Wanted to say thanks to everyone who have watched the video and left so much important, valuable feedback and truly kind comments! So appreciate you all!
As for the Moog One not being included: It is a very large and expensive synthesizer to fly with and I was just recovering from pneumonia when I did this shoot. So it had to stay at my studio this time. Also, the Moog One is so beautifully feature rich and deep that it would have made this video twice as long. I’m sure sometime in the near future I’ll return to focus on just the amazing depth of the Moog One and show you just how unique and expansive it truly is. Not to mention the beautiful support that Moog Music is providing for it.
I have fallen in love with it and it’s sound. It is an entire electronic music lab in one beautiful package. It’s also a beautiful and creative inducing contrast to the other synthesizers covered in this video.
I consider it a large modular system with full polyphonic capabilities, along with film score quality sound.
It’s worth it...
I’m working hard to really master my accuracy and speed of developing a fast moving and fun tutorial for the Moog One. Until then, here’s a nice introductory feature of the Moog One I conducted at the Factory...

Thanks again for all your kind enthusiasm and have fun patching & creating your own music!
Love to all, LBD ❤️☕️
You have some great skills, what a truly excellent demonstration.
Although I have never heard about you before this video, I must admit that I enjoyed your expertise and passion! I will pay your channel a visit. Thank you!
Excellent demo Lisa Bella Donna !! Hope to see you again real soon at home in Akron oHIo🎹
Lisa Bella Donna I love MOOG !!!
Lisa, you did one of the best playing on the Minimoog I saw on a while. Very gritty and articulate, awesome work! :D
I first watched this 3 years ago and today I finally bought the grandmother and as a guitar player who has no idea how to play anything with a keyboard .. I can’t wait to learn !! So excited
Ms Bella Donna exudes this energy where its like Shes your keyboard aunt
i still love her demo of the Mellotron m4000
I regularly come back to that video just to enjoy her playing
I LOVE AUNT LISA! ❤️
Her M4000D Mini demo is so good. I wish I could find one somewhere.
Haha I listen to that demo also regularly. She should do a whole performance with that and a few pedals 👍
Auntie Moog!
Lisa, you need your own channel with a weekly show. Would watch every single one. Brilliant.
Six Missing she does
YES! :)
Oh heck yes!
I love the performance aspect of a true synthesist, as opposed to a piano player playing a synth. I like how a true synthesist "plays" the filter, LFO, etc. controls live. They're really a "playable" part of the instruments that makes is so much more expressive.
Gabriel Velasco I totally agree! A true synthesist is really amazing to watch and listen to!
But don't overlook the fact that Lisa is also a very capable keyboardist, which all synthesists are not. True, you can create, and in real-time, mold and change sound, even if you have no keyboard background. But adding a player's technical keyboard playing ability is another tool in one's toolbox, and releases limitations a less-experienced or capable player has in being able to make choices and express themselves when playing.
ken gruz The point is: you don’t have to permanently use one or even both hands for knob-twiddling in order to do a synth justice, i.e. to not play it like a kind of static organ. I love to *play* with both hands *and* simultaneously change the sound. The magic word is *aftertouch*.
I mostly have 4 to 6 parameters routed to it resulting in either subtle nuances or completely different patches.
My choice was the Subsequent 37, btw, because it’s the only one which can store such a mod matrix setting in a preset.
@@RayyMusik I understood the point. Let's just call keyboards, pedals and such- Controllers. And like any controller, the more skilled you are to use them- even a knob, or a keyboard- the better advantage you have.
@@RayyMusik Yes on an fronts. Craft a melody by tickling the ivories and caress it into mind boggling worlds by playing the knobs. The other secret to doing both simultaneously is to use an expression pedal, which not only gives you another appendage for direct control, it also naturally leads to getting your whole body physically into the rhythm as you expressively pump the pedal with your performance. The Subsequent 37 is my desert island synth. The sequencing, patch memory, amazing total DAW integration, complex modulation options, and obviously the stunning sound quality. I would buy a second Subsequent before buying a Minimoog or Grandmother. The Matriarch is tempting for the 4 voice paraphony, hi-pass and stereo low pass filters, but the lack of patch memory, hidden configuration parameters and simplified envelopes seem like painful compromises when compared to the Subsequent. And I'm very curious if any of the Moogs discussed here other than the Subsequent output MIDI CC on every knob.
They made the right choice having Lisa on.
Lisa is a freaking synth Jedi master. Amazing!
No kidding …. This is Yoda level playing
The Matriarch demo is wonderful
I know I’m late to the party. But Lisa you are the best thing on the internet. Just bought a matriarch.
Lisa is incredible, could listen to her play anything with keys all day.
I want more of this lady. She got skill. She got knowledge. She got looks. She got sass. Perfection
Zack Perkins Lisa is an amazing musician and total babe. I love her! ❤️
Lisa Bella needs to do a master class
came here for the moogs and stayed for the INSANE synth performances. especially the moog grandmother one was very impressed!
Lisa lightning fingers smashing it again. Splendid.
Alex Ball ❤️
She is the Matriarch, amazing work Ms Bella Donna.
Mona is that secret session player on every jazz fusion record you listen to
Jas Bataille ❤️🙏🏻❤️
I legitimately cried at 16:00 the way Lisa works with the matriarch is a thing of beauty
That first demonstration on the Matriarch made me misty eyed. You’re a real sorceress of sound on these beautiful instruments, Lisa!
The only thing cooler than these synths is Lisa herself.
Subharmonicon and Mother 32 will arrive tomorrow and I haven't been this excited in years!
I know the feeling. Just got my grandmother today, and I was dreaming about the FedEx guy last night waiting on that knock on the door.
That Matriarch pfff blew my mind away
Now that i saw Lisa again rockin Grandmother again... my Grandmother seems AGAIN even more awesome. Thanks Lisa.
I’m always blown away by Lisa’s pure skill
One of the best synth demos I've came across on CZcams!
13:15 made me get a Matriarch. And I'm not kidding.
KNIV any idea how to recreate that patch she played there? It’s breathtaking. I tried matching her knobs but it’s so hard to see.
@@austinm7738 I recreated it by stopping the video at this time mark, making a screenshot and zooming the most hard-to-see areas! You can check the result here:

Even Lisa liked it :)
Wow, these synths are SO expressive. It’s awesome how she’s not just playing the keys but the synth!
step 1: be able to afford a moog
Hahahahaha........................😭
Step 2: Realize you are getting a Model D, for that classic sound. ...Just not a Moog Model D.
The Grandmother is $899.
@Aaron Foltz That is a bargain
The sub phatty is only 600 now.
Sometimes i just come back and re watch this video... Such an amazing performer
Sub 37. ‘Rich and delicious’. That was enough for me. Mine arrives tomorrow!
The Minimoog basslines on Ultravox songs are just awesome
That Grandmother trick, feeding the filter output to the noise input really does add to the sound! Wow
Truly the queen of the Moog. I like the taste you have. You bring out the character of the synth without overdoing the Moog sound.
What a talented woman!
I actually first dipped my toe into the semi modular/modular world w/ the Moog apps for iPad. Well worth checking them out to understand the basics of synthesis, which can then be applied to the real deal
Lisa is an amazing artist, totally devoted to her craft. Humanity has future as long as there are people like she.
Lisa is such a great spirit and sophisticated musician. For me one of the best ambassadors for Moog they could get. My personal actual favourite after lots of testing is the matriarch - no model d though but much more flexible.
More videos with Lisa Bella Donna please.
I found myself forgeting this was about choosing a synth and got totally wrapped in your jams. I'll be looking for more of your work. Really inspiring Lisa, thanks.
Whatever Lisa Belladonna plays, it's a joy to listent to. When a Moog is in her hands... it's heaven!!
Yeah, that bit at 15:00 on the Matriarch is such a mix of cartoon, bliss, and joy: well done!
The matriarch is what pushed me over the edge. What a piece of hardware!
She knows what she is doing. Much more musical creativity than just boom boom boom EDM !
I wish Lisa Bella Donna could give me music lessons. That would be a dream come true. The work on all the synths is sublime but there bits on the Matriarch that made my hair stand on end. That never happens! Absolutely incredible musician, I love you!
not only does she know her shit but she is from what i can see a lovely human being as well she is filled with love and light rock on sister
Wonderful work as usual, Ms Bella Donna! 🥰 Just got the Matriarch in my studio and wow I’m in love with it already!!
I love that Matriarch patch! I added one additional mod where I send the Matriarch triangle LFO output through an attenuator, and into delay1 input, and then I can dial in some serious, floor shaking, low bass slowly increasing the triangle rate from low, and leaving the attenuator dialed full left!
I appreciate at the end of the demo of the Mother 32 and DFAM Lisa told the non-keyboard players out there to buy! Sold!
Lisa is very easy to listen to and I always love her enthusiasm.
I’m glade to see that reverb has LBD doing their synth stuff. This synth goddess hasn’t had half of the attention she deserves.
I'm a guitarist/bassist who has always loved synth sounds. Bought a Mother-32 a few years ago and I loved it so much that I went all in on a Matriarch this year. Oh my gosh, it sounds phenomenal! Such a rich and satisfying instrument.
It's so sick
I'll be getting mine soon. Can't wait.
I'm a drummer. Bought a mother. Also want a matriarch.
Which do you like more?
An actual synth player demonstrating some beautiful instruments. Bliss!
Much better than the Moog videos out there. Nice information. For most of us working slobs cost is the defining factor on what to buy.
I think it’s super inspirational to have a woman show her talents and skill set to us the synth audiences;). Thanks Donna for sharing your love of synths with us. Your the perfect spokesperson for this generation! And We the Gen.X’er’s. Who grew up in the late 70’s and 80’s. This now is the second Golden age;)
She knows her stuff...this video blew me away...very helpful indeed...only problem is now I want them all now!
I wish I could take synth patching lessons from her. She is obviously very talented and knowledgeable. She should record and sell a synth programming master class, a whole course that starts with the basics and ends with advanced synth programming and patching techniques that get you to the point where you can pretty much hear a sound in your head and be able to reproduce it on the synth. She could break it up into "semesters" that start with the basics and proceed from there. I would definitely pay for that.
Might be because im more of a guitar player then a keys player, but this is the first reverb video where I've been blown away by the musician.
I first saw Lisa on a Mellotron video, and was impressed enough to search out her name. I think she always brings excellence.
wow. She's pretty incredible.
Great video! My band uses a Sub 37 and a Matriarch as our main bass, lead, and ambient pad synths. They’re the core of our sound. Classic and irreplaceable ❤️
What a funky player. Nice.
I know those Moogs are great but you playing them, just INSPIRING!!!
Wow. She’s great. I could watch and listen to Lisa all day.
This video is great. It's not just the best Reverb demo I've seen but it's the best synth tutorial and explanation as well. Crazy good. Crazy.
Loving the sound quality in this video. You did a great job displaying its abilities. Thank you.
I've always loved the sound of the Moog, watching your fingers fly over those keys is magic!
Thank you so much Lisa! You're the only one who actually broke down the many possibilities of the Moog synth. You made it look so easy. Thanks. I'll look into it and find ways to improve my music projects.🤗❤️🌙
Thank you Lisa. Hope you are feeling better. I so enjoy your playing and programming. Great to hear you talk about the Moog stuff, which I love as well!
Gorgeous! And what a spectacular display of talent, artist workshop from Lisa - our Moog Goddess!
I came here to get a bit of info on Moog. This girl knows her stuff. It’s great seeing someone with this much talent and enthusiasm.
Lisa, you Rock! Your musicality and ability to explain just how to make these wonderful beasties do their magic is beyond reproach. Great stuff!
Great vid/product review format! Well done, Reverb & Lisa!
Generous, thorough, educational, artistic. Thanks for this thorough and well explained guided tour.
Moog is lucky to have you! All of your videos are so informative and inspiring, and you're truly tapping into the full potential of these amazing machines!
This is such an inspiring video! This showcases how amazing of an instrument the synthesizer is in the hands of a talented synthesist!
Thanks for your expert opinions. Great instruments in talented hands.
Loved how you broke down key points about the Moog's.
I love the fluid playing and the exciting melodic and harmonic as well as texture rich sounds Lisa Bella Donna coaxes out of the Moogs, Some great deep, gnarly left hand riffs too!
Great work Lisa... I love the way you set arpeggios, then glide up and down the keyboard playing.. Its very you and your playing style, which I love ! Great video
So clear , fully easy understanding in so little time used
Moog teacher of the year !!!
"I have 9 of them...." I expected like 3 tops
I have been a Moog fan for years and owned many. But the latest range of semi-modular synths are just awesome as amply shown here by Lisa Bella Donna. Great demo.
Lisa's demos are sooooo freaking good.
some of my favorite music in the world these days is just whatever you are playing on CZcams...and I learn a lot while I'm at it. Thanks.
Lisa this was so great. Did a deep dive and have become a huge fan. Thanks so much, I hope you keep doing demos.
Matriach is my fav. Thank you Lisa for this amazing performance
This is just an incredible demo. It’s awesome to see someone utilizing these gorgeous machines, who has the knowledge of synthesis, and applies it, as opposed to so many other demos, where the person showing the synthesizer treats it almost like a keyboard with effects knobs. This was a treat to watch. I got my Grandmother this past weekend, and after a month of research, getting to play with one at guitar center, one of the deciding factors in buying one was watching another video that Reverb did , comparing it to the Korg Minilogue (which I have as well) , along with all my other research, and the fact the the semi modular capability allows me to use other modular synths like the DFAM or Mother 32, any kind of module that could be used in modular setup... since it arrived, it’s easily the synth I play the most, over the Minilogue or my OP-1 . I love using all my synths to create layered pieces, but there is nothing like a Moog, or I should say the Grandmother, since it’s the only Moog I own, after wanting a Moog since the 90s. As a guitarist, nearing 3 decades of playing guitar, I’m completely entranced with synthesis, learning more about it, and couldn’t be happier with the GM. Even the very cool, yet simple box the Grandmother comes in, is awesome .
Beautiful demo. It's clear you work with the magic through these machines.
Ms Bella Donna is one of my favorite synth persons. Great energy, wonderful music.
As myself, i have acquired the Sub 37, because of the presets storing capabilities.
It's my first Moog synth, and i can't be happier. Great complex synth, with great character.
Does have that typical Moog feeling to it, you can hear it all over the mix. It's a thing you like or not.
I like it a lot :P !
The grandmother must be my favourite synth, absolutely love the sounds you can get from it!
Great sounds and a very skilled player. Her high speed runs are super tasteful.
One of the best Moog demos I've seen on CZcams. Thanks Lisa. Such a fan of your music/passion, and mastery of these incredible instruments :)
such a fascinating, and enjoyable demo film? I really didn't want it to end!? Thanks Lisa.
Wonderful comparisons: the Matriarch is my favorite - mesmerizingly rich.
Even though I only understand maybe like half of how Moog synthesizers work, I still love that there’s so much I don’t understand. It keeps the fascination stoked! Amazing job Lisa🤘
Thank you Lisa. This was amazing. The last demo with the DFAM and M32 was wonderful.
Such a great video from a true master. Every single sound she creates is fantastic. I definitely need a Matriarch!
Incredible playing and creativity! Love the music so much!
The live performance patching with the rhythm synth and Mother 32 was excellent.
I own a mother32. It's the best electronic music purchase I've ever made.
Fantastic video. Great sounds and a superb presentation. More from Lisa please!
Thanks you Lisa..Looking seriously at the Matriach and Subharmonicon...
Lisa, not only are you a great artist but you also know your way around an oscillator. Great information.
The matriarch in a class of its own, wonderful demo Lisa
