  • Introducing the brand new Mach 6 Severne sail range!!
    I have had the awesome privilege to be one of the first Severne team riders to receive my new sails and put them to the test. In this video I am sharing with you my experience with all three of my Mach 6 sails (the 5.5, 65 and 7.5) that I raced with at the PWA in Lake Garda and at the Defi wind.
    Throughout these events the conditions ranged from super light 6 - 9 knots at the PWA to 35 knots at the Defi wind in Gruissan. This gave me the full experience of these masterpieces and had me testing the sails to their wind limits. I am also giving you a few rigging and fine-tuning tips at the end of the video that I found to be the most important for me personally when rigging these new powerful machines from Severne.
    I hope you enjoy the video! Let me know in the comments if you have any further question and I will be more than happy to help.

    What a great review!Thank you so much for your input! In which wind range do you use the 7.5?

      Hi there! Thanks so much for your feedback, I am happy to hear that the review helped. For my weight the 7.5 paired with 118L Modena and 38 fin covers moderately light winds, 15 - 18 knots. For the super light winds the 7.5, paired with the 128 Modena and 40 fin can cover winds from just below 10 knots to 15 knots. So all in all the 7.5, depending on board and fin combo, can cover for me between about 10 - 18 knots comfortably. 😊🤟

    Hi Karo, very interesting video. I do not have a Severne sail, but a slalom gunsails. I have a question about the boom length: how much longer do you usually set the boom compared to what is specified on the sail? I understood that the sail must slightly touch the boom, but how much can I tension it for high wind?

    Hey have you tried using the RDM masts for the 7.5m?

    • @KarovanTonder
      @KarovanTonder  Před rokem

      Yes, the 7.5 can only be rigged on a SDM/ApexPro mast. Similar to the 6.5, it will take too many spacers to make an RDM work with this higher luff curve.

      Hi Karo, thx a lot for the Interesting video🤙
      I think RDM masts in these sails could be an advantage for lighter riders. Do you think the Severne RDM cams could be a match in the M6?

    You Sails Severne Sails but why do you Sail a av Board and not a Isonic . For av boards point 7 Sails are also a good Choice.. But they are not Light.. As Severne

      There is not a fixed rule that a certain brand board will match better with a certain brand sail. These brands are all strong in their own right and it is up to the sailor to determine which match is best for his/her own style. Being a lightweight sailor, I am very happy with Severne, because, as you say, the sails are super light, whilst still very powerful and delivers effortless high performance and enjoyment. AV boards matches perfectly for me with Severne sails! Give it a try! 😊🤟

      Thanks for your extensive and pretty Clear answer Karo, and that you take time to do that. For me it's too exspensive to buy that kind of Sails. Lucky Enough a friend of Mine let me borrow his full point 7 ac1 Range Because I've got more time to Sail.. If you Once Taste of a race Sail you don, t want Something else. Greetz from Holland
