- Definitely some room for improvement, but glad I finally got a full run together! At the time of posting, this put me in 3rd overall on the leaderboard. :)

I'll be keeping track of those transition splits, and the splits for each individual level 👀.
I see you've taken slightly different routes on Desolate Plains and Sky Gardens, which I will copy. I'll have to test those out more. Every bit of speed counts, especially on a long time trial!

I don't know if my shortcuts are any quicker, but they are the ones that I figured out (well, actually my 5 yo accidentally figured out the sky gardens one 😊) before seeing anyone else's videos, so they are what I'm accustomed to using. Please let me know what you discover if you test them and I'll do the same.
On that note though, I think I may have discovered a very small "shortcut" on Velocity Highway but it requires dying intentionally. Just before the very last checkpoint, there is a green arrow booster then you enter that large tube. If you fall off the side just after you enter the tube, it will respawn you further up at the checkpoint (if you go backwards from the checkpoint, you run into a barrier and I think that's the plane you need to cross while falling to register it). It definitely gets you up to the checkpoint quicker, but I can't tell if the speed loss of having to re-accelerate makes it a net gain. I think if anything, it gains you about .5 seconds. I tested it a bit, but had to rerun the whole course each time in order to do it, so it was a pain.
@@shermutt Alright! It'll be a while before I try them out. I'm taking a break from Dreams; haven't played it for more than two weeks, and won't be coming back anytime soon. I'm trying to sort out some life issues first.
With Velocity Highway, I noticed the same trick when I fell off there on one of my runs. Like you said, I feel the time it takes you to accelerate doesn't make up for the faster checkpoint spawn. Thanks for sharing!

You may already know these...
1. The dream is split into two scenes, as you can tell from the transition between Sky Gardens and Carnival Crash. As a result, finishing Desolate Plains and Carnival Crash more quickly will provide different setups for Sky Gardens and Velocity Highway.
2. You can go into the Genealogy to practice each scene. But I've been told that if you finish your run this way, your overall time as shown on the leaderboard will change. I haven't tested this out myself, but just be careful of that.
Oh, I didn't know those, thanks! That makes sense though. I've definitely noticed that there is a longer transition between the 2nd and 3rd zone than the others. I'll have to play around with it and test some stuff out. And thanks for the warning. Hopefully I won't accidentally delete my run! 😬
@@shermutt Only faster times get uploaded to the leaderboard, with tied times being replaced with the latest timestamp.
If you play Carnival Crash through the Genealogy, the timer will start at zero, so it's a dead giveaway.
