I thought that but then i noticed the water in the background between two hillsides so i was adamant it was the chimney by butchers creek.
Until i got there and of course the chimneys are completely different looking
It was only after giving up and returning to exploring new Austin that i found it luckily lol

I got the map from skinning a turkey nearby after I realized the body didn’t spawn in ... lol
Thanks for this. I found the first map a few days back when I was trying (& failing) to get into Mexico, when I suddenly noticed a dead corpse above me. Then I spent the next four minutes trying to get to the top of mountain it was hanging from, only to realise once I was up there that I had to shoot it down from the bottom.

I do this sort of thing locating rock carvings Dino bones. Getting off and walking saves horse killing itself. Gotta get from van horn to Blackwater under 17 minutes, anyone complete horseman 9? Where do you cross at the river upper Montana before heading to Blackwater? I found a broken bridge and I’m thinking maybe I have to jump this bridge on horse(!) yo complete dry dash? I got the first map from shooting and skining a rattlesnake near where the body was supposed to be hanging but no body was hanging from the rock just kinda weird to me

Kk sooo had something really weird happen here. Noticed the corpse X on the map and was on my way to investigate. Right before rounding the corner to see the corpse my horse was spooked by a snake. In the market for some perfect snake pelts I got out my varmint rifle and took care of business. Skinned the snake and looted the pelt AND the first elemental trail map. Finally went to check out the corpse and it wasn't hanging there and when I double checked the map the X was gone 🤯
Same thing for me, but it was on the dead body of one of the 3 random riders that happened to be riding past right as I passed the body

I'm doing this on Arthur during the Bronte mission. On PS4. Definitely don't need to beat the game. Just do the mission where youre with John robbing the grave robbers during the actual story, not replay and you can do everything you need to do in New Austin and then complete the mission. Only part that sucks is going from Saint Denis all the way past Tumbleweed... literally going across the entire map...
But hey, at least I don't get shot at by the sniper and no lawmen anywhere

This was a horribly put together guide, why would you not put the location on the map before traveling there and searching for the treasure map. Like you travel to the location, find the treasure map, then open it then show us where you already are? SHOW US WHERE TO GO FIRST.
