thankfully I live in the EU, so we have very strict right to repair laws, even forcing Apple to stop gluing their cases shut!
Can definitely approve of a good case being futureproofing.
While my current one ain't terrible, it was more and the cheaper side and there were definitely moments were i went "FK THIS SHIT!" when i put my current components in there. Especially the CPU power, there was barely any room for my hands to be able to reach the darn thing due to the heatspreaders everywhere in that area.
Yeah Cases are one of the components that last half a eternity and can see multiple builds passing by...so putting a little more into it and get some nice case with space and useful stuff and gimmicks, is almost a must, atleast for me.
Thats why i run the Coolermaster H500M, its spacious, but no too big, has one of the best Airflows is pretty quiet (most the time until the fans ramp up to shove more air thru to your GPU and CPU that run high loads, i'm using Gigabytes SIV and built in Smart Fan Client for the curves) and has a good load of USB and USB-C connectors etc pp, not to mention the little GPU support thing and all the places to put SSDs into. ;)
Also im using a BeQuiet! Straight Power 11 850W Platinum PSU so, that is also already up for the challenges ahead.
Don't worry Linus , i too love budget builds , their performance to cost ratio to that of high end rigs is ridiculously impressive
9:35 the way she hits and shakes the GPU and whole build just makes my heart drop, ESPECIALY SINCE IT'S LINUS, THE DROPPING THINGS GUY. IT'S HIS WHOLE THING!

This video reminded me the passion for building PCs. Thanks for this kind of content!
I’m glad to see more builds on the channel again 😀
I'm so excited to see pc builds on this channel again, videos like these are what got me into ltt
I built my first pc in 2008, but for some reason I still enjoy watching videos like these, where Linus runs through the basics of pc building, specially now that gpu prices are going down.
I just built pretty much identical build (slightly different i5, slightly worse 3060 from my old rig etc.) and now I'm looking at getting a new case and power supply for it since my old case just doesn't support enough case fans to keep it cool. Certainly putting a mesh front panel into the list of 'desired features'.
Have been watching LTT since the launch of 10th gen intel, recently started my first PC build and chose mostly similar parts even without copying any part list
Guess it really helps by learning all the bits and pieces of PC building, it's real fun
(OK I got an FSP 650W Bronze PSU but my next upgrade may need 12VHPWR so it's somehow a placeholder lol
Definitely a good move removing that hard drive cage. I have a 550 G3 in my P300 and even that left little room for tucking away cables behind the mechanical drives
Note for if you plan to emulate this build! I've got this case with a psu that does fit the HD cage, it will be a tight tight fit for only 1 HD with all the cable management in the bottom bay and that the bottom does not get airflow; so mind the heat impact on your hardware down there.
Just bought this exact built, and built my own PC for the first time because of this video!! Thanks so much :D (changed the ssd and psu for other part,+ added hdd but still!)
I started watching LTT right after I made my second pc, and its good to know that I got a solid bang for the buck. Now I just gotta get into the world of overclocking.
Whenever Linus is handling hardware it feels like a thriller. I am constantly worried that he will drop stuff
I clenched my ass cheeks so hard as he slammed into the already installed GPU!
If he *doesn't* drop something in a video at least once, the video is ruined. 0/10.
Why are you worried? You can be sure he drops something. :)

Well gotta appreciate the clean 1000$ pc built even in 2022,Nice work Linus!
that case looks awesome, ingenious design to maximize airflow while appearing to have a front lol
I've already got the case, some fans, an SSD... decent PSU... but can't get the rest until after finishing my studies in 2024. Let's hope the budget PC market gets better rather than worse, nice to see a build this attainable on LTT.
What a relief to see affordability returning to gaming. As a nerd who will be building his own computer soon (assuming everything doesn't go to pot economically) I'm thrilled. Thanks!
Hey, budget setups are always cool and all, but you guys should try revisiting a power efficient setup, I think those are really interesting. Maybe how efficient you can get a good performance PC by undervolting it. One thing I couldn't help notice about my PC was that it was a massive space heater, in addition to the hidden costs of running it via power consumption and even blasting the AC, I've been really considering getting a Macbook, so I would love to see alternatives to my problems on the Windows side of things
Nice. I'm finally upgrading from a i7 2600 and v5900, I hope you guys will do more noise evaluations on builds. That's more important to me than an extra 2 FPS in games I don't play.
Awesome! I upgraded from an i5-2500k in March to an i7-12700k earlier this year.
I’d love this as a series, increasing the value by 500 for each episode to see what we can get as bang for the buck. Topping out at 3000 id imagine would be awesome to watch
That's a great idea
My first build I used this case and had zero issues with any cable management even using an AIO and adding fans. I did read some reviews that said cable management was bad with this case, but I have no Idea how they thought that.

I got the same case, glad to hear it wasn't a bad purchase.
That power supply choice makes good sense. EVERY PC I've ever had at home / my business that has failed has been power supply related (except of course for some old, used HDDs that I was using...) Use a quality power supply if you want the thing to last! I am loyal to Seasonic because they have never let me down, but there are other quality PSU makers.
Refreshing to see budget builds again. I bought a 2080Ti pre-covid, just-pre-3080 for $600, built an SFFPC, and kinda checked out when GPU prices went crazy. Might have to go on the lookout for a 3080 10G or 3080Ti now...
you can give me that 2080 t,i i paid the same price for a 1660 super
This is basically my build that I completed 3 months ago but all parts are new and I have a 2tb nvme m.2 SSD, water cooler and 5 more fans with RGB. It runs everything I play at max setting well above 60 fps.
BTW, a buddy of mine showed me your channel. I at first played it off, but MAN this sucker grew on me!!! I LOVE YOUR CONTENT!

GPU prices have yet to change here for me, they still cost so much (and have been used for well over 9 months of constant mining, lowest one I found at least)
if you watch linus a lot he made a video in which he explained that mining cards don't lose a lot of performance if used even for years at a time so I believe that you should've bought the mining card
@@yashowardhanchaudhary5532 my point was that not only is it above msrp (about 1300$) but it’s also been used for a long time for constant mining, the seller said that they’ve changed out the thermal pads and overclocked it (not that it would have warranty anyways since it’s used) but if anything were to happen with it then they wouldn’t be responsible, which is something I’d rather not risk especially not at that steep of a price (talking about a 3080 btw)
Same here. Prices hadn't changed in a year. The woes of an island economy. Here, it's the big chains and official distributors who scalp you, no need for third-party scalpers.
@@YHK_YT overclocked is kinda a red flag, any miner who cares about his rig and GPU would undervolt for more efficiency instead of squeezing every drop of performance..
4:14 In September 2020 I paid $75 for G.Skill's 32GB 3600 CL16 version of this DDR4 kit (F4-3600C16D-32GVKC). Right now as I type this, that same kit is $135 on Newegg and $146 on Amazon. Don't get ripped off paying for RAM. DDR5 price/performance is so bad that they decided to inflate the cost of DDR4 ahead of time so DDR5 looked like a reasonable price upon launch. This wouldn't be the first... or second.. or third time DRAM manufacturers have been guilty of price fixing.
I have zero need to build another pc. But the joy of unboxing all the components and snapping things together is just so fun. It’s like building a very expensive Lego set (even those are expensive now) might have to consider building a budget pc.
I've checked prices here in EU, and even with second hand stuff it still going to be (at least for me) around 1300-1500$.
I mean, it's not tragic, but still quite expensive.
Pro tip: if your cpu cable is long enough, plug the routed cable in first, then put the motherboard in the case.
Nice and hopeful build 😁
But couldn't you get at least one good case fan for 1000 bucks to optimize the airflow and temps a little more? That hurts a tiny bit 😅
id pay $25 more and get an antec df700 flux with 3 front rgb fans and two non-rgb fans
@@sql64 exactly.
Exactly, I only paid 100 bucks for my corsair 4000D, and this thing is everything I needed and more
@@connorbaxter1131 I paid 134 for a Lancool mesh ll. It has lots of room, and came with 3 rgb.
I built my first pc 2 years ago right before all the prices went to shit. Watched these type of videos and ya know i still don’t know what half the shit means but I know enough to know what’s good and what’s bad. Still love watching these videos.
Time I had a new PC, I might try this, thxs for your expertise in picking the components
I love this video!!! Back to old LTT!
I'd just like to say about the hard drive cage, I totally agree. At this point, you don't need any hard drives anymore unless you're storing files for a long long time. Games can easily fit into SSD's now and just get a NAS for video and photo content. You can even install Plex on it then
That's not really practical for a lot of people. Hard drives still very much have a place in lots of people's PCs.
ssd diskspace in relations to hdd if we talk real estate in your pc just aren't cost efficient.
4tb ssd cost like 300 € here and if you just get a hybrid hdd for half the price you won't feel the difference for gaming.
unless it's load intensive but i would always run 1tb m2 with a bit of cache and 4tb hdd hybrid to load games faster over time.
THANK YOU LTT!! For real. Never found ANY other Channel to show to a Customer on WHY I choose a particular type of Hardware. Easy to understand, easy to recreate and even more: Easy to set up. REALLY, LOVE you People over there. And to the point I can match Anthony, I will continue to dream about working for you. Jokes aside, Anthony is the best.
9:37 that tapping grated me a bit.
I recently upgraded to an 850w psu myself recently and i gotta say that needing 850w just to be safe is insane these days. I remember when people said anything more than 650w was overkill. With that said, I'd much rather go for a 6800 XT or a 6900 XT for this build. Both are around the same price as a 3070 but are significantly faster in most games.
I would use just the 6800 not the XT because the 6800 outperforms the 3070 and the XT is about 300 to 200 dollars than the 3070
I built a rig with a 1000w psu in 2018 because I had planned on expanding with SLI 2080tis. That's when SLI support died off and I got lucky with these new cards and cpus using double the power they used to.
6800 and 6900 are so much more expensive wdym
You'll be missing out on that sweet RTX in single player games though
@@trippinhard250 that is definitely not needed, most people barely use rtx
This actually makes me feel quite good about my 1.5k budget for the pc I'm building this summer. I was worried I would need to settle for a 3060, but I guess I just wasn't looking for 3070s in the right spots!
1500-1600 is 3080/6900xt pc money easily lol you don’t even have to go used
Are you sure? Aren't Nvidia 40 series and AM5/Raptor Lake about to come out?
don't buy a gpu with only 8gb of vram in 2022 its just not a good idea. wait for 40 or buy a 6800xt.
1.5k in my country isnt budget 😭😭
@@Altair2786 he is not saying 1500 is a "budget" build. What he's saying is that his budget for the pc build is 1500.
yeah, you can *build* a computer that supports 4k output at a reasonable framerate. but a 4k monitor would be an additional 400-1000 cost. similarly, if you are going 4k, you probably wouldn't put together a machine like this & cobble up more premium components.
You're right, but most people nowadays do have 4k TVs on their living room already so there's that.
But on 1080p or 1440p you will have an even better time so whats the problem?
@@kajurn791 true, haven't considered that. regardless, tvs arent really the best setup for gaming with a desktop computer. more so suited for consoles. ofc, there are those oleds that lg and gigabyte have that you can use as monitors, but they are just too big for most people. i would get one myself if the panel size came down to say 36" but thats unlikely
@@Xirpzy yeah thats ofc true but the name of the video is literally '4k gaming". my point was this computer build isnt well suited for 4k so it shouldnt be advertised as such. many ppl will just copy this exact build and then realize it isn't the type of performance they were hoping for
Yeah this is more of a budget 1440p build. As you said if I really wanted to build a true 4k build I probably would spend more.
I built this PC for around $950 (had to opt for the P400A Phantecks case, everything else lined up), the only thing I scavenged from my old PC was the 16gb of RAM. Works amazing. Highly recommend.
please keep going and making these budget builds! They are so funn!!!!!!
I just finished building this, took me like 4 hours but I used EVERYTHING used in this video and I gotta say… it feels great turning it on and actually seeing the fans move
is it worth it?
@@beanboi9156 Oh man it reaaaally is, if youre someone like me who was gaming on a 1080 rtx with an i5 7th gen with 8gbs of ram, the speed of this $1k pc is out of this world, thing is, most parts are on sale right now so its not even 1k, its less!!!!

Yea I'm wondering too as he mentioned that this SSD is not the best If I'm have little more money to spend more what would you recommend ?
back in the pentium4 days I did a lot of fan testing and found that a fan on the front blowing in is a lot more effective than a fan on the back blowing out, so I would have moved that single fan to the front during the build. I would trust that more than the rear position (-:
What cooler did you use for the Pentium?
@@optimalbass just the stock heatsink
honestly if there were like 5 more of these, I'd probably watch them
This is close to my recent build for VR so this makes me feel good 🤝
Just added all the bits up as listed above, following the links and £400 for the 3070 from Ebay and it comes out at £1462 as at 11/12/2022 in the UK, so $1800US, way way more than the under a grand suggested. More like $2000 Gaming PC Build 2022
Prices change constantly, this was months ago so you would need a video thats a few days old to a week max if you want the listed price
I've been scoping prices on new graphics cards and they are actually back to MSRP. It's exciting!
Not here
@@ninetendopesaitama2107 and not here
Msrp is still too expensive
Love getting to see builds again.
LINUS!! I just built myself a water cooled pc for 500 all in all... I'm gonna make a video and send it to ya! Proud of myself and excited things got.. less expensive again :)
9:39 and there we see that all that time spent with Sarah taught Linus a thing or two on the importance of making sure that all the components are firmly in place.
Something I'm curious about the screwdriver, have you done testing with screwing into into treated lumber without a pilot hole and not just machine threaded screws?
I'm concerned those small bits will bend/twist in an application requiring self-tapping screws etc.
Also, see about sending your screw driver over to the in CZcamsrs who do tool reviews like "Project Farm" or "AvE" (He hasn't done much reviews recently though but still awesome channel).
Im pretty sure those LTT screwdrivers arent really meant for stuff like that your probably are better of buying a screwdriver in a local hardware store
Great channel suggestions, but to my experience the ratchet mechanism will give out first (provided you use the right bit for the job). And I'd agree with Ghettoboy, you're better off using something with a T-handle if you need high-torque. Ratchets are better for speed.
@9:37
The way he slapped the 3070 & shook the case, scared the hell out of me.
I followed this guide and the only change I did was a 3080 and got 3 case fans and a wifi card. This pc is amazing to use coming from a Lenovo Legion Y7000. Thank you very much LTT for a great guide 👌
Lmao I’m new to this so if you could, could you basically explain the point/benefits of everything you changed
@@Sinfinityy1 i added a 3080 just because I got it for the cheap but its a big card so it was a tight fit when I put the corsair fans. I added the wifi card to the top pci x1 slot for wireless wifi but you need ethernet to download the drivers. And I got the corsair ml120 3x for better cooling for the 3080 but install the gpu first before the fans to make it easier
Oof, that was running at 30~50fps with v sync off in Halo 😳😳 the unnecessary black bars were almost covering the shadowplay numbers.
If youre aiming 4K60 for a 3070, that's really pushing it. Maybe check if DLSS is supported on the game first. Or just go 1440p and high refresh. 👍
Yeah, I'm playing Infinite @1440p 120Hz locked on mostly high settings with a 3070. I honestly can barely tell the difference between 1440p and 4k, so I haven't even bothered with 4k.
play on 1440p dlss is meh
@@SasquatchComposites Whether 4K is worth it mostly depends on the size of the monitor and how far away from it you sit. If you're using a 42" inch monitor like I used to, the difference between 4K and 1440p should definitely be noticeable. But it can also depend on how sensitive you are to picking up details on a monitor, because with my current 28" monitor I still strongly prefer using 4K. Generally the ideal PPI (pixels per inch) is at least a little over 100, and a 27" 1440p monitor would achieve that.
Just got a new 12gb 3080 for $800 and it had a $30 rebate. I happy with it as I waited since release to get one and I doubt getting a 4080 will be any easier to get then the 30 line was.
Congrats dude. Amazing value!
That said, 40 series should be wildly easier to get so long so long as we don't have another global pandemic at the same time as a massive crypto surge. ;)
That's awesome price! Congrats!
o and the ltt screwdriver worked great while building the pc and the handle grip is amazing compaired to the other screwdrivers that i use for my vehicles aswell as everyday use.
So glad I'm actually able to finally afford to watch these videos and go buy what's showcased
4k gaming has made a nice leap this time around
If you enable dlss you can even play 4k games on a 3060
@@abdullakurdi6374 but that's not 4k anymore.
also i played in 4k@60 back in 2010s on a GF650
Linus should mention that patience is key with that RTX 3070 Ti. I know plenty of people wanna build their 1k 4k PC right away but if the graphic card isn't on sale at a reasonable price, you should just wait a little and keep a eye on the markt. I promise that within a month a good deal will pop up for a second hand GPU.
This is also a baseline, could get a 3080ti for a few hundred more dollars now
Over the last two years I was able to slowly build up my dated 6th Gen i7 6700k z170, and gtx 970 to a much better i7 10700k and gtx 2060. It’s still dated hardware but a definite upgrade
The RTX 2060 is surprisingly great at 4k as well, in the UK you can get one new for £250 😁
I didn't think my 2060 would manage 4k but I risked it and bought a 4k monitor, and started running my games at 4k and I was really surprised
At 4k ultra settings some games only manage to get 30 fps, but quite a lot, like Sea of Thieves and Dead by Daylight get 4k ultra 60fps
One trick if you only have a single 2.5" drive sled like this case had, and there's clearance for it, is you can secure TWO 2.5"drives on the _outside_ of the sled, and have the screws on the inside, facing out.
*insert accidentally pulling on the unsecured side and snapping the ssd here*
@@einotorkkel9817 Every SSD I've bought had a metal enclosure... You're more liekly to crack the drive sled (if plastic), or just bend the drive sled. What fake Wish SDD are you buying that's so flimsy! XD

Keep this energy going Linus! I'd love to see you guys put together your own version of an old "Crazy Eddie" commercial for the best cheap 30 series PC to celebrate the *insanely low* prices of last gen cards & the "crazy" amount of next-gen supply available for those customers only interested in paying peak 40 series prices 😂👍

Plan to build a whole new pc in 2 years time, currently still rocking a 1070...hopefully the prices are still reasonable by then and DDR5 is properly worth it!
I paid £800 for a 3070 16 months ago... the prices now are so much better it's insane!
don't think of it that way, you've enjoyed your new video card for 16 months!!!!! that's amazing!
I've seen a RTX3070 at a local Best Buy for $500. I'm like wait, WHAT?!?
I wish they had tested more games, for native 4k with this gpu you have to make some compromises in newer games to maintain +60fps but still its a pretty good deal
Same, my 1060 managed to run elden ring or doom really good at 4K but games like cod, cyberpunk or Witcher struggled. In the end it comes down to how good the game is coded
@@kleini3 yeah Doom Eternal is really well coded I’ve found. It’s like the antithesis to Cyberpunk in terms of making the most of the hardware you have!
