- Game: Virtua Fighter 2
Version: 2.0
System: Arcade
Me (GSTAR321) doing a live commentary and playthrough of Virtua Fighter 2. I play as Shun Di.
Undoubtedly, this is one of the most classic arcade fighting games of all time!
This was the game I played the MOST back in the day in arcades. For it's time (and still even today), it had amazing graphics, fluid animations, great sound & funky 90's music!
However despite all the positives, this is unequivocally one of the hardest fighting games ever made. The AI is unrelenting!
Enjoy! - Hry
"I like drunken characters"
BO RAI CHO INTESIFIES
A borracho in Spanish means a drunk...get it now
I was wondering about this lol
@Limited Infinity what kind of trailer trash are you hanging out with?
Shun Di dose not puke like Bo Rai Cho
@Limited Infinity That's your opinion
"I didn't give a fuck about any of that shit, I just wanted to play video games, true video games"- Gstar321 aka legend.
I love how your grandmother would “shoo” kids away from the vf machine. She probably didn’t get the concepts of turns or playthroughs, so she thought people were just trying to steal your fun lol
Man I love your stories, always makes me laugh and brings me back as well. Good to see you're back uploading man.
Honestly, I love the stories that you tell at the beginning of your videos about certain games. It really showcases personality that other CZcamsrs lack.
This guy is correct. I had it on Sega Saturn, and ALL I DID WAS THROW! It was hell getting the secret Dural ending when you see her face.
Stressed Turtle you can beat it fairly. I’ve done it many times with Sarah on every difficulty level. The more you spam buttons, the more the AI will just own you. You do kind of have to learn every character in this game and figure out the best plan of attack and defence for every character. It is doable to beat the game fairly. But it ain’t easy and it will test your paitence :) it tested mine for a long time.
Same I had it for Saturn, brother brought a Saturn pretty much the day it came out...had a weird one level game for it can't remember but was an adventure type woods game... anyways vf2 was enjoyed by my brother & I, never saw Dural's face though.
I live in the southern U.S, and our local mall had a Tilt. I adored that arcade. While it wasn't my first arcade, I spent a lot of time there, and it was the arcade that got me back into the 2D fighting genre, in the early 2000's, when 3D fighters were dominant.
Same with me. Arcades were the shit.
This was one of the staples of any arcade worth it's salt back in the 90s. This music, mixed with Tekken music, the Street Fighter music, and Gallaga noises were the soundtrack to my childhood.
It's amazing how much nostalgia a game can give me even when I've never played it before.
28:13 look... LOOK AT THE DAMAGE!!! LOOK AT THE DAMAGE!!!

The stories were great! XD
Those childhood stories were hilarious lol.
This is a awesome playthrough :)I like your classic stories as a kid, you had a really great childhood Gstar :) Its good to see you back making your videos again :)
13:38 approved he likes drunken characters 🥴 that includes bo rai cho
Yeah, but GStar absolutely hates Bo'Rai Cho. He's an absolute mess.
@@akviperkitty6 I no 😂
gstar you say you like drunk charcters but bo rai cho is a drunk
+sPOnGe R0n lol, you got me there ... I actually forgot to mention that when I made the video. So i'll say it here - I generally like all drunken fighters EXCEPT for Bo Rai Cho ... that guy has got nothing going for him.
+MrGSTAR321
this was may first fighting game
+MrGSTAR321 He actually makes a cameo in mortal kombat x's story mode
sPOnGe R0n yea his less fat
Im suprised he didn't get killed or something
Love your videos Gstar, keep up the good work. i really love your history behind the fighting game stuff
Remember playing this in the arcades when i was little, and played almost every game after that, still the best fighting game franchise ever made.
When i got it on the PC i would play it all day every day, remember finding almost all the moves just by trial and error, took a while till i figures the move combinations but i never exploited the AI i finished the game with just regular moves, people would use these tactics in the arcades.
WOW that's COOL! We had a Tilt arcade room in South Square Mall in Durham, NC, USA when I was growing up in the 80s and early 90s.
I'm like you. Whenever I go to an Arcade Room, I usually watch others play the games I want to play.
Usually I do that when I run out of coins, but sometimes I do it even BEFORE I play those games.
Last time I did that was when I played Soul Calibur III from the Arcade Room of my local Movie Theater.
Jacky looks like a Super Sayain!
Gangsta Mario This Was He's Best look Ever(I'm Faster than Lighting)
Gangsta Mario I Liked Sarah Lion N Kage!!!!! too as well
Yeah, he looks just like Future Trunks, and there's another character that looks just like Tao Pai Pai. Maybe the creator was a massive fan of Dragonball.
I love the story. It's easy to see how an arcade game like this can bring back memories like you mentioned.
Very happy to see you upload more MrGstar321 keep up the great content! :)
best gaming videos in youtube!
The only character I could ever beat this game with fairly without resorting to the throw trick is Sarah. Sarah ‘s got a decent palette of moves that you can at least mix up and break through the AI’s perfect defence with. Her moves have decent range to them and do a good job of catching the opponent off guard at times.
But with the others, I always get up to Kage and then Kage just proceeds to own me. And it’s not like I haven’t tried learning every characters moves. I’ve learned a good chunk of moves in this game, but yeah, Kage just breaks through everything you do...except for Sarah. Sarah I can get a clean victory with more often than not.
But for whatever reason, I can beat this game fairly with Sarah. I’ve beaten it on every difficulty level with Sarah without having to resort to the throw trick all the time.
With Sarah, I can get the hardest difficulty down to about 12 to 14 minutes now playing fairly. It’s doable, it just requires a lot patience and a lot of learning each character’s attack and defence patterns.
I laughed so hard on your gstar321 old school stories! Man.....you used your childhood better than I did....lol
You can play this in the Sega arcades of Yakuza 5 too. :)
Also Kiwami 2. Don't forget.
I got virtua fighter 2 on the xbox 360 and its really awesome.I like playing as Kage,he's really cool and got nice skills.I beat this game as Jeffry too. This game is so cool.
I love these more frequent uploads!
I truly enjoyed watching this game as Shun Di does his best kung-fu skills of drunken fist even though it's a bit funny but very enjoyable 👍🏿👌🏿🏯☯️🥴🫸🏿🤛🏿🙏🏿
Also the punch kick move sound! thats what i came looking for. Thanks for posting this
13:35 "I like the drunken characters" bo rai cho begs to differ.
1994 WAS AN EPIC YEAR IN THE ARCADES
Hey, I'm used to be obsessed with video games for a long time. I was having a hard time playing them. But I enjoyed it. First I started off Super nintendo, PS2, PS3 and for next year in 2019, I'll be getting the PS4.
Hopefully you get the ps5 now too
As a kid I used to think that Shun Di falling flat on his back when kicking was because he was old and decrepit. But growing up I learned about “drunken boxing” and realized that *that* kind of deceit was the point behind Shun Di’s fighting style.
i only dream of being as agile and fit as Shun when i reach that unfortunate age lol
My grandma would do the same when I first moved by her! LOL
I was the same way at the arcade: Skeeball don't care, Basketball don't care, whack a mole, don't care. GIMME FIGHTING GAMES!
Your grandmother sounds awesome
plot twist: Shun Di is Bo Rai Cho aged several decades.
Its great hearing from you again man! Great Playthrough!
omg two gstar videos in like a few days. im so happy! i couldnt function without you for that time you were gone XD glad to have you back man!
Love your Vids bro. The Only CZcamsr I Actually Like.
Love it when you post videos 😊
Nostalgia, i used to play this alot on Sega Saturn
Really hope we don't have to wait 2 months for another video - great work btw
I remember playing this so much as a kid when I was 7. Me and a best friend would always go between this and Alien Trilogy. I always used Pai and he always used Jacky.
Shun Di was a fucking boss. Virtua Fighter isn’t appreciated enough.
Gstar my first memories with the Virtua Fighter series was when I was ten years old and i was on a cruise ship in the arcades area and i saw an arcade game called Virtua Fighter 4 where I spent hours just playing the mess out of it and people watched me played it like crazy
15:09
That was hilariously funny.
Do you plan on playing any horror play through like cry of fear as you previously did?
1:00 wtf?

dude I love his channel he's a cool dude...like to go a round of soul caliber with you mrgstar brother lol.thank you for the personal stories too it brings back memories of my own dude..i love the arcade
Haha, that grandmother story is awesome, I was laughing :D
The music on this game was the bombs
mocap was amazing for the time. Very clean and realistic movements.
Ahhh a lovely little gstar flashback to get the old heart warmed up before the playthrough 😂
Arcade places were just narrowly before my time, I was a little young to play in the early - mid 90's being born mid 1990.
Although I fondly remember a game shop in the town I lived hosting halo tournaments on the origonal xbox (I'm reasonably sure it was halo 1, if not definitely halo 2)
Me and some mates mistakenly thinking we were good at the game formed a team and entered, teams playing team deathmatch sessions against one another via link cables in the shitty little back room of the shop. Safe to say we got absolutely dicked every game, mind you we were all considerably younger than all the other teams. Great times that just couldn't be repeated nowadays
Had good times playing this one.
Wow your description about Shun's moves involving the wine is EXACTLY what they have done for one of Bo' Rai Cho's variations in MKX's kombat pack 2. Except this game has more dignity because Shun doesn't start vomiting or farting every damn time :/
Great video MrGSTAR321 :)
"Oh it got back up, bastard" lmao I love that
Thanks 4 da vidio!! I luv u
This was my jam
"He's speaking japanese any way" lol
My gaming vice when I was a kid was Street Fighter 2. Talk about a money vacuum. :)
Nice moves, man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lau looks so much like mercenary tao from Dragon ball
PLS MAN DONT STOP, PLS JUST TALK. I LOVE YOUR TALKING!
Shun Di Vs Bo Ri Cho
Whoever wins...it's gonna be Shun :/
Same like me I would just go and just play the arcade video games
I love his stories
haha That story at the start is quite relatable
Nice vid. iya!!
Haha so true!! I used to stand and watch the old arcade machines over and over when i had no money. There was even myths about certain things to get free games for a few that.... never worked.
i love your VF video!! i also loved VF and same here I wasted 75 75!! bucks just to beat this game with Akira and Lion.
You had the same experience as I did in the 90s playing at the arcades in the states. Older kids would huddle around me while playing the Tekken or time crisis and then when I would die they would demand I get off and let them play but my older brothers would come and tell them to basically fuck off. Good times, we'll never have that experience ever again.
Tilt in Miranda?
I absolutely loved that place.
Damn fighting Dural at Atlantis had always been a challenge to me especially with the other characters. 3 out of 10 times that I actually beat her and that's by using Akira, Kage, and Jacky only.
Have you ever owned a Sega Saturn GStar?
I currently own a Sega Saturn :)
MrGSTAR321 Awesome!
Can you do a gameplay of Night Warriors?
One of the best games ever. Still play it on my Saturn.
Have you played Fighters Megamix? It's a Sega fighter that uses characters from several different Sega AM2 games, kinda like Smash Bros. before Smash Bros. What is most interesting is that, the VF characters had their VF3 move sets!
Your aiyas are awesome. The way you have to play, reminds me of mortal kombat and why I thought tekken was awesome. Trying different methods to win
Mk Armageddon ? Love to see you play that !
AIYAA!!! Go Gstar!
Virtua Fighter 4 was my childhood.
Great stuff! Do you think you'll ever do Fighting Vipers?
welcome back
Yeah theres a tilt in the Moreno Valley mall here In California (:
You know so much about so many games haha
+iLSWx I was born holding a control pad! Video games are my life!
i remember playing this during a pizza party at a bowling alley....i was beating everyone who stepped up, made them spend so much money, but after that i went from virtua fighter to the tekken series and sticked to that
I'm only here for the start chime and character select music. Instant nostalgia...
If you like Kung Fu movies watch Ong Bak. Its great! Btw are you getting Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V???
+Pero Kokic Yep Ong Bak is great. I liked Tony Jaa's 'The Warrior King' AKA 'The Protector' more though. That was a great movie with some insane bone-crunching (literally) fight scenes!
***** Hmm I haven't seen that movie. I'll have to check it out! Do you think the MK movie is good?
+Pero Kokic As for Tekken 7 or SFV, I haven't been following them. The new Tekken might sway me, but I haven't really kept up with the newer Street Fighter games.
***** I haven't really been following the games either but I'll still get them!
+Pero Kokic Yea I liked the first one, but annihilation wasn't that good. The 'MK Konquest' TV series was my fav. I love it.
14:05 he jus defeated gravity yo
you weren't talking about TILT in Miranda westfield were you? that place was the bomb!
when is MK ARMAGEDON COMES MATE? or MKX.. COOL VIDEO KEEP UP THE GOOD JOB , UR MY FAV....KEEP AUPLOADING :)
ahhhh the memories
you did welll
The only games I play when I was young was tekken mortal kombat and street fighter I only found out about virtual fighter when a friend of mine's got a Sega dreamcast And he had 2 games Virtual fighter 4 And the 2nd game was tomb raider
Virtua Fighter 4 was a PS2 game.
Gstar is right I'm really good at Virtua fighter 2 arcade but when I did my playthrough on CZcams it took 5 matches for each fighter almost it's fucked it really is and I found out the reason this games based off of real fighting styles in real life there good and it's impossible that's why vf 2 is the most respected fighting game ever
Btw Gstar, talking about Kung Fu movies, what is your favorite Kung Fu movie?
dude ive just finished watching the mortal kombat Shaolin monks walkthrough and I've been wondering if you were ever gonna do another video because your last video was posted about 3-5 months ago. im glad that your are back and wondering if u could do a walkthrough of the Warriors on ps2/xbox im a huge fan of that game your commentary and your videos man. its just great to see that you've returned to CZcams. i enjoy everything that you do on your channle. thanks for your time
