I just started to set up my studio for the first time in 7 years after turning 60 and decided to start making music and playing guitar and learning the synth especially the Moog Sub 37 which I already own, I had stopped due to a bad injury, I bought a Moog Sub 37 and a bunch of amazing gear and never used any of it and just now trying to learn the Moog and stumbled on this video. I feel like I hit the the jackpot because you made it easy to understand how musical this instrument way you showed how to use the glide, arpeggiator and oscillators to say go from the root to the 5th and and than add ing the 3rd arpeggiated. . I was floored how amazing you made this keyboard sound with such simple yet useful techniques. I am 100% getting your course tomorrow. I am an old man and complete newbie and can't wait to study your videos. I am going to rock this. You are amazing and inspiring🙏
Hey Bob! Thanks so much for your kind words. I can not express how much I appreciate it if the knowledge I share has this impact on others. Keep on having fun with this amazing instrument.
About twenty years ago, I walked into a music shop and saw the Moog Voyager which had just been released. After playing with it for a few minutes, I really wanted one. I thought long and hard about buying it, but I didn't play an instrument, I'd never owned an instrument -- it seemed like a lot of money for something that might just sit on the shelf.
For twenty years, I regretted not buying that Voyager, so for my 65th birthday, I bought a Subsequent 37 as a retirement present. I had bought a couple of other synths in the last twenty years but none of them ever filled the hole left by that desire for a Moog until I'd bought the Subsequent. Haven't watched this video yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.
Bought a Sub 37 a few weeks ago and have been watching so many videos on CZcams BUT omg this one is by a million miles the best. Absolutely world class demo of this machine. You sir have an wonderful talent. Don't worry about mentioning Bodzin, your own legacy will naturally happen with this skill level. Super super video young man.
I would have believed this maestro is the 👻 producer of bodzin. sorry stephan lol 😆
Hey lovely people.I am working on a bigger Moog course at the Moment! I wanted to know what exactly you liked in this class and what you would like to hear in the upcoming one! Just drop a comment below ❤️
Hallo Yannek, netter Kurs, echt gut gemacht.
It would be nice to have a start to finish type of course or one even more focused on chord progression and melodies. Will it be available on CZcams ?
Thank you for sharing these secrets. Immediately increased my enjoyment of my Subsequent 37.
THX so much! One of the best Workshops around here!
What is truly wonderful, is to not only see youthful guys getting into my friend Bob's inventions, but taking them so much further and really showing a deep sense of mastery of the instrument. I know many think that, for example, Wendy Carlos was the real deal and had great insight into the moog. But truly she was just scratching the surface of her own mastery of the instrument. And I find a similar thing with some of our other greats. How about Tangerine Dream? They were writers but the patches were not all that advanced. And neither was the equipment. Engineers at todays Moog, have not been asleep for the last 50 years. They are strategically re-inventing this machine. And to lovers of all things Moog, it is so sweet to see and hear the advances.
Vielen Dank dafür ! Hammer Masterclass🖤
Bitte mehr davon 🙏
this is really so useful. thank you so much everyone involved
Goosebumps 🙏🏻
Can't wait to have this synth in my studio, amazing masterclass, thanks!
Just bought the sub37 and came back to this session :)
This is seriously brilliant content. Really appreciate you sharing this knowledge for free
Great workshop thank you!!! I just got the Sub37. Can't wait to try this!
Super inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
Been waiting for this. Love it mate . Really inspiring
thanks buddy
I have been interested in the Subsequent 37 for a while, but half because of the legendary Moog name and the aesthetic and layout of this machine, but this video demonstrates that it sounds and performs beautifully. And I appreciate the working process, of applying effects from the start, to generate inspiration instead of working from a raw/flavorless bass and then imagining a final result. Gives me ‘license’ to work the way I want to, rather than how I think it’s ‘supposed to be done.’
Just got this beauty and found this video very helpful and also quite inspiring, thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot for inspiring!
really nice masterclass! enjoyed it and it helped a lot! thx
Love this. A testament to this amazing instrument.
Also, the camera guy may have been a little annoying for the presenter, but his commitment to providing clear views of the knob positions throughout the patch is very much appreciated!
Great content, thank you Yannek and keep up with the good work.
Bests,
Marc
this guy is smrt , and i enjoy learning how to play my synth from him. More pls.
Inspiring. Really interesting sounds. Thanks a lot.
I don't know who you are. But it was amazing! I have the Sub 37 TE myself, but I also have the Eventide Space. Thanks! And musically yours! Liselotte in Karlstad, Sweden. Keep up the good work!!
amazing! thank you very much

he's got a a taste man
8:27 as he is messing with the sounds and he gets it just right🤣
Good info dude
Hi !!! good review of the Moog
what brand of laptop is that? model ?
it's a MacBook, with something covering the apple logo.
Very good explainations. Thanks a lot. Any chance to share the Sub37 preset you created during your presentation?
Hey :) Unfortunately I didn’t safed the preset. I made a whole course about the sub 37 where you can learn to do it all by yourself :)
@@yannekmaunzwhere
Hi Yannek, can you please explain what is needed at a minimum in order to use the Moog as you use it in this workshop? Cables? Other devices?
You need: 1. The sub 37 2. 2 Midi cables (or 1 USB); Power cable; Aufio cable 3. Any DAW 4. Delay and Reverb (doesn’t matter which one)
Shall I buy the Moog Subsequent 37 over the Sequential PRO-3? Which one is better?
They are both very unique! I personally prefer the Sub37!
@@yannekmaunz Wie geht es deinem Arm?
Òkay bro
What software is used? He said Valhalla. Which one? And I also see at 27:19 min something on the screen, what is that?
Daw: Ableton live / Plug ins: valhalla Vintage Verb
👍🏻
i cant make any sound with my moog if i put the arpeggiator on.. on dow is on. help!
if you have the sync button on while your daw isn’t playing it won’t make any noise, check that out!
@@SkylerAcord Thats it! The Arp is only playing when its receiving tempo information from your DAW (so the track has to run). What do you mean with "on dow its on?" Hope you've found your way :)
@@yannekmaunz thanks a lot. amazing stuff really.. still trying to get same sounds. very very hard tough. especially from minute 26 on. cant make it.
This is a great video!!!! That trick when you use the delay on the arp to kind of get close to chords should work on a Grandmother as well, shouldn't it??
Great video!!!! 😎😎
yes for sure, it's just a technique do express yourself :)
yes. works with every kind of a synth! Also VST´s.

Weiß jemand was 🙏🖤
Verstehst du ihn nicht? Subsequent ist quasi identisch mit dem Sub37.
@@kraenk12 Doch! Klar 🙏
@@dimitriostriantafyllidis3025 was genau meinst du damit?:)
@@yannekmaunz würde gerne sehen wie man analoge synths / Sequenzen in ableton aufnimmt .Bzw wie man mit analogen synthesizern n track fertigt !
@@dimitriostriantafyllidis3025 hey:) Ich habe genau das alles in meiner Production class mit dem Moog erklärt. Kommt gegen juni raus!

Let’s learn how to properly pronounce Moog
😂❤
@@yannekmaunz you were great!
😴😴😴😴
It’s pronounced Moug, not Moooog. Damnit!
He pronounced Moog incorrectly, therefore this is more like a novice-level inservice.
Dutch isn't his first language.
@@couchcamperTM Irrelevant.
Haha!! Love this one
@@yannekmaunz it’s correct though. You should know how to pronounce it correctly. Still a dope tutorial.
@@couchcamperTM German is and it’s the same pronunciation as in Dutch.
@ymaunz i bought the subsequent moog 37 and i'm trying to get it to work on ableton live but i'm not having success, could you help me?
