@@Formerhuman_ you get better at it. In my most recent playthrough, I was easily able to get all 4 NA herbs in one go, and even go looking around for other stuff. Honestly, it's the nerves that get you, but once you understand your limits well enough, it's not so bad. That said, I'm still not sure if I'm going to try to repeat this on my current playthrough. 😅

Haha, i get it. Trust me. I got kids too, but it's kinda cool to get to play games with them and share my passions. I'm definitely a gamer, but what I love more than anything on games is accomplishing things your not really supposed to be able to do. It's fun to watch my kids start to do the same things. I like to think I'm showing them how to think outside the box, but really I just like having little buddies to share these things with. Good luck with it, it's brutal and you can't even finish the fish quest anyway, but it's more for bragging rights or personal achievement than anything else. You can't continue the mission until the epilogue, sadly. So ultimately it's kinda pointless, just for fun.

I think anything in or on the buggy would just bounce around and eventually fall off/out, but I can't say I've tried it, so who knows. You might be on to something. I haven't been playing hardly at all lately, but I'd be interested to know if you figure anything out.

Thanks! Honestly, it's been really cool to discover that there are actually other people that enjoy this kind of stuff like I do. 😊 Good luck with the fish! They definitely aren't easy, but I think the methods I came up with are repeatable with enough patience. I've had a couple people reply that they've been able to do it as well, which really makes me feel good. As far as the revolver, I had someone get in touch with me recently about a method they used to open the chest and give yourself a bit more time to loot it (which is all you really need). We did some brainstorming and had a few ideas on how to make it consistent, but I haven't had a chance to try it myself yet. I'm still stuck on trying to chase the tiger striped mustang back out of NA and capture it. I honestly must have attempted it close to 100 times now. It's turned out to be quite the test of patience, haha.

Oh man would be keen as to see the attempts you made even if you don't manage to pick it up but hey either way keep up the good work, I have a few ideas myself but I am not sure if any of them will work just wild guesses. I accidentally came across the revolver while looking for the dino bone in that area and its like the game was teasing me haha. @@thatssoraving I appreciate it, but I'll warn you, I'm not reliable about putting things out. I really just do the videos for fun when I happen to find something worth making one about...granted nobody else already has, that is. I'd love to hear your ideas for the revolver, but I've tried quite a few different things. I've tried destroying the chest, but you can't loot it. I've tried using the companion glitch and bringing a posse of people down there for sniper shields as they are invulnerable, but they wouldn't come in the cave, sadly. I've timed a hundred or so sniper shots and wrote down every time to try to decipher some sort of pattern, but I've really only discovered a very loose one, if any...and that's probably mostly wishful thinking. I've tried drinking till I passed out and rushing there during the warning shots, but you die before you really even get up. I've tried driving vehicles in there and or forcing my horse in, but no luck. I've tried moving the camera to about every angle possible to find cover, but there's almost nowhere that provides it. The only spot I've found is a small corner of rock at the cave opening that is a matter of inches wide. I've actually been able to use that to open the chest (it's REALLY hard and you lose the cover once the chest actually opens), but there isn't enough time to loot anything. Then, unfortunately, if you come back, the chest will still be open, but you can only loot the photos. It seems dying while it's open locks you out of looting the gun. I've tried a buttload of other ridiculous things...but it really is the ONLY thing in NA that I've not managed to accomplish. The person I talked with came up with a plan of dropping the carcass and then moving the camera while it falls to keep you shielded for a brief moment more while you open it, but once the carcass hits the floor, it doesn't provide shielding anymore. So, essentially, it's just enough to get it open, but not enough to loot it. Using that strat, my most recent idea is to somehow stack a couple or more carcasses on the left side of the chest and potentially the top one would still provide cover. It would be a pain in the ass to get them there and stacked though. And that's assuming it actually works. So yeah, that's a small glimpse into the obsession I've had with that damn gun for, well, years now. I go back and play every now and then, but I certainly don't get on as much as I used to. One of these days though...at least that's what I keep telling myself. 😅 It's really cool to see that people are still getting into this stuff and enjoy it too though. I promise I'll let you know if happen to make any new breakthroughs. 😊 And good luck with the other stuff!! 😬

@@shermutt Hey no worries I enjoy your guides. Honestly I haven't given it as much thought or experimentation as you have and it seems like you have it pretty covered haha. I don't think I will be offering anything new here but I heard that if you use the compass menu instead of dead eye it slows time way more so I was thinking either animal carc method using compass or driving up and blocking entrance with appleseed timberwagon and some how getting lucky with the camera and timing or some how a combo of both, when I next get an opportunity Im gonna experiment with some stuff. Wow! so that would entail going up there and dropping one carcass at a time, I would be worried about despawn though... maybe chucking like 20 animal carcass' in the back of an appleseed timberwagon and taking them up there would avoid that issue? 🤔 Gah Its sooooo annoying I wish I hadn't discovered this gun while looking for the bones haha, I might take a break and try get the horse or the fish but its taunting me and I feel like people are like 99 percent there. I'm gonna slowly chip away at it though but I am guessing ill be doing stuff you have tested like 3750927592 times but who knows. In short, no. In fact, I don't think it even let's you access that part of the quest until the epilogue, unfortunately. I haven't progressed that save file to be positive, but that's my hunch. Happy you got something out of the video though! 😊

There are no legendaries in Blackwater. If you're referring to the ones in New Austin, then no, this glitch won't help with that. Once you cross the border into New Austin, the invisible sniper is still there to kill you.

Unfortunately, yes, you have to get a new one each time. You might develop your own good system to do this, but generally I've found that following a buggy that is leaving out of St Denis over the bridge towards Lagras is the best time to hijack them. If there is a single driver, it's best, but basically this is what I do: I will follow them until we just get out of city limits, then if no one is close enough, I'll jump off my horse and run up to the buggy with my mask pulled up and pull them out. Then you can aim your weapon at them and threaten them. Generally, they will take the threat and not go tell law enforcement and you're good to go. Even if they do go running to tell someone (harder to control multiple passengers and some just don't take the threat), since you are outside of city limits, cops will take a while to respond and you can still make it out with no bounty. Then it's a matter of either auto-plotting a course (slower but easier), or going offroad and eventually using the bridge near flatneck station to cross the river (faster but riskier). Unfortunately, the 45 degree angle wouldn't with on that dock because it's just too narrow. Either way, you have more coverage whole reeling in the fish with your back to a flat surface than you do with an angled one. As far as the chance of getting shot while switching to first person and risking spamming keep, well it's there, but somewhat low if you do it right. The wooden part of the buggy will block at least one sniper shot which should be all you need to get the fish in your inventory.

What method did you use to get down there? I ask because the way the lawmen behave down there is determined by your wanted status when you cross the border. If you are using the buggy method, and wait for the wanted status to go away before crossing the border to NA, you won't get the roaming lawmen that act like Pinkertons when they spot you. They'll just act like regular lawmen, and as long as you aren't committing a crime, you probably won't even see them. But if you cross over it with a wanted status still active, then you get the hulked out, ganged up, shoot on sight type.

@@shermutt I went out of the map and set up a camp and did the carcass method to get the trinket. I know lawmen patrol the area for some reason and I didn’t commit no crimes and they knew who I was and started shooting. I even tried to use dead eye to manage to kill all of em but they killed me when I was in it. (I had the carcass blocking my head the whole time so it wasn’t that I died from that) I’m guessing it was Pinkertons that spawned in but i thought they don’t in new Austin

@@shadowkiller8193 did you happen to get near tall trees while you were out of map and potentially draw their aggro. There is a little spot where you can get a pack of them and steal one of their horses, but I think that method might trigger that same result. The only issue I had to deal with while going for the turtle trinket was the del lobos or whatever right around it. Edit: In fact, I think if you technically even enter the tall trees area, and don't get them on you, it might still give you the same result. That's the only other thing I can think of.

@@shermutt no I stayed away from Tall trees never got wanted making my way to Gaptooth. I even have a bounty in new Austin.

No, I didn't. I mean, I didn't play past ch 2 after catching all the fish, so it's possible that he sends you an invite before the epilogue, but just the fact that you have to meet him in New Austin to finish it, makes me think that it's not likely. Also, even if he did, I'm assuming the sniper would still be active. So you might be protected through the cutscene, but you'd likely get killed before you could do the rest of the encounter and get the hat and lure. And given that you can get his hat early through a "kinda" glitch and that the lure is not really THAT good, means that the only reason to actually complete it would be for the percentage boost. Sorry, I wish I had a better answer. I kind of just did this fish thing to see if I could then thought maybe other people might want to challenge themselves too.

No, this is only for Blackwater. I've made a couple of other videos about doing some crazy stuff in New Austin (such as catching the legendary fish there), but it's some REALLY tricky stuff to pull off. Basically, besides the Angelo Bronte glitch in ch4, there's no known way to turn off the invisible sniper. So, the only way to currently explore New Austin, is by having something that will block the sniper fire, such as a covered buggy, or a carcass on your shoulder. There's actually quite a bit you can pull off using these methods, but they are very time consuming and take a while to master. And one wrong move down there and... ☠️

No. I think you're thinking of the rose gray Arabian, but still no. Unfortunately the stable (or any of the shops) isn't open for business and there aren't any horses in there besides the ones you currently have stabled. Honestly, that was half the reason I came up with the glitch in the first place, haha.

@@shermutt no, there is a random spawn of this horse like it does in Saint Dennis. My free Saint Dennis horse died. So I got another free one in black water in pretty much the same way

@@anonymoose2685 oh ok, I just googled it and it looks like it's an encounter. There aren't any that happen while you're there, so I'm guessing that would be a no. Can you not get the St Denis encounter to happen again once you've done it? There's another free one you can get when you do the horse fence mission where you steal from the Braithwaite stable.

I took an Appleseed wagon from Strawberry (its too big to fit it near the chimney 🤷🏼‍♂️😅)and a temporary horse with a carcass on it. Drove there and set up camp

@@georgesepa6587 you're a braver man than I. I could never feel comfortable driving those covered wagons. I would get killed too often every time I tried. I'd much rather go all the way from St Denis with a buggy. I admire the innovation though. Let me know if you figure out anything else cool while down there. I've found that a carcass is great for dino bones and journal entry stuff as he will keep it on his shoulder while he jots in the journal. Just more of a burden to get around and there's always that fear of snakes nipping your leg and getting you killed. 😅

You know its interesting because I find it safer to drive the Appleseed wagon and get on and off of it then the buggy. To everyone their own I guess😊. I found the Wagon Method on CZcams,someone explaining the dynamics of it and where to find it. Not my invention. Also had no clue that You can draw while holding the carcass. I was trying hunting the legendaries with the carcass but You cant inspect clues while holding it. And yeah the little biting animals are a bitch for sure😁 How the hell he draws while holding the carcass?!

@@georgesepa6587 Not sure about the wagon, but you can inspect the clues for the legendaries without having to get out of the buggy. Also, you can aim a weapon and let it autodrive after setting a course. Sometimes you have to be careful on tight turns, but overall it's pretty safe. And yeah, the animation looks super weird, since he's using both hands, but it'll stay up there while he documents and provide cover the whole time. You can try it outside of NA if you have any dinosaur bones still to find.

Did you happen to be doing a bounty and have someone on the back of your horse? Because any bounties, or missions that require you to have someone on the back of your horse (i.e. the first Rev. Swanson mission) allows you full Great Plains and Tall Trees access (excluding Blackwater, unfortunately).

@@shermutt nope I’ve done the Swanson and bounty stuff in the past to explore tall trees but that’s not what happened this time it was in free roam I was on my chapter 6 save and i entered Great Plains to try to see how long i could survive before being killed by Pinkertons for some reason the pinkertons didn’t appear the glitch only worked in tall trees and Great Plains tho as the invisible sniper was active in New Austin

Not yet, but I'm guessing that once I do, it'll be at, or close to 55%. I wound up restarting a playthrough just to try to get all the guns filled out in ch2 since I missed getting a couple when I had the chance. I've taken a break for a while, but I'm sure I'll get back to it one of these days. :)

I mean, essentially, yes, but they chase you on sight and there are just so many that it isn't long before they swarm you. Then there are like dozens all of a sudden. They aren't nearly as deadly as the Pinkertons that roam around the area outside of Blackwater, but you'd have to burn through tons of tonics just to do any sort of meaningful exploration. This way, you can eliminate the lawmen altogether and just roam the town like any other. The people seem to know that you're a "bad guy" and usually have negative things to say, but it's far more pleasant than constantly being shot at. Also, just for warning, i made it look somewhat easy to perform this glitch in this video, but it's actually not that easy to do. A CZcamsr named Petko (link in description) did another video based off mine that explains a more simplified method, but still not "easy." I guess what I'm saying is it's not worth the hassle unless you really want to just explore Blackwater peacefully and get a feel for the town without having access to the merchants (unfortunately).

Probably. I haven't tried it in a long time, but I don't think they would care enough to patch it at this point.
