I think the chimney was fire and the grave was earth. Death-themed mediums as Earth-elemental environments or trials goes as far back in gaming as early fantasy-genres like the very first Final Fantasy. :)

I noticed there was this tiny chunk of New Austin where the first body is discovered that I hadn't completely ran through the map of. It faded out ever so slightly in the middle. To do my due diligence, I rode there and here we are - another treasure. Honestly, I'm so close to having 100% across the board w/ Compendium and animals that I might just sink numerous more hours into my 100% save and finish it off for real. It's hella fun revisiting this game. I wish I were Arthur though.

I keep running into this mad preacher. He first appears near the river at the bottom of New Austen not too far from where you first start out. He then appears in another river somewhere else.

He is a more insane, and less cool Deadpool. Basically he knows he's just a video game character. The God he is talking about that never speaks to him I think is either us, the player or the person that created his character.

The del lobo's actually know about this map, in a random chance encounter i was approached by a couple of them, i killed them all and looted every corpse, on one of them, they had the First map of The Elemental Trail treasure.
I haw that situation i kill all and loot
I killed some bounty hunters by the hanging man area. Apparently they had the map instead of hangman
There's also a trinket under the stairs outside the building located just outside the mine in the Del Lobo hideout in Gaptooth Ridge. I think it's the turtle shell trinket.

I got the treasure map just by skinning an armadillo near where the body was hanging and it was night so I guess I never saw the body

I found this map by following a group of del lobo's who were riding with a third party. I couldn't make sense of the conversation at the time but it seems it was the guy who gets suspended from the cliff who incidentally hasn't appeared on my play through
this one was so annoying because I religiously would check collapsed house's chimneys in search of goodies but never did and THEN after SEVENTY hours of story, you finally get rewarded for a collapsed house's chimney. Touche, R*. I can't believe it took me this many years to play it again.
You blame the Del Lobo's for that guys death? I say he was trying to build a tire swing, got the rope caught around his foot & fell only to be rendered unconscious after smacking his face against the wall which lead to too much blood rushing to his brain.. therefore killing him.
You're probably more accurate, besides from the tyre swing part.

I got the map from killing an unnamed npc in a postman like uniform that was randomly washing his face in the water near the same area
Lol. I like how every time I see people struggling with walking. I remember first person. It helps on gta and rdr2. The walking is just apparently too real that it makes big ol' circles all the time.
Every time I approach the map next to the water tower, I get the prompt to pick it up, and as soon as I activate it, it either throws my character 30 feet, or I just sink straight through the map and die. So far I haven't been able to make any more progress on this quest.

You can actually do this during Angelo Bronte, Man of honor if you get into a shootout with police… just have to be careful about John falling to his death if he follows you on that gutter

When I first visited Coots chapel, I thought the white horse in the front was a ghost for some reason.
In the town of penance, you can sometimes hear a ghost when you stand on the church/steeple. Some people say it's a passerby, some say it's a glitch, some say it's an NPC in the building you can't reach. She often says "Hello" and sometimes I've read that she says "Arthur?"
Also, I'm not sure if you've done one on the legendary catfish, but there's some models and stuff out there and I found it really interesting.

I skinned an armadillo and the elemental map just popped up on the screen lol
Im curious to find out anything about the rando cemetery on the knoll in the area just north of MacLean's House & southwest of Fort Brennand. It is also where "Kamassa River" is labeled on the map and the same area where you find the bones of the shackled prisoners plus its also, if you play read dead online, where you start the 4th moonshiner mission, the cam where you are sent to get oleander sage /cougars are attacking your rivals etc. That one in there. I found it maybe Nov 2018 n still never heard any story behind it, if there is one
Wait was I the only one that this happened to: I shot a rattlesnake and as I was skinning it I got a snake skin, meat, and then the first map. I never found the hanging body.

I never found the hanging body I picked up the map from a decayed corpse near Gaptooth Breach of a guy from the 1700s
idk if its a glitch but while i was looking for the body i couldnt find it on the log but i was also hunting snakes for the trapper when i skinned a snake near the log it gave me the map and the skin
And I got this map by killing a weird, well dressed, guy riding a horse on very end of new austin..

I don’t know how, I was in the oval trail right above the first location and I was just shooting crows when all of a sudden the map appeared in my inventory. I’m other words I didn’t need to shoot the hanging corpse.

I got the first part of the night but when I go to the second part there's nothing there the broken building and fireplace are missing the first time I did it it was there I was able to get all three maps then my game froze now I can only get one map does anyone else know what is going on or do I have to complete something else first.

There is some wagons near the left of the A of the new Austin logo on the map what looks to be the same place where that picture took place of the van der linde gang in persons shop
And when i saw them wagons They looked beat up as hell and been shot with hundreds of arrows

Was this treasure map counted in challenge ? Because i haven't find that dead man to begin the map but my explorer challenge has completed
Do you have to go at night to get that crow trinket and the last thing because I wasn't a day and I couldn't get the the trinket
I was trying to tame a horse in the same area and 4 del lobos came by horse, i was planning to ignore them but by luck they crashed with me turning them hostile, with no choice i had to kill them and got the map on one of their bodies, watching this vid i went to the place where the body was hanged and unsurprisingly the body wasn't there
The Del Lobo gang probably looted the corpse before you which is an interesting detail.
I know it's been a few years and I'm on my third play through but I still need help and it comes to my maps so just wanted to say thank you :-)

I went to the wrong spot for map 2.i ended up getting the Legendary Bass. Then I got the 2nd map. I mailed the fish when I went to get the 3rd map, since it above the post office
you’ll get the trinket for your troubles don’t know about gold or money when finding the grave at coot chapel.
The maps only being availible if you've finished the epilogue isn't true, I found them before
My research said it only happened after. You only really get the opportunity to go that far out after finishing the epilogue so I suppose that's where the confusion came from.
