THAT WAS JUST CINEMA. I'm obsessed with the MV
70 year old BTS Army here. There are a lot of Daechwita (I assume you reacted to it.) and Joker references in this MV. "Haegeum" has a double meaning in this song. It is a traditional Korean instrument held on the knee and played like a stand up bass with a bow and two silk strings. It is used in this song. It also means liberation or freedom and is obviously an important part of the lyrics.
That "I'm sorry RM" lmao 😂😂😂 the fucking symbolism in the MV is insane. The callbacks to other Agust D stuff and Yoongi stuff, the fish the chicken the tangerines!!! The continued cycle of killing himself whenever he gets "corrupted". Min Yoongi is amazing, a genius. Give him an Oscar!!! And Army please stream smart!!! 💜
I love how big your eyes got when he stabbed the dude with the chopsticks. You stayed that way and just started bobbing your head as soon as the beat came in. I was the same way. I love this song and MV. I immediately understood the premise. This is a film. Btw...Joker vibes. 🔥
This song and the mv had me in a chokehold. Not only did Yoongi's acting get MUCH better (and he was already literally a pro), but the entire cinematography backs it up. The song is a banger, no doubt. Haegeum is a traditional instrument, but it also means release from prohibition. The mv is so fascinating. In Daechwita, he killed the blond Agust D because he was too corrupt with anger and resentment. Agust D couldn't take it anymore. But in Haegeum the Agust D scar ended up as corrupted as the blonde Agust D. It's interesting that the new Agust D basically started the mv by killing a person and ending with the memory of it. Agust D is a trilogy because Yoongi was finally able to unite with Suga and Agust D. They are no longer apart because he learned to embrace all of his feelings. In this MV, the new Agust D. is a vigilante and violent villain because that's what Agust D is. But instead of just killing the scarred Agust D, who in this narrative, is a corrupt secret agent, (as happened to the blonde Agust D), he ALSO burned the money scar that Agust D had. My interpretation is that this whole mv revolves around FREE SPEECH, which may not be correct. 🤣. Finally, cheers to SUGA for yet another unique work of art.👏❤
Yoongi said "I recommend that you watch all the music videos for "Daechwita", "Haegeum", and "AMYGDALA" in one sitting!" and then he also mentioned in his documentary that in amygdala he wants to talk about how he got the scar on his face. Come to think of it yoongi is giving us a cinematic masterpiece. He is an incredible storyteller.
I am so proud of Yoongi, he is a genius, his entire album is a masterpiece. This man oozes talent!! Only Yoongi can pull off these double roles fantastically. Haegeum is incredible!!
Agust D is 🔥🔥🔥!!! SUGA is wrecking me with this performance. I don't know what he means by he doesn't have the looks to be an actor when IU praised him. He is being too modest. This mv just proves again that he got the looks and the acting skills to be an amazing actor. 💜

Ya you gotta watch it again, catch all the lyrics and catch every detail of the video. It’s hard to get lyrics and appreciate the whole mv at the same time. They put so much into their mv that you have to rewatch it without looking at lyrics. It’s got parallels to Daechwita mv, you notice the scar, the battle between the two, and killing off one. It’s like it continues from Daechwita.
His album is amazing, too! Listen from begging to end.... My favorites are Huh, D Day, and Haegeum.

My theory is that in daechwita... The tyrant blonde king (with scar)is the fake king and is killed by Agust D the rightful king (black haired with scar)...then in Haegeum.. Agustd (black haired with scar) is killed by Suga (black haired with no scar)because this is the end of the Agustd trilogy..

Its clear that SUGA and AGUST D are different personas but in a way similar. I’ve always looked at AGUST D as MIN YOONGI real self. Like our man as come for our souls with this modern intake of DAECHWITA. A unspoken fact, in my opinion as a Kpop stan for 15 years Ive only known BTS as the artists who are bold enough in talking bout those forbidden truths within and outside of their music. Im sure there other artists before them that attempted to bring light into dark side of the culture to try to break free of the old ways that are outrageously wrong in todays present world while in a new decade. From what I remember the plot shows good vs evil personas of himself (the mad king vs new blood - Old AGUST D vs Present AGUST D) as he continues the inner-battle with greed & temptation. *HAEGEUM means to lift a ban.* #HAEGEUM #AGUSTD

as far as I know, Hae is pronounced as "He" like hen and Geum is pronounced like the last syllable of "sanctum" but with the G instead of the T
I think Haegeum is one of Korean traditional musical instrument sounds like violin. The Chinese letter in the beginning of this means Haegeum.

based from what army's realization and theory of this mv.
+ DAECHWITA "대취타" was military parade music played when the king comes out of the palace. One of the instrument use at the back part of the parade was supported by HAEGEUM "해금" musicians. These concepts were also intended for "Acknowledging Someone Cause of Fame" as to Daechwita, "Manipulating the Powerless" and "Allowing What Is Forbidden" as to Haegeum. Yoongi speaks for the voiceless and the underprivileged members of society throughout the entirety of the song "Heageum". Some were associated with poverty; the chicken is said to represent "being a coward," and the scene with the chopsticks is a representation of those who choose to k!ll for food and money. Man must take risks in order to survive, and everyone uses their names to gain fame, wealth, and power. Exposing stereotypes, capitalist, toxic system, selfishness and problematic society. Hands down for the genius producer, Min Yoongi.
+ agust d was laughing at yoongi pointing the gun at him because he knows he's never gonna truly die and the cycle will eventually continue again. maybe AGUSTD laughed as if thinking, "What, you think you can kill me? You ARE me!" agustd is a part of yoongi that yoongi/suga cannot rid of. because we are all human, there are phases where our darker emotions arise. so it's impossible for him to rid of that. In daechwita mv, before agustd (in a black hair) killed the king (the blonde one), the king was also laughing at him. just like what yoongi said in his album cover, he said that if his darker emotions rise again, we might see agustd again.
+ The black haired agustd, who was a commoner killed the blond one who was in power that time (the blonde one in daechwita/the king) He was the one rose up from the first album. Then in D-day, the back-haired guy became the power addicted, killed by scar less one. But still he took the scarred ones car and jacket. As if he is now on top. So it can be an endless loop. Or since the scar healed and he still came back to the noodle shop...it can be an end or pause to the loop. This means that agustd's in a black hair killed the king on daechwita but then the black hair agustd also became a power addicted and had this similar behavior of the king. then the black haired from daechwita appeared on this mv (the one with a scar) then SUGA killed him at the end. which we're not sure if he really killed the agustd from daechwita bc it could be an endless loop and the one who killed agustd here might turn out to be one in the future. who knows.
+ if u could also look back at the mv, the guy who called police yoongi was the same one who helped him at the end, before leaving the site agustd (with a scar one) who's in power/ in a police station, nodded to him like job well done see u later... the robbery and being caught was all part of the plan. same way how the butcher at the start of daechwita was his accomplice in kiII!ng the angry king at the end. so mindblowing.
+ also when yoongi is laughing at the fishbowl. the whole idiom “live in a fishbowl”, Here hes like laughing at himself he realizes the fish is living the same way he is. He cant escape being observed, so he sits observing himself. His every moment can be observed and he has no place to hide. just like living in a glass bowl.
+ the chopsticks that he used from the start to kill someone is the chopsticks he used to eat noodles at he last part. so it feels like it symbolizes to the people who commited crimes, stealings, etc was suffering from poverty. It's so hot to think that the chopsticks that he used for murder was the same chopsticks he use to feed himself. AGUSTD!!!!
+ there's also a cute realization in this mv. we might not notice that he also steal tangerines here ;>>

the detective has the scar that has healed over because he is the modern day crazed king (from dwaechita) full of greed. the "criminal" is the one liberating from the shackles of everything and the corruption enforces that mentality of being a slave.
