Agust D is literally talking about everything that is wrong in the world right now. Since haegeum is a traditional instrument but also means liberation of prohibition. He is really asking who's on board for the revolution, for the new world, for the new kingdom and to get on board now. So we can fix everything that is broken. This is a masterpiece. The lyrics and wordplay are incredible. This is what rap in my humble opinion should be. A way of making people aware of all the social, economical issues and more. And Suga just did that. To add further layers to this, it’s really pointed commentary on capitalism or essentially: feudalism. What became his weapon in the beginning (his tool to criticise & stand up) became a utensil. In the end he has to partake in this because of obligation. literally; to feed himself.
A Thailand ARMY (shout out to Sky_hxneul) was kind enough to educate us and explain that this was filmed in Thailand and that place is called the "Thief Market" Rattanakosin Island's (Old name of Thailand from 1782-1892) and it was the first international shoping center in the period after the abolition of slavery.. This is how he explained it : so this market came to exist because the people in the palace freed from slavery when they moved out of the palace, they received some goods from the master and also stole some They then brought those goods to sell them in this area. Now we know that Haegeum is a traditional instrument but also means the liberation of the prohibition.
SUGA: "Haegeum can refer to the traditional instrument but Haegeum as a lift on a ban. In the past, when I was young and I played things like rhythm games, there were songs called "unlocked songs" if you beat a stage, you get the unlocked songs. Idols... Honestly, despite not committing crimes even a little thing becomes this big or doing something that could be considered a controversy, it becomes "Are they allowed to be like that?" I didn't really understand it even when I was young. But of course, that didn't mean I went around causing trouble. So, in the music video, there are smoking scenes and things like that. If this becomes a controversy when l'm 31 then really, as a social phenomenon, it makes me strongly wonder how I'm supposed to accept this. Like, let's unlock those banned things. And since people can see so much information within the palm of their hand, imagining or thinking. Even I started not doing them. So, regarding those things, let's get liberated. With advanced technology, we're able to get all kinds of information and see the situations happening on the other side of the planet while sitting. But I strongly felt those things kind of prohibiting my life actually. I can live without walking on eggshells as much. You have to live doing the things you want."
"Scar dude”, is Agust D. He always has a scar. Representing his own scars. His alter ego, Agust D. He's always portrayed as a villain, a person in power, but nevertheless a villain. He's Suga's opposite side who holds lots of anger, fear, sadness, resentment, vengefulness his darker emotions. Previously in Daechwita, BOTH Suga AND Agust D had scars. He was in a different state of mind, he said he had lots of anger, but here only Agust D has a scar, it's not as red, meaning he's healing, but Suga has none. He's trying to get rid of that side of himself here. And Suga is Suga, himself. It's always been Suga VS Agust D. But he said in IU's palette that he's changed a lot and has learned to forgive and be a happier person, so Agust D can go to rest now. That side of Suga, Agust D, is gone....for now. He says he's not sure when he'll come back....IF he ever comes back, however he said if those strong emotions return, then so will Agust D. It's kind of bittersweet. He said somewhere in the physical album that from this point on, we can expect to see "SUGA"'s debut....not Agust D, but SUGA in his next album.

Final Agust D is actually Suga, to be continued in Amygdala
I think that is interesting that the original Agust D became the Mad King and the D-2 Agust D became a rich looking cop idk if that's his intention but it very much reads as a critique on corruption by money and power. Especially as he kills them both at the end.

If we only try to educate ourselves and maybe learn information from someone like you or even doing a little research instead of bashing him for not understanding what this songs means, his lyrics and twisting it to BTS and army consider women as slaves or that he’s talking about capitalism but he is also a slave of Hybe or the grammy, he is a hypcorite, etc. so sad the other fandom don’t realize that he is preaching facts here.

*MV Theory Breakdown*
Since Suga starts out with six men around him at the beginning it’s clear they are the members. Together they go through the upper floor reeking havoc (a nice way to say murdering a bunch of people).
I think this represents BTS literally destroying the music industry with their accomplishments.
From there we see a Suga who is carefree, running away from the detective (anger).
Even as Suga is collecting more and more money the place he’s in is not luxurious but messy and down to earth. It could even be seen as how even though Suga of BTS has gained a lot in life he still has to deal with crap around him. It could also show how no matter his wealth, he’s always been the same down-to-earth person he was when he started out.
At one point he’s mocking a fish. This could both be Suga mocking all the haters or how he’s felt in the past with the entire world watching him and judging his actions. The fish could also be the rest of the K-pop industry living inside a fish bowl as a lot of people have described fame that way but Suga is free, outside of the fish bowl.
The Detective is a new version of the king from Daechwita. He is the rebellious lead from Daechwita who killed the first king but even he himself has become just like the king: corrupt, angry. The Detective is an embodiment of Suga’s anger.
Even when The Detective has Suga at gun point, Suga isn’t afraid. It shows that his anger doesn’t have power over him.
The money that The Detective (a part of Suga) wants, Suga destroys without hesitating. The money was never why he did what he did. It’s always been about the music.
The set for when Suga is surrounded by barrels on fire is similar to the one from Daechwita where he was tired up. Even though he’s trapped by The Detective and his men, Suga isn’t tied up or blindfolded. Meaning he has more control over the situation than it seems.
The climax of the MV, and in a way the end of the AgustD trilogy, is when after being drowned by Anger/The Detective, Suga has the strength to kill him once and for all.
The body of the king in Daechwita was never seen, so it was never certain that Suga killed him. But this time we know for certain he is dead.
We see Yoongi hanging out of the back of the police cruiser. This mirrors him hanging out of the car in Deawchita. Except this time he seems peaceful and is dropped off at a place where he can sit down in quiet.
A final note: the chop sticks. At the beginning he used them to start the attack on the men upstairs (aka the music industry) but as he sits down he uses them to eat. This could mean two things.
1. He only went as hard as he did because the world was against him and BTS.
2. He’s wrapped up his AgustD persona trilogy and now wants to simply be Yoongi. Someone who can have a meal in peace, someone who can partake in the music industry (the restaurant) just like anyone else.

70 year old Army here. "Haegeum" has a double meaning in this song. It is a traditional Korean instrument held on the knee and played like a stand up bass with a bow and two silk strings. It is an instrument used in this song. It also means liberation or freeing what's forbidden and is very relevant to this song. Actually, it should remind you of Daechwita! 💜
This song and the whole album is a masterpiece. Yoongi's production, flow, cadence and lyricism always amaze me. Can't wait for the reaction.

The true crime in all this is how good Yoongi looks.
Daechwita and Haegeum feels like lost twins because this feels like a pattern. Yoongi keeps killing off his old self (the king with a scar) when his self reaches the point of greed and corruption once again. He keeps doing it to bring himself back down to the ground so that the humble version of himself lives on instead of the one tainted with greed. He shot the king on Daechwita and shot him once again in Haegeum.
That's why he mentioned that he forgave those people who hated them and want only to stay humble.
BTS/YOONGI ARE THE MOST SELF-AWARE ARTISTS I'VE EVER KNOWN...
like they knew something we don't, they know how dirty the industry works and that's why they don't get swayed so easily. They are not afraid to call out names and the industry. Slamming them for corruption and all. Taking all the risks of backlash they will get that may affect their career.

Bathtub scene with Suga, I mean Agust D is from Scarface movie where "Tony Montana" is in the bathtub shortly before he dies. The five fingered dragon( worn by the king only in Korean history) is on Agust D's jacket and is the same as Agust D wore in Daechwita. 🤔
Haegeum has two meanings - the musical instrument and also allowing/freeing up something that is forbidden.

After the first time watching 'Haegeum', we all had to take a "deep breath".
Suga was in charge of producing as well as writing lyrics and composing for the album for nationwide distribution. "Astonishing; Magnificent; Overwhelming."
After Daechwita, Suga received a movie script, which he rejected. Now - Suga must get ready to receive more screenplays. This man can 'ACT'. Yet another accolade. SUGA is #1 SUPREME....
Given the scar on the mafia Suga which poor Suga doesn't seem to have, my theory is that the mafia Suga is the underground Suga from Daechwita, the one that fooled the King Suga then became him (the power corrupted him which led to him leading the mafia the way king ruled his kingdom, on the expense of others), now *he* got fooled by someone who has the same mentality as he once had in Daechwita.
And this is similar type of message but in modern society instead of a village, which is why Yt was mentioned, it didn't exist back then.
In conclusion, capitalism has existed for centuries, and still does, and it's just a deadly, never ending cycle. It makes me think of how many kids wanted to be cops for example to protect people, but once they tasted the power they got addicted and never looked back, continuing to abuse it and hold it over poor people' heads. Same with politicians and "leaders" (King Suga and Mafia boss Suga).
That's why we love Bts so much, they wanted money, cars, houses, fame, fans (especially Suga as he often mentions it in his lyrics) but they never got corrupted. It's inspiring and heartwarming. Also makes me so proud to be their fan, their Army💜
Also the 6 dudes behind him possibly represent Bts members (it's 7 of them along w Suga), just like in Daechwita the 6 guys represented Bts and that one girl represented Army.
well i will just talk about chopsticks, he used it kill someone and then use it to feed himself. he talks about capitalist society and living in it, the same thing that is killing and ruining people but he is also criticising himself because he is also part of that capitalism that he cannot escape because it is what feeds him.

In the MV I think he is fighting himself because even though he hates capitalism he also loves indulging in it. Because even though everyone in some way or another takes part in capitalism, Yoongi has just been the one to accept he is a bi-product of a money making machine. As HYBE is a big capitalistic corporation but he is also a victim of it as well because he is still an idol who works for a higher power [slave]. But maybe my interpretation is wrong.

I would like to add a little of my theory too...
Detective Yoongi represents Yoongi's angry persona. He was the rebel in Daechwita who killed the King who is representing power.
Detective Yoongi wanted his money. The criminal Yoongi stole the money of the detective not for the money but for the detective himself...
Reference: 1)he nods at the informer who called the detective.
2) He smiles knowing that the police are after him.
3) He doesn't run away to save him nor scared of the detective.
4) He burns the money that he had stolen.
In the end, the detective smiles before being shot.
He could mean that even if he ( anger ) is dead someone like him (negative emotion) would / might come after the other Yoongi, therefore, therefore killing him will be useless
Or he could mean that the new Yoongi would also become just another one like the king and detective Yoongi. Because that was what happened to the detective.
But that didn't happen.
Criminal Yoongi starts and ends at the same place...
He started at the restaurant with his members (bts), killed people (destroying the music industry), stole money (became wealthy), trapped and killed the detective yoongi (freed from his anger), and returned to the same restaurant just like another ordinary man or as the same Yoongi seen in the beginning but alone this time ( or independent ). He has no greed for money and power. Meaning that this Yoongi doesn't change into the corrupt and greedy one like the detective and King Yoongi. In Daechwita, we don't know what happened to the king or the rebel (now detective) Yoongi. But about criminal yoongi, it's shown here.
This is the final Agustd who is freed from society's expectations and obligations (king) as well as his own negative emotions (detective).
He is calm, down-to-earth, non-greedy, and emotionally strong with a completely healed scar ( representing he is completely fine now ).

A lot of rumors about Taehyung and Jungkook smoking but in a negative way... they're not smoke, but if they're smoke, that's totally fine cuz our members are U30. They're know what it is and more... but antis keep giving a lot of bad words for them in a very conservative way. So Suga decided to make a smoke scene in Haegeum to protect his two little maknae... Interpretation , that whole line goes back to how in Korea especially North Korea you don't have the freedom to do a lot. That's why the South is so different and a bit more Liberal, but he's also talking about being an artist, and as a culture. It's looked down on in society if you have tattoos and smoke in Korea, so he's showing that he doesn't care, plus in the music industry artists don't have the freedom to do what they want with the direction, styling, lyrics they want to express. It's all about the numbers and money, rather than how an arist will bring something new to the market. The're manager was the first to let them have free reign on how they want to express themself and direction of how they want their messages and truths to be told. He's saying join the revolution of freedom to be yourself, express how you want to express, point the light on what's real and the real identity of the music industry as it stands

The first time I watched this I was breathless the whole time! My adrenaline was through the roof with that beat 🔥
I Interpreted it as the police persona being the version that killed the blonde king in Daechwita but he’s become corrupted (I think the hideout the new Agust d went to was the cops stash of money) and the new Agust d burns the money joker style (going along with the capitalism line) bringing everything to a confrontation. The killing of the scarred Agust d is him killing this last version of himself and freeing his mind.
He’s a genius with the lyrics as always.. I feel like he’s talking about the disillusionment of this era and the chasing of power and money and essentially calling for a sort of revolution for the world. I can’t really articulate it well, but his music always makes people think and reflect, like he’s holding a mirror up to society and showing the absurdity of it. Just my rambling thoughts on it 😅
