It's opposite actually. The office cop is kinda continuation of the character in the daechwita who killed the king. They both have a scar on face. The cop is shown to be a corrupted officer, whose illegal or corruped money the robber suga stole. But he didnt need the money, he stole it to lure the officer out or be in his attention, that's why burnt it later. So that he can kill that officer. Thats why there is that joker reference in the end scene, as he wanted to be caught. In starting scene you can see a guy calling cop yoongi to tell that there been robbery at his gang hand out place.
It's just a parallel of daechwita where the commoner killed the king with the help of king guards. Here cop's gang men helped robber yoongi to kill officer.
This whole mv is a genius movieplay with amazing plot. Also yoongi said that the three mvs are connected and once the third mv is released we should watch all three in one sitting.

Love your analysis of the mv, thank you for writing it out, I had exactly the same thoughts! I've watched a few reactors now who assumed the cop suga was the good guy (guessing purely bc of being the cop) and robber suga is the bad guy, but as soon as you look at their actions it's sooo obvious that it's the other way around. I absolutely love the mv and let's not even start talking about the lyrics of the song - PHENOMENAL! I'm really excited for the mv for amygdala, just finished his documentary and he might have actually given a hint as to what the mv is gonna show (sorry, don't wanna spoil anyone who hasn't watched it yet, that's why I'm being so vague), but no matter what, the mv is surely gonna be amazing

Daechwita and Haegeum feels like lost twins because this feels like a pattern. Yoongi keeps killing off his old self (the king with a scar) when his self reaches the point of greed and corruption once again. He keeps doing it to bring himself back down to the ground so that the humble version of himself lives on instead of the one tainted with greed. He shot the king on Daechwita and shot him once again in Haegeum.
That's why he mentioned that he forgave those people who hated them and want only to stay humble.

I am so proud of Yoongi, he is a genius, his entire album is a masterpiece.Yoongi just oozes talent!! Yoongi said "I recommend that you watch all the music videos for "Daechwita", "Haegeum", and "AMYGDALA" in one sitting!" and then he also mentioned in his documentary that in amygdala he wants to talk about how he got the scar on his face. Come to think of it yoongi created a cinematic masterpiece. He is an incredible storyteller.

I think it's the opposite from your conclusion, actually 😅In Agust D, blond Agust D is flexing and saying that he wants everything, basically. In Daechwita, this blond Agust D (now scarred) became a cruel king, and he says how he got everything he wanted and he would go higher, but there's simply nowhere higher to go. At the end, new Agust D kills the blond king. In Haegeum (which means "lifting the ban" by the way), Agust D with the scar, the one who survived Daechwita, is now a corrupted/power hungry police officer who wants new Agust D's money. The song is a brilliant social commentary but I think in context, it talks about the price he had to pay for getting everything he wanted, the things he lost or had to give up. Since the song is called Haegeum, it's also about lifting a self-imposed ban, freeing himself from the past. Maybe the scarless Agust D accepts all versions of his personality. Maybe he attempts to break free from the limits of idol life. Maybe he's trying to say how others watch his life like spectators and he's like that fish in a bowl. Maybe it's all of that. Anyway, the song is brilliant. And I hope Yoongi goes into acting, he's so good!

This is my take on this. The king from daechwita and Agustd got reincarnated in the present. The king still remains to be a powerful individual in the present. This can be seen when he was coming out of the police station. The police office at the door saluted to him. Agustd in the present seems to be an undercover cop. At first you would think that he's a bad guy but as the mv progresses, you will see that he laid a trap for the reincarnated king. At the end of the video, Agustd was able to defeat the reincarnated king (who is now a corrupt high ranking officer) just like what happened in daechwita. I assumed that the reincarnated king was corrupt because he got pissed when Agustd burned the money he took from the reincarnated king's people. Another proof that Agustd has the role of an undercover cop is the scene at the last part of the mv. He was in a police car but was free to get off of it to eat at a restaurant. Therefore, he is not being arrested but escorted.
As for the song, the words used were very good. I guess he was trying to say that our society is filled with hypocrisy, greed, and jealousy. People only support and believe in things that would benefit them. Our society frowns upon a lot of things (therefore the term forbidden was used). I guess Agustd is saying that it is okay to do such things as long you don't overindulge and hurt others. The real evil people are those like the reincarnated king who use their money or/and influence to benefit themselves even to the point that they are causing harm to society.
In the end Agustd killed the reincarnated king and was supported by the people in scene. I guess Agustd was implying that through his own means (maybe through his songs and good deeds) he will try to fight injustice with the help of the people who agree with his beliefs.
Well , that was how I interpreted everything, but I maybe wrong. LOL.
As for the song, I soooooo love it.
This song was AMAZING. The cinematography, the acting, the RAP! It was perfect. So proud of Suga!

According to Yoongi this is the end of the Agust D trilogy. The blond king in Daewitcha is killed by the black haired Agust D. The black haired Agust D becomes the "Boss" in the police. The criminal "SUGA" kills the Boss, thus ending Agust D. He has said that after this album/Tour, he will preform as SUGA and Yoongi going forward. IMO this is his best song and mv ever.
Haegum is amazing!! the MV is like a movie, the lyrics are on another level, it's so deep and raw and let's not talk about the whole album because damn I think It's my favorite one from him!! It's a masterpiece. Min Yoongi is truly a genius 🔥🔥

This song and the mv had me in a chokehold. Not only did Yoongi's acting get MUCH better (and he was already literally a pro), but the entire cinematography backs it up. The song is a banger, no doubt. But the mv is so fascinating. In Daechwita, he killed the blond Agust D because he was too corrupt with anger and resentment. Agust D couldn't take it anymore. But in Haegeum the Agust D scar ended up as corrupted as the blonde Agust D. It's interesting that the new Agust D basically started the mv by killing a person and ending with the memory of it. Agust D is a trilogy because Yoongi was finally able to unite with Suga and Agust D. They are no longer apart because he learned to embrace all of his feelings. In this MV, the new Agust D. is a vigilante and violent villain because that's what Agust D is. But instead of just killing the scarred Agust D, who in this narrative, is a corrupt secret agent, (as happened to the blonde Agust D), he ALSO burned the money scar that Agust D had. My interpretation, which may not be correct. 🤣. Finally, cheers to SUGA for yet another unique work of art.👏❤

I got an opposite interpretation. The 'criminal' is freed of expectations, who he really is - the detective represents the image that he's expected to give off. He's breaking out of the expectations put on him by his role as an idol. And, perhaps, freeing others as well.

I think you missed a major hint. The Yoongi in the suit has a scar over his eye, like both Yoongi's in the Daechwita video. That implies that the one in the suit is the "bottom-class" Yoongi now, 3 years after he killed the king. He's the boss, apparently a mob boss. Yoongi without the scar is taking down the mob. There are also scene in the MV that recreate scenes from the movie The Dark Knight, with Yoongi in the role of the Joker. A detective isn't going to practically drown someone in a barrel and then tell his henchmen to kill the victim like suit-Yoongi did. The part about him fighting himself is probably right, it's just in his first mix tape, Agust D, Suga says that Min Yoongi is dead, he killed him, in the song The Last. What was left was the king but he became an evil tyrant and bottom-class Suga killed him in Daechwita on the 2nd mix tape. Now, on what Yoongi has said is his last project as Agust D, another Suga has killed the bottom-class Suga, the one who was a boss. What's left now appears to be just Yoongi. Not a king or a boss, but himself. That's my take on it.

So, what does it mean that the criminal killed the detective??? I don't know yet. I think these two are representing bigger things in the society. Look that he is talking a lot about freedom and the responsibility that lies within, freedom of speech as well, people who harm others with their free will. Makes me remember the message in UGH... This is my take, of course I could be wrong but it does seem to be the same conflict with two sides of himself. After Daechwita release he said he had not decided if the blonde king died, that's why we didn't see a body. And since he told us to watch Daechwita and Haegeum back to back I do believe it's a continuation of the storyline. I don't think the king died or rather the personality he was trying to kill off but in this video that personality is a corrupt cop. If you notice that when he stole the money he nodded to the guy that called the police just the same as he had nodded to the butcher. I think he planned to steal the dirty cop's money to draw him out and kill him, just like the butcher gave him the gun in Daechwita that's what happened here as well. But Yoongi without the scar is also a criminal so that's why I'm kinda confused and I guess he'll wrap up the story in the Amygdala MV.
the theme of the chopsticks could be interpreted as the old saying: "kill to eat, and eat to live".

Not sure of your interpretation because the suited Yoongi has that facial scar that the "bad dude/king" had in Daechwita. The every-day man in both videos I think are the heroes. They're not the criminals - the wealthy, the powerful, the ones who are all about greed and envy - those are the bad guys at least that's what Yoongi's lyrics are saying..I think.

I always love his lyrics because it feels like I have similar thoughts and thought processes about things to him and so listening to his songs always feels like taking all of my thoughts out of my brain and getting to listen to them all neatly arranged, presented beautifully to music and with exactly the right words used. Honestly started crying when reading the lyrics to amygdala (my fave of the album probably) just because of how much they reflect my own feelings

A theory…in this MV Heaguem scarface AgustD (could be the boss from Daechwita) is killed by this new character Suga/Yoongi, which has no scar on his face. Remember in Daechwita the King was killed by the Boss.
