  • Mike Wolo from Massachusetts is lucky to be alive after a horrible accident 20 years ago left his face completely disfigured. His friend, who owned a granite importing shop, had Mike help move slabs of granite that weighed 10,000 pounds each. A granite slab accidentally fell on his face, and his head was crushed to three inches wide. At the hospital, doctors told his family to say goodbye, and they gave him a 2% chance to live. He shared his story with Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall.

But, a neurosurgeon told my parents that he could try saving me. A total of 3 brain surgeries, 11 months of therapy, and having to re-learn everything, including how to walk. I’m a survivor, of a horrible accident that should have killed me. Your story is very inspiring, not just to me but to anyone who thinks that miracles don’t happen.
