- So I thought of a crazy idea the other day and decided I had to give it a try! It didn't come easy, but after working through the project, I figured out how to make it work. I really like the results as well! What do you think? Let me know in the comments and leave the video with a thumbs up if you liked the project.
Also, be sure to check out my terrarium builds playlist to see what else is possible with this art form. There is so much you can do and it's so much fun!

The rainfall terrarium is here and I think it's awesome! Let me know what you thought of the project and video with a comment. Have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
U should make a discord!
Hey Tanner, are u an engineer of any kind? Or in school to be an engineer? Your way of thinking and describing things is very like my brother's thought process and he's a architectural engineer.
My video idea is an aloe, fern and airplant on bark tree in the central area
Yeah it’s awesome keep up the great work!
No I'm not an engineer. That's just how my brain works. I've always been obsessed with building things and knowing how they work.
Everybody gangsta til Tanner pull out those oak leaf creeping figs
I live im germany and i am trying to get some of this plant... really hard to find here...
@@1337est1337 Order online? It might be a lil more expensive cause shipping but like, worth it?
I already considered ordering it. But even then its hard to find a store that sells it and ships without horrendous shipping cost
And the moss
I got them, unfortunate they seems to grow very very slow.
we need a SerpaDesigns branded razor scraper
And fan brush.
And bent piece of wire.
Yess!!!
"Tanner's 'SerpaDesign' Terrarium Toolkit". Something like iFixit for Terrariums, Aquariums and Paludariums.
I have to say, I watched several tutorials on dismantling fish tanks, including watching Tanner do it a few times. Others use the really narrow putty knife and a razor blade, and I tried that with some luck. Then I decided to use a razor scraper and it was so much better... now I, too, am using the razor scraper for everything.
I love this kind of videos where u show everything from start to end almost like tutorial
Holy cow that is awesome. Im pretty sure a Few Zoos would love to pick up Tannar as an exhibit designer
YESSS!!!
Monterey bay aquarium is probably watching these videos like "oh! jot that down! jot that down!"
Watching people do what they are good and passionate at is so refreshing.
Now waiting for Tanner to turn his room into a terrarium.
Or jus a closet 😂
That is actually what is happening to my room - all of my terrariums from my channel are filling up my room!
@@Salamanders1018 Not enough light though, lol
NysArt if made an entire closet a terrarium u would put built in lights
@@Salamanders1018 True, true, good point. I wonder if his huge room with all the terrariums is just a giant walk in closet!
How does this Titan, this *God* of a man manage to:
• Pump out an amazingly edited video every week
• Work on multiple ter-pal-viv-rip-aqua-riums per month
• Look after all his animals and keep them extremely healthy
• Keep his plants pristine
• Do all the maintenance on the projects
• Pay for the electricity bills
He loves what he does, does what he loves... pretty sure he quit his regular job a few months back to do YT full time, and he got that ad revenue!!!... I can't wait for him to start a company selling equipment... I just hope he ships to the UK! 🤣
Was not expecting to find a fellow unus annus follower on a serpa design video

the glass snapping is so satisfying
I agree - some sounds just can't be done without a terrarium
@@nysart6582 pretty sure then can🧐

I hecking love your art. If there was a museum/gallery filled with your terrariums and animal homes I would go see it and walk around for hours and take hundreds of pictures.
Did he just make rain ?! RAIN !! With each new project Tanner, you always outdo yourself. What a beautiful and exciting concept. Thanks for sharing this with us.
That's amazing terrarium!
I'm 13 years old terrarium maker from finland and your videos are my favourite! (Sorry my bad english it's not my strength)
Great to see you in front of the camera more :)
I agree - Seeing someone definetely helps create a connection between the viewers and creator
Hey Tanner, I’m a 24 yo guy from Chile and I’ve been fascinated by your moss videos! Let me tell you I’ve been collecting them for a while now and today I just made two terrariums. Thanks for showing and teaching us the how to! I’d love to see more videos about the moss itself so I can learn how to take care of them and it’s growth process. Sending love to all my moss people 🖤🦋🐛🌈✨
While I am intrigued by ALL of your creations, THIS one has me craving a piece such as this. Just watching the finished views, I could feel myself becoming entranced and absorbed by the falling water. I may even consider raiding my meager savings if I could find one commercially available! Thank you so much for the inspiration, and for continuously providing informative and entertaining content. Though it showcases your talents and creativity, it also inspires and educates others. Bravo and Thank You!
You should do a biography video would love to know what you did in high school and stuff your woodworking skills are always on point. You're also very meticulous in your work.
Those additional texts you made for the upper left side makes everything even more professional ngl😉
Yup, it's the little details that stand out the most!
I really like this kind of video with every explanations, it's a bit "longer" but I really appreciate all the details so we can understand perfectly what you're doing during all the process. Thank you for all your video, I love every one of them and you bring me a lot of inspiration !
Tanner that was a bloody POWERFUL intro, damn youre getting too good at the youtube game :')
It is really hard to find the right balance in an intro, but he definitely got it.
Gosh it must be beautiful to hear the water falling all day
Very cool! I’d love to have something like this in my office.
You should try making a simple terrarium in a jar - they look really cool and are free!
We need a serpa line of most of your usual items like the most common hardscape peices, the common plants, glass cutting tools, razer scrapper.....it NEEDS to happen
that turned out really nice. i think i want to try to build something like that for my autistic daughter. watching rain drops and running water really helps soothe her when shes too wound up. she loves watching the 3 fish tanks i have set up around the house
I started creating terrariums by watching your videos, I have PTSD so creating terrariums are my way of relaxing and keeping my mind busy.
This beautiful terrarium is something I look forward to making myself, I appreciate the processes and walking through each step, You are a very good teacher! I look forward to many more videos thanks tanner 🙂
would you ever do a more dry enclosure ? more rocks and using succulents. lowkey need more inspo for my leopard gecko enclosure 🤣
Same but I'm pretty sure Tanner said he's not a massive fan of creating arrid setups
Every time I watch one of your videos I'm amazed. The creativity, the aesthetic, the artistry, the engineering. And always surprised to see materials used I wouldn't have thought to use
I’m so glad I watched this awesome terrarium build within 30 min since it got uploaded and I’ve been waiting a week for this moment! Every terrarium you build is amazing and so relaxing:)
Nice! Tanner literally makes the coolest terrariums, and makes them incredible relaxing with his tone and music
I get so hyped for his videos! I built a beautiful terrarium for my female praying mantis! She loves it! Thank you for making your videos for inspiration and things for us to enjoy! ❤️
Could you just do a 10 minute video of that section where you're showing off the build with music? So satisfying 😌
This is honestly something I would buy. This is stunning. A true piece of art from someone who takes thier craft seriously.
So effin' rad. Love the custom built wood trim/parts especially
Wow, that hard-scape! Piece of art!
Came across your channel by accident, and I was totally hooked, I was never a plant person, until I bought my first Bonsai tree, and I became hooked! After the holidays I will be making my own terrarium! Thank you so much for expanding my horizons!
Tanner outdoes himself every time. The success of his channel is a perfect illustration of what perseverance, patience and hard work can do. Thanks for being such a positive influence in the CZcams and reptile community, Tanner.
Tanner really make some incredible builds from scratch. Nothing like some home cooking 🔥
FYI - just came out with a new video, and you may like to check it out!
Can we just take a moment to be wowed that his study table so awesome and lively with full of passion for aquascaping..
Omg I'd love a large window size version of that 💜
I cannnot wait for an update on that desk. I'd watch a timelapse of sprintails in it. It's so pretty.
There's nothing you've done that I haven't liked, but this one might be my favorite!
PLEASE do more designs like this one they are AMAZING
This one is one of your most breath taking builts. Congratulations Tanner!
I know! Tanner is so creative! I encourage you to check out my most recent terrarium video!
SerpaDesign the show you’ll sometimes watch but all the time love
I have watched you make some incredible things but this ranks up at (or tied for) the top. That driftwood sculpture is so perfect, I cannot even.
I like your smaller builds the best. The big ones are amazing, but these feel more delicate in that you have so much skill in making them. It's easy to make big origami cranes, but the tiny 2 mm cranes take effort and practice. Thanks
The rainfall idea is super cool! It'd be sweet if you were able to implement that on a larger scale with a larger terrarium or vivarium on a timer. Sort of like an afternoon rain shower for the plants and animals in the tank!
DAMN dude, it came out so good! Taking the front panel off made a huge difference
This rainfall terrarium is incredible, i am so jelly and wish I had one.. the oak leaf creeping figs are so cool too
Bruh.... for some reason this whole process is mentally calming. You are a genius brother.
Quality content, as always...
This is by far my favorite design. Great job Tanner!
I was so impressed that you built from scratch everything. You have such an awesome creative gift. When you start the scaping I almost get in a meditative mode. I feel me body relax. That's what your videos do to me. Love it.
This looks like something you would find in a high end office of some kind. You could literally make a few of these and they would easily sell for a couple hundred dollars a piece (adjusting price based off how much it cost to build it of course) It's an amazing centerpiece for any office or den area. I keep saying this with all of your builds, but this one has impressed me more than I previously thought was possible! You've outdone yourself yet again!
This is probably my favorite so far!
Tanner, you’re a true artist!
It looks really nice, good work tanner!
Agreed, one of his best pieces yet!
Tanner you are the man! Beautiful job!
Wow I love it. I get such a natural earthly feeling when I observe the rainfall over the wood. I can feel the rain, smell the moisture. Hear the light splashing of thousands of droplets against leaves as they cascade down. Lovely. Just seeing that small shard of nature it tricks my mind and allows me to experience it as if I was there in the forest
Really beautiful piece! So relaxing. I love how innovative and inspiring your work is.
I agree - Tanner always puts out beautiful pieces of artwork through terrariums that are always super creative!
Definitely not what we were expecting Tanner, and in a good way. This was a really awesome idea that turned out well. Really cool to see an idea go from your head, to the paper to construction to a finished piece. It looks really good!! Clearly very accurate cuts on the table saw too. Thanks for sharing some of the minutia as well.
FYI - just came out with a new video, and you may like to check it out!
This project is AWESOME. You're killin it as always. I would definitely buy one of these if you sold them. Thanks for the vid, Tanner!
What a stunningly beautiful piece of art! The culmination of the design elements is so elegant. This miniature rainy day is absolutely mesmerizing.
FYI - just came out with a new video, and you may like to check it out!
Honestly one of your best ones yet.
I love how he can just make these from nothing. Just his own creative ideas and the drive to bring them to life.
at first, i thought you coted the front panel glas with some water proffing agent. I was wrong hahaha😂😂😂
I wish I'd known of that hot glue trick for siliconing 20 years ago. Always super quality videos!!
Nice. I am looking forward to seeing it grown in a bit more. I also loved the glimpse of your desk, too!
Actually removing the front glass is a bit unexpected modification, but wow it works! I love it that you can reach out and touch the rain whenever you want 😍😍😍
Ah yes. Sensei creates yet another gorgeous build.
Cool build, Tanner. I want to see a much larger version of this!
I'm amazed how clean and organized your shop and tools are!! 😵 What gives you inspiration for these builds? This is really trippy, I like! 👍👍
Would love to see you take this idea a step further and make this into an "at a glance" weather forcast.
You could add some LEDs, use a raspberry pi to get the lastest weather forcast and control the pump and leds for real time weather effects. E.g. Thunderstorms? Flicker the LEDs and activate the pump. Warm weather? Nice warm yellow LED. Could go even further and incorporate a mist machine for when it's foggy out. All this might not fit into this build though.
Anyway, awesome build! Keep up the good work!
It‘s a literal Box of Rain!
That's so cool! You realise that you have to make it on a much larger scale now, a jungle style terrerium with frogs lol.
So cool that you built this from scratch. You have great vision! I love this set-up
Omg so cool
Iove your design so amazing 😍😍
This man is so serious about terrarium building, he designs a terrarium on a terrarium! Good job as always bro!
FYI - just came out with a new video, and you may like to check it out!
Love the detail you went into in this video
This concept is amazing! Love the raindrops
OMG! what a beautiful terrarium i LOVE IT !! i actually liked the glass showing
I’m a very new subscriber of yours but your channel has been highly inspirational and educational. I love your content and creativity with it, thank you so much for your uploads!!! Please keep them coming!
Wow.. this is the coolest thing youve ever built. Would totally buy something like that if I could find it.
this one was definitely a crazy idea but executed very well. i had no idea what you were going for until it started coming together. Very nice build, lots of very precice cuts.
I’ve been subscribed for a while now, but totally forgot about this account until I just happened upon one of the videos. You really do it all: terrariums/paludariums, DIYs, design, and tons of reptile content too! Love to see a channel that combines all my interests into one!
Brilliant! Never cease to be amazed at the things you build 👏👏👏
Super simple and gorgeous
for a crazy idea that works, this is awesome
Love the music you used on this one...I love gardening and this all seems like good winter projects for me. This is beautiful.... I am a costume designer and can really relate to your methods and artistic eye.
This type of setup would be so cool for a reed frog
This buils was so cool and technical!
Omg his drawing board has terrarium in it
This is definitely my favorite style of video I've seen you experiment around with in the past few years. You know a lot about this stuff so it's awesome to see/hear your thoughts on it in an unscripted and on-the-spot manner
This has a very nice, aesthetically pleasing to look at. Thank you for sharing!
Watching your videos has become a part of my Sunday self-care routine. They are so relaxing and dope and get my creativity juices flowing. Keep rocking my dude!
Tanner that turned out really well
What a wonderful piece of art 😍😍😍😍
I really liked this video showing all of the steps that it took to make this!
You have an amazing eye for estectics, and beauty
GENIUS!!!!!!! I want like 5 of these please!!! 😁😁🙏🙏
This is some serious talent. Very impressive
Once again completely stunned by your work. Absolutely beautiful terrarium!! 10/10 for sure lol!
Brilliant! You pointed me to this video on IG and it’s just as good as I thought a rainfall terrarium from you would be. I love the hardscape. Just awesome. Great work!
