In a lawsuit, Mel B. says Belafonte "beat" her and forced her to take part in threesomes "with random women," allegations he denies. Nicole Contreras, a realtor featured on the HGTV show, "Selling L.A.", was a 25-year-old swimsuit model when she met Belafonte in 2000. The ONE thing I don't understand, is how do they not find out til later that he's not Belafonte's child or related to him? Like, when you're dating someone, and in the case of Mel B., proceed to being engaged prior to marriage, do you not meet your significant other's family? Even in certain circumstances where, say, the person you're going to marry is an immgrant and their family is in their country of origin. Wouldn't you go meet them at least once? Find out where he/she is really from? And in this case, wouldn't you at least Google search whether this person is who they claim to be? How odd.
i think she knew he wasn't related to the belafonte family. she mentions in her book that her mum thought it was weird, but mel b just thought it was like a stage name or something and was a normal 'hollywood' thing.
