Guests who forked over up to $12,000 to attend an island music festival in the Bahamas were instead met with empty promises, sub-par food and a tent city for accommodations. A promotional video for rapper Ja Rule's Fyre Festival featured models like Bella Hadid and Alessandra Ambrosio in the clear, blue water, along with lit-up stages and dancing crowds. Instead, fans were met with what looked like disaster-relief tents, mattresses piled up in the dirt and reports of wild dogs running free. #InsideEdition

Gene Strong there's no way tickets were as low as $450. A standard byo-tent-sleep-in-dirt festival is upwards of $400. Plus consider how much a regular international flight costs. They paid a lot more than $450

In 2010 Bonnaroo was 300-$350 for BYO tent for three days and dozens of top shelf performers. I'm sure with this festival there were different tiers of packages, the number of $12k tickets was probably limited and idk if flights were factored into the face value ticket price or not. I'm not sure it even matters, because it seems they did not budget or plan well at all, so they very well may have sold "underpriced" tickets for what wound up being an incompetently "organized" luxury Instragram-worthy experience that turned out to have more semblance to the 2005 Post-Katrina Superdome experience. Maybe the cheap ticket cost is why they didn't/couldn't pay support staff and bands.
