Me (GSTAR321) doing a live commentary and playthrough of Virtua Fighter 4. I play as Lei Fei.
Virtua Fighter 4 is exclusive to the PS2 (in terms of home consoles), and is a very enjoyable fighting game. It has great graphics, great characters & GREAT music.
This was a game I played quite alot back in the 'PS2-era' days. It holds alot of appeal. And in my eyes, it contains one of, if not, THE most comprehensive training mode in ANY fighting game I have ever played to date!

This is the only Virtua Fighter game I had for the PS2 I was in love with this game.
The main menu was so calming.
I know. Looks great too.
Sarah was my main back in the day, her speed was deadly and that upkick combo into the wall for great damage. Used to suck this game up with her.

What I liked about Virtua Fighter 4 over Tekken 4 - is the large number of ethnic outfits, all representing a particular martial arts discipline. That was less present in the Tekken series. Shaolin Monk. Drunken Monkey Kung-Fu Master. Thai-Boxer. Ninja. All very distinctive and representative. I generally dislike "generic fighters" who do not seem to represent any particular discipline. There was never a Shaolin Monk in any of the Tekken series games. And it took a really long time for them to include a ninja.
Really???? Feing wie in tekken 5 is basically a shailon character and I think lei wulong represented drunken very well in tekken 4 mabye yoshimitsu is kinda funky for a ninja and tekken 4 is considered the most realistic and serouis tekken but still virtual fighter is the most realistic and serouis fighting game series and I really like the way the characters look in virtual fighter I wish there was a story mode but I guess not having story makes the characters more mysterious
I used to play the crap out of this game too when I was a little girl & when I was a young teenager.

The latest VF's i.e this and 5 are underrated and very deep in terms of the learning curves, fundamentals, etc, for each character.

i now know exactly what bothers me about vf intros. They show you the entire game. Like THE ENTIRE game. lmao. Every character, every stage, every stage event etc.
The counters compared to Tekken series just looks so realistic and awesome looking in VF games

This is probably one of the few games I´ve seen where you have to face the entire roster (I think that Street Fighter 2 games also had the same situation).

I know this is a strange question,but does the "Virtua Fighter 4" ps2 disc have the blue back to it? Unfortunately, my ps2 slim doesn't play those kinds of discs. Great channel you've got here btw,and I'm definitely subscribing :)

I played this game for months when I was 8.
I could beat everyone easily apart from Dual, I occasionally won a single round.
But never won the fight.

I remember when this game came out exclusively on ps2 but I started out with the update virtua fighter 4 evolution and it was released for $19.99 amazing value for such an amazing fighting game that never gets old I just wish sega released a new virtua fighter 6 I play a lot of virtua fighter 5 on Xbox live if anyone wants to go at it gt sega dreemcast

3 hour training mode that's crazy.

Also, Kage is pronounced "kah-geh".
@Stefano Pavone I've read there are two pronunciations, for two different meanings. And idea if that's accurate?

Yup, from the shaolin temple movie. He is sort of a mix of both of them now that you say.
In future Fighting games, I would like to see a Chuck Norris inspired character, or a Donnie Yen inspired character. That would be intresting to see.

I loved this game to death. I actually prefer the original VF4, to VF4 Evo.
Meanwhile VF 5FS Very hard mode has fights in it I struggle more with than Dural in the same difficulty :p
