Photographer Awarded $1M From Newlyweds Who Bashed Business Online

- Wedding photos could ultimately cost a Texas couple more than a million dollars. The big price tag is because newlyweds Neely and Andrew Moldovan bad-mouthed their wedding photographer online. Photographer Andrea Polito was shocked by the reaction, because things had started out smoothly in the weeks before the wedding. "We had a conversation, she loved everything and sent in the contract the next day," Polito told Inside Edition. #InsideEdition
You didn't 'just complain'. You defamed, slandered and destroyed her livelihood. I like that judge.

You think wedding photos cost $200? Maybe in the trailer park with that meth head in Lot 8 using his cell phone camera...
except it doesn't work that way cause they'll claim they have no money, and the photographer will likely never see any of it
Aaron Scarpa omg haha it’s cost thousands of dollars
Aaron Scarpa all they had to pay was $150 extra and they refused
100 to 200 dollars? You should hang around with a wedding photographer to see what they have to deal with.. There is travel to the location, the time on site, the investment in the equipment and experience to gather, learning to pose weddings which is an art in itself, and that does not include the time spent editing hundreds to thousands of photos depending on what was ordered. That's not everything, but that's enough.
"We'd love to put this behind us."

Exactly
Yes
Why do I have a feeling You're probably right!!!!
Some people just want something for nothing. I can't believe they destroyed her whole business. I wish she would have gotten more than a million!!
They probably didnt have the money to pay for the pictures
@DankMemer V2 75-100 wedding a year, the price for that wedding photo is $125, 125x75-100 = $9.325-$12.500/year to 0/year, that alone is already hurt, I mean imagine your shop went from making a decent amount of money to non because of one event. Next her studio have to shut down, now imagine your workplace get taken down like imagine your office catch on fire or something. Lastly the couple spread bad name about her, imagine your friend says bad thing about you in your back. Now let see your bussiness is bankrupt, your workplace is gone and people know you as the bad guy and if you call that fake crying then I don't know what your heart is made of, next the $1Mil., Yes $1M is a lot of money, but she can't climb to 75-100 wedding per year instantly after getting that money, she can't get her studio back instantly, and she can't instantly clean her bad tittle instantly and the worst thing is she probably lost interest in photography after this incident.
Whenever I hear, "We want to put this behind us", that means you were clearly in the wrong.
That's just a general statement dude. You can't always attach a meaning like that. For example after a suicide in a familythye might want to out the event behind us.

Serah Brandenn I'm sure they'll live happily ever after. Obviously sarcasm
Angry Commenter The irony of your comment is priceless
It's bullying because the couple wrote in the email they liked the pictures BUT didn't want to pay for it. So they badmouth her. Next they went to almost different media outlets to try to garner fame through the matter. The couple better pay the $1M because the photographer totally deserves it.
The couple wanted the photos but didn't want to pay .... So they made this woman lose her job ... Then she was called a scammer?????
Maybe the couple should be called the scammers
Then they had to pay 1 millon lmao!
RubyGraphics Reasonable amount, maybe deserved even more than that. The couple breached their contract and destroyed a woman's honest business. The court is charging them not only for their lack of performance, but also for the damage caused to her business.

@Krysuna It's not the point here. If you built up a career then someone tried to destroy it with death threats and all, you'll end up being wary about those who wanted your service, doesn't matter even if she gets billions out of it.

@@John-Anderson The contract was for the couple to pay first before getting the photos, that's just basic business transaction. The couple stupidly thought that the photographer would just cave in to give them for free. That's not how it works.
Death threats from strangers who took a couples' word about " Bad photography?" Why do people think it's okay to make death threats online? Those doing it should be looked into. Btw, the pictures were lovely, despite the couple being in it.

They shouldn’t have done that but the shouldn’t have to pay her 1 million dollars! It’s not like they meant to take the business down!
v, don’t call someone a dumbass it’s her opinion
GalaxyCat going from booking 75 to 100 weddings a year to none because she was forced to close her business due to financial reasons. An average professional wedding photographer will charge between 2502-3336+ so if she charged anywhere in that range, 75 weddings a year would've made her from 187,650 - 250,200 And 100 weddings a year 250,200 - 333,600. That's alot of money and 1 million sounds about right since lawyer and court fees aren't cheap and she has to reinvest into another business if she wants to start a new one
They were "unhappy with the situation so they did what anyone would do and complained." Yes because most people complain on TV and social media when they don't get away with taking advantage of someone 🙄
They were stupid
@@eileenmcdonald3162 duh
They didn’t just bad-mouth them. They harassed, attacked, and complained about them.
They didn’t even follow the contract and yet slandered her.
There seems to be a lot of confusion in the comments section about what happened. This couple went out of their way to publicly humiliate and destroy this photographers business/reputation by putting out false information. The money awarded from the lawsuit is for defamation of character meaning they went out of their way to spread lies about her and the business ultimately leading to it closing. The reason behind it? They were just trying to get publicity for their blog. The couple had signed a contract with the photographer and agreed to the prices and process of her services. THEY KNEW that they'd have to pay $100+ for an album cover but suddenly refused to and started calling news stations and spreading the word on social media that the photographer was holding these photos "hostage" when in fact both of them had been exchanging emails and court documents show that the couple was saying they would agreed to the $100+ and couldn't wait to pick out their album covers etc. The photographer couldn't just hand over the final prints when they didn't pay for them; that's common sense.

this is disturbing. The couple didn’t complain like “anyone would,” they complained like children would without considering the consequences of their actions. The photographer suffered because of that.
They didn’t want to pay for the prints so they end up paying 1 million dollars instead of the few couple thousand they agreed to pay. I laughed at the karma
I wonder if they actually paid the $1M or filed for bankruptcy instead.

Yes bro. Be carefull with Karma, it is exist
the photographer is liable to keep the photos if they didn't pay the right amount.. and the excuse of "ohh i didn't like the pictures, so why should we pay" is lame af!! stupidity on their part they have contracts for that.. it says in there that the bride didn't like the final output of the picture, meaning they where sent or were able to see sample copies.. in my opinion they were the one trying to scam the photographer, you can't just commit on some service and decide you don't want it anymore. and not pay.. that's not how the world work.. the mature response would be going to the authorities, file a case, compromise to find a solution, instead of posting it on social media.. oh well, HELLO $1million!!
It's crazy because it was literally over a $150 album cover (which the photographer offered to just waive the fee and give to them) but they chose to go on the news and make her business look horrible.
Haha complaining they don't like the photos. just cause they look ugly(the couple) doesn't mean you can't pay people for a service. i bet she was there for hours too.
Jennifer Smith The bride was building a blogging website and put the drama online and was trying to promote her beauty business, I don't know why because she looks like a flock of seagull face with her witch nose and gap tooth. This is a prime example of self entitlement. They felt as if they did not need to read or abide by the contract.
To to be clear, the million was not for the photos, it was for destroying the photographer's livelihood. That's why there is a law against defamation. For her to win it, the accusations would have to be untrue and the dollar value awarded would be related to the damage the photographer suffered. It seem's to me that this vindictive couple got what they well deserved. A cautionary tale, I should think, to those who leave bad reviews as a means of extortion which is becoming a common practice.
Hobby Queen I find most slander lawsuits to be frivolous. But this case was a textbook example of defamation with a justified ruling.
It didn't help that the bride was a vlogger. If she was a normal person, without a huge following, probably no one would have noticed her ranting.

What where the “contractual obligations” ? Paying her? I wouldn’t give her the photos either then.
I'm glad Andrea turned those tears into a lawsuit! Good for her. Photographers have to protect themselves (Make low quality pictures available online until paid). The client should have finished the contractual obligations and I'm sure the photographer would have sent the pictures to them - with any associated fee.
I live in tx , they will never get the money unless the couple moves to a different state. unless alimony, student loan, or irs, a million dollar judgement is meaningless
