RDR2 - Elemental Trail Treasure Hunt in Chapter 2

- This video explains in detail how to do the Elemental Trail treasure maps with Arthur Morgan as early as chapter 2. The first 4 minutes or so show how to quickly do all 4 steps with both John and Arthur, while the rest of the video explains the entire process with Arthur more thoroughly.
Normally, this treasure hunt can only be accessed in the epilogue since it requires New Austin access. In order to do this method, you should be familiar with the buggy and carcass (meat shield) methods for exploring New Austin as Arthur. If you are unfamiliar with these methods, you should be able to find several videos explaining them. Here are a couple that I recommend by Petko:

Excellent job and great explanation! Glad you finally managed to get it since it was a huge personal goal of yours from what you have told me before. Not many people have gotten it yet! Also real lucky with getting the first part of the map with that lawman asking you to leave. Like you said it's better to not have a bounty while in New Austin.

But thanks so much! Yeah, I was lazy about putting this one out since the reward is crap, but I knew at least some people would be up for the challenge. I actually recorded this footage before I did the NA legendary fish video, I just sat on it forever because I didn't know how many people would even be interested and had a bunch of life stuff going on.
Did You figure something? I walked around inside the cave with a carcass and tried every corner from every angle but it doesn't seem to have any point when You're covered (which is totally weird since You're inside a cave) and getting hit from every direction🤣

I don't generally like to make videos about stuff that I didn't figure out myself and I don't know of any Guarma access methods that haven't already been covered by others. I can try to find a link or two later to some useful videos and reply with them. Essentially, you just need to use any method to get out of the map and then find the right spot to cross over (it's basically directly south of Saint Denis, but ALL the way at the bottom edge of the map). There is also a way to fall to your death once you get within the Guarma border South of Mexico, but I'm not sure of that one still works.
Honestly, getting there is easier than getting back out. I would thoroughly research and make sure you can get back out before you go.

Can you make a vid of how to get the new Austin toad ? And do you do RDR2 live streams
I don't do streams, but I can maybe mess around with the toad idea. I haven't made the effort to get it myself (haven't really tried to completely fill out the compendium as Arthur yet), but I imagine it's doable using a buggy. You can switch to 1st person and study/track animals if you get close enough without getting out of the buggy. I think the challenge would be just getting the buggy to that area successfully since it's kind of rocky around there.

There are a few other CZcamsrs that have made videos explaining how to kill the NA legendary animals as Arthur. I don't really like to make a video unless it's something I discovered myself and/or hasn't been covered by someone else.
However, if I do happen to discover a more efficient way to do it, I will consider making a video about it.
How did u set ur camp in Benedict point? Did u ride ur buggy to there with ur horse which has the buck and set camp after exiting the vehicle?
Precisely. I actually took two horses with two bucks just in case one got lost or killed along the way, but one is enough as long as you make sure they follow.

I did the second one with a carcass. There are positions when the walls of the ruins block the bullets and You can grab the map. I even was able to pick back the carcass and go around and studying some animals. You can make a camp very close to the location and save so You are able to retry as many times as needed. Thank You so much for the ideas
(Side note: if You take Your main horse with You, You might end up setting up a camp with a tent and then Youre really fucked, since there is not enough time to crawl out of it and get to Your horse before getting shot😅)
Ah yeah, totally a viable option too. Nice job. I imagine it would be easier with the retries, but harder to get the carcass to that location, no?
I took an Appleseed wagon from Strawberry (its too big to fit it near the chimney 🤷🏼♂️😅)and a temporary horse with a carcass on it. Drove there and set up camp
@@georgesepa6587 you're a braver man than I. I could never feel comfortable driving those covered wagons. I would get killed too often every time I tried. I'd much rather go all the way from St Denis with a buggy. I admire the innovation though. Let me know if you figure out anything else cool while down there. I've found that a carcass is great for dino bones and journal entry stuff as he will keep it on his shoulder while he jots in the journal. Just more of a burden to get around and there's always that fear of snakes nipping your leg and getting you killed. 😅
You know its interesting because I find it safer to drive the Appleseed wagon and get on and off of it then the buggy. To everyone their own I guess😊. I found the Wagon Method on CZcams,someone explaining the dynamics of it and where to find it. Not my invention. Also had no clue that You can draw while holding the carcass. I was trying hunting the legendaries with the carcass but You cant inspect clues while holding it.
And yeah the little biting animals are a bitch for sure😁

@@georgesepa6587 Not sure about the wagon, but you can inspect the clues for the legendaries without having to get out of the buggy. Also, you can aim a weapon and let it autodrive after setting a course. Sometimes you have to be careful on tight turns, but overall it's pretty safe.
And yeah, the animation looks super weird, since he's using both hands, but it'll stay up there while he documents and provide cover the whole time.
You can try it outside of NA if you have any dinosaur bones still to find.
Do you have everything unlocked in chapter 2 possible? if so, what is your percentage?
Not yet, but I'm guessing that once I do, it'll be at, or close to 55%. I wound up restarting a playthrough just to try to get all the guns filled out in ch2 since I missed getting a couple when I had the chance.
I've taken a break for a while, but I'm sure I'll get back to it one of these days. :)
does this work on pc? every time i set up a camp in new austin i die immediately upon loading my save, arthur is sitting at the camp as expected but there aren’t 3 shots before he dies, he just died instantly
found out why it was not working, for some reason i have to pause before the loading finishes because it was loading me in before the loading screen went away, commenting this in case anyone else is having this problem

I have exactly your problem
when I camp near Benedict Point for Elmental Trail map 3, I immediately save the game but when the sniper kills me and I load that save, I'm immediately killed by the sniper again although I'm in the camp!
If I want to be more precise, I'll be killed as soon as the game is loaded,sniper won't let me move at all!
What should I do to solve this problem?I've been killed by sniper more than 30 times and every time I have to go to Saint Denis to get a buggy.
