DIY Terrarium Computer Desk with a Live Edge from Reclaimed Materials

- Another terrarium build coming at you! I've had this one planned for while, but I kept putting it off because I wanted to do it right. All things considered, I think it turned out great! It's made completely from reclaimed and scrap materials I already had laying around the house. The only items I had to get were the glass, cherry slab and the liquid rubber.
I think this was an easy build, but the process could be made simpler by cutting a hole in a table that's already built. All you would need to do is cut the hole and make a terrarium box. Once the box is made attach it to the table and recess it slightly so you don't have to make the groove later with a router. Use some method to waterproof the setup and you'll be in business!

You, young man, are the simultaneous Bob Ross/Bob Villa/P. Allen Smith of living textile artistry.
You’re going to make it big, mark my words. My humble best to you. 🙏🏻
this man gonna turn his whole house into a terrarium
I don’t think so 😝
He needs to just make a bio dome.
I'd pay to see that.
He lives in a terrarium. Mind=blown.
...You mean he hasn't done that already???
I'm going to spill my drink and ruin an ecosystem instead of a keyboard.

@@trexbait895 Okay come over pls
@@trexbait895 okay bet
I am planning on building this desk but instead of a terrarium inside, a small shallow fish tank. I was thinking of putting something small and hardy like a Dwarf Crayfish in there, I think it would look great from a top view and the crayfish would also take care of mold/algae. I'm sure you would have to make sure that the entire tank fixture is even more water-tight and you would have to account for the extra weight of the water. Maybe just 5 gallons of water, or a little more than that should be good and won't add too much weight. Or maybe no live animals in there, just a planted tank, almost like a pond. What do you all think?
yeeessss!
HELL YES
Bro, this is what I was planning for in my house next year😂😂
Go for it champ 🎉
Please make a video if you ever end up doing this project!! 🐠

In the future - DIY Terrarium room walls. The desk is beautiful. I was wondering if you were going to add a mist generator or lights to it.
Terrarium with Razor RGB lighting
this is a great idea. I've thought about it before.
Yes the mist generator with dank RGB green razor lights would slap
He has to review his pc tho😤🥵
Put a mirror in there for an infinite jungle feel
This is one of the most amazing terrarium projects I have seen in a while! Really inspiring.
And here I am struggling with basic household chores when this guy does the most incredible additional projects.
imagine this but a bit bigger as a dinner table that would be so cool
Eating on trees, symbolizing the superiority of humanity

Oooh, as a strip down the middle like a lot of people are using preserved moss and resin to do, but instead a live terrarium. How cool!

Amd then wirh an small river going trough it
Anyone else think he should make a river kind of setup, one that pretty long and has a flowing stream down the middle?
Thought about doing that with this, but decided not to since it's my computer desk. Maybe some day.
A dining table.
rivers of cpu coolant
This is my favourite one so far, but a flowing stream build would be incredible. Great idea Henry. Please do this build Tanner, and keep up the awesome work 🌱
Thought the same thing. Would be awesome to have a water cooled pc and make it look like it’s the same water.
Will we get a 6 month update on this one? I'm curious how it is growing in

I love how this guy has this gorgeous terrarium desk and then a Logitech membrane keeb and a couple Sceptre monitors.
"It's a little Excessive.. But it'll get the Job Done."
Sometimes that's exactly what you need. Great job! Very Interesting Woodwork, Functional and Beautiful.
Tha bigger the glob the better the job.
This is so over-engineered... I absolutely love it.
How?
This is my absolute favourite so far! I love how the colours, textures and all the little details design wise work together. Absolutely stunning end result!
I just finished my first terrarium yesterday. It’s really simple, just some moss from my garden and a piece of driftwood in an old glass bowl, but it feels amazing to look at and know that I made it! Thank you for getting me into terrariums and showing me how to make one. My first one will definitely not be my last.
16:10 When he says: "Maybe build one into a kitchen" all the ideas that sparked in my mind...

this is absoloutely amazing, i love it tanner, you have singlehandedly got me my motivation back and i really appreciate your work
I think youre on to something here. Keep on pushing this concept desk + terrarium (maybe a mirror?). This design looks already awsome!!
I'm not too much into the true Arium aspect but I do love the plants that you use for them because right now I'm into tropical plants and I have a bunch of them that I'm growing right now.
Sorry terrarium
Why have a terrarium on your desk, when you can have one in your desk! Genius!
Very beautiful. I like how you made the different scrap elements fit together.
Now, that's a : FERNiture !!!
I know! Go FIGure. He should moss produce it.

I’d rage at something and absolutely demolish that glass
that's why you need to get a strong glass that can withstand it, bulletproofesque type of glass to hold alot of force.
Your passion for plants is unbelievable! Patience and devotion to your projects are out of the earth. I wish I was able to make the smallest of your ideas. Watching them must suffice for now. Don't ever stop! You're amazing.
Wow, I'm blown away. Each project is so amazing. From your tank/terrarium builds, to some amazing custom set ups like this. Great work, your videos are a joy to see!
oh my god u freak this is amazing
Love the creativity, we need more naturalism incorporated in everyday life. Too many times we cut down trees and build cities.
Instead we should build cities around nature!
Ikr!
or building nature into the cities
@@keithgraves7709 I guess so but seems very counter intuitive. Here in Michigan where I live in the suburbs of Detroit , it’s all flat square grids of land where every square has a plaza or gas station. Very boring
@@No1reallydies To be fair, Detroit isn’t exactly known for being a nice city to live in.
I can't even begin to describe how GORGEOUS this is, what a ridiculous project! I want a fishtank desk now hahha
An all glass desk full of fish!!
Que arte maravilhosa! Estou encantada! Ontem meu filho me falou de teus projetos com terrário, porque ele sabe que aprecio cultivo de plantas com criatividade e eu gostei muito. I love this so much! I bet it gives a lovely sense of peace while you're working.
This has to be my favorite thing you’ve ever made. The concept of adding terrariums to everyday furniture is so awesome! Great job! 😁
Now u need to do a "pond table"
You've really come a long way ! The sophistication of your projects keeps increasing, congrats !
I have a technical question : why did you choose to build the project arround a wooden case sealed with epoxy and not a shallow glass tank ? At first thought it seems it would have saved you the trouble of leaks.
Tanner, You are an excellent writer, besides being amazingly tool savvy and creative and it shows in your video commentary. Your videos always flow smoothly and are always engaging. Keep up the great work!
