You’re the 2nd pro windsurfer trying to wing foil video that I have come across. I didn’t know you were until I read your channel description. I must say I’m shocked at how bad you both were. If I hadn’t seen the videos and someone bet me, I would bet you guys would hop on and go. Thanks for sharing though. It is eye opening. For those of you wanting to learn or in the process, I watched a video that made a ton of sense. He said walk back and forth on the beach with the kite until controlling it and moving from side to side becomes second nature. The idea is you will then only need to worry about the board when you get in the water.

Rigging with no outhaul tension applied is exactly correct for a lot of sails. I'm an OG, from the earliest days of the earliest one-design windsurfer, that had fibreglass mast, a daggerboard, and teak booms. Hope you have the opportunity to try some of the other sail brands, too. Matching boom component sets, mast stiffness rating for the sails is critical. I'm thinking about getting out on my old F2 sailboard and Stinga slalom again, thanks to your inspirational videos.

Thanks for sharing your journey. I recall hearing from a researcher who was working closely with post injuries, surgeries. She said that your brain quickly loses the connections to muscles. Proprioception, otherwise known as kinesthesia, is your body's ability to sense movement, action, and location. It's present in every muscle movement you have. Without proprioception, you wouldn't be able to move without thinking about your next step.

Is there any difference in using a higher or lower boom outhaul on the Severne Glide 2/3? What exactly is the difference, especially for foiling? I heard that a higher outhaul is for strong wind, but I also heard that if you need more power, this doesn't make sense. Only one of these can be true. Please tell me which answer is right and what differences you could feel. How much power could you increase, percentage-wise?

Incredibly helpful! I was getting whipped around today in gusty conditions and I don't think I had enough twist. In overpowered conditions, how far down should you have a loose leech? I had only 2 battens down, but I'm guessing that wasn't enough

Great progress in a short time span! Bending my knees also helped a lot. It looks to me like your rear foot is too far back. I believe it should be in front of the mast.That would allow better weight transfer to the front leg which you need to level the board.

Sailors with moderate fitness and strength are much better off with small sails, rigged for min wind. I gave up on 7.5 and even 6.5! I find my Ezzy cheetah 6.0 has all the power I need when on min downhaul setting, also when wind comes up even to 12 mph I love the new 5.0 on min. I think many people don’t realize they can do this. See my “Kailua windsurfing for seniors” and give it a go. I am 178lbs.

Is this sail heavier? I want to pass from 2 camber to this sail, i am not very good with jybes but i found it for a fantatic price and i want to use it with my 125 tabou manta....for tou yes or not?

Thanks for this video! It made me laugh and also made me feel supported in all my crashing but I've been crashing on the board/foil much longer than 3 days. Just starting to get up on foil slowly but need to just keep it going and plane out to not stall out. You have windsurfing background I have no windsport or even skiing background. Awesome job!!

I recently purchased some Severne race adjustable harness lines like the ones in this video, there is a little Velcro pad that is on the line that says Leave Velcro in place for free mode/ remove Velcro for attached mode . Can you please tell me what this means? And is it possible that you could make a video of you showing how to adjust the harness lines, this is my first set of adjustable lines so any help would be greatly appreciated! Until only 19kn for the 7,0 😮 the Warp 2019 7,0 we use it from 18kn until 25kn ??? With middle size Board !

What I got from this is he's a leonardo da vinci of boards. Combining science and artistry to define a perfect product and then trying to get the best factory to try and replicate it.

Thank you for this video! I liked the section about confidence. Last time I was on the water I realized that my sail was a bit too big for the gusts. And I was pondering: Should I go back to shore and change my sail? But then I said to myself f*** it, I got like 2 hours of sunlight left. I'm not going to spend half an hour changing my gear. And as soon as I had made that decision things got much easier for me and I really enjoyed the following 2 hours with a slightly too big sail :D

On a Facebook site for 40+ year old wing foilers I've been referring learners to watch this video, because it's really the only one that shows in accurate way what those first days are like, even for an expert waterperson in very good learning conditions (good wind flat water).... ultimately succeeding. Only thing missing is walk of shame.
