- A model who helped promote that catastrophic music festival in the Bahamas is denying being involved in planning the event. Amanda Riley says she was offered free travel and VIP tickets to the Fyre Festival in exchange for promoting the event to her followers on social media. "[People] thought I was scamming them and [that] I was in on it. Absolutely not," she told Inside Edition. She joined other models like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner in hyping the festival. #InsideEdition

I thought she just got free tickets to the festival in exchange for promotion (the less famous you were, the more posts you agreed to obviously, hence why Bella and Kendall and them only had to do 1).... and then she didn't even end up going anyway. I didn’t feel bad for the models or the festival attendees frankly. I felt bad for the hundreds of Bahamians who got scammed too and never got paid. Not to mention all the companies that helped out and organized that didn’t get paid.

No lawyer is going to file a lawsuit on a advertising agency doing their job.. unless they actually prove they knew they were committing fraud.. which no one knew..hence why people actually purchased flights and showed up.
They have managers or an agency that set up these endorsements, appearances, etc. Her obligation is to read a script on air or have one of her assistants make the promo on social media.

Actually, most of the tickets that they bought were around 500$. 500$ for a luxury music festival and free food for a week is an absolute steal. It's unfair that the media makes it seem like people were spending thousands.
I feel like some people save up to go to festivals or go on vacations in general. Imagine if you WEREN'T rich but you wanted to get away for a while and do something fun, and then this happened. Technically it's not any of the models fault in this situation. They had the photo-shoot and advertisements done WAY before things got out of hand, and by then no one really expected things to go badly. From what I also understand after watching the documentary on Netflix, the people in charge of the organisation kept a lot of things under wraps.
