Me (GSTAR321) doing a live commentary and playthrough of Virtua Fighter 5 : Final Showdown for the PS3. I play as Goh Hinogami.
So what's different between Virtua Fighter 5 and Virtua Fighter 5 : Final Showdown? Well this one has new stages, new music, new character costumes and animations, and two extra characters (the returning Sumo 'Taka-Arashi' from Virtua Fighter 3, and the all new character 'Jean Kujo'). Also, Dural can be unlocked and played here!
Once again, this is another gorgeous looking Virtua Fighter game. It can be a bit challenging to learn, but stick with it and you will find it very rewarding! Here's hoping for Virtua Fighter 6!

My favorite fighting game of all time, grew up playing VF2 in the arcades and played almost every version after that.

The Japanese must be tone deaf / oblivious to bad English voice acting because they kept hiring the same two dudes that voice Lion and they were both fucking terrible lol. Jackie, Wolf and Jeffry are pretty cheesy as well. The rest aren't as bad but thats not saying much. Other than them, there are the Japanese voice actors which are good I guess, but thats kinda hard to detect 'bad Japanese voice acting' if you don't natively speak the language yourself.

@@MrGSTAR321 I like VF3 even though a lot of people didn't like it as much. Something about the 3D evade button made it unique from the others. You really had to rely on it to win whereas in VF4 and VF5, they played closer to traditional 2.5D games like the first 2 Virtua Fighters, with side step being minimally used unless you're playing against high tier players. VF3 still maintains a big scene in Japan competition wise believe it or not.
i gotta say, you are very entertaining. i normally dont like people who talk through the video, but you post a variety of quality content and your commentary is not annoying. thank you, and i look forward to seeing more videos.

Another nice video, MrGSTAR321! Though I've never really played Virtua Fighter in my youth, I think this game would be something I could really get into, with the realistic-style fighting, a load of unique characters and beautiful stages; even though some background songs may not necessarily be fitting for some stages, I find this to be an awesome fighting game overall. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more playthroughs of this game on your channel.
It's a great game, I highly recommend it. I wouldn't mind doing some more playthroughs of this to be honest, but we'll see.

@@ldking5132 Tekken isn't better than VF and never has been. It's just flashier, easier to get into, and has more over the top characters, which is why it's more popular. As far as mechanics and fighting engine VF>>Tekken.

Just out of curiosity--have you ever played "King of Fighters", GSTAR? Or any SNK fighting game?
I haven't played the KOF games at all. I get requests for them a lot. Maybe it's time to start getting into them? If that were the case, which one would you recommend I start with? (I gather there's quite a few of them by now haha)
The King of Fighters '98, either the original or the Ultimate Match version. Personally, I prefer the Ultimate Match version as it has all the characters from the original version, plus characters from KOF '95, '96, and '97 that weren't in the original version.

Remember when Virtua Fighter 5 came out on the PS3 without online play because the developers said it would mess with the timing? Then like a year later it came out on the XB360 with online.

Gtar I've seen you play Virtua fighter, mortal kombat, Tekken, and Street fighter. But could you please try the King of Fighters 94'. Its a great game, but also a hard one.

Jared James KOF 95 was harder, I purchased the downloadable version(along with KOF 96 and KOF 99) on the PS3(psn store) and could never beat it and up to now I still can't, or maybe I just suck but when I had the CD for PS1 I was able to beat it.
Yea KOF 95 had its insane damage. I mean 5 hits and it does 99% of your health. Omega Rugal and Saisyu have crazy ai. The ai also counters a lot especially Rugal.
Jared James yeah the damage was crazy the ai was crazy and the bosses were hard as hell. I can't even beat the game(on PS3) using Rugal and Saisyu on the same team.
Of course I wake up and check my phone to see another Gstar video, so what do I do... nothing else but watch this lol! Hey Gstar what makes you like the virtua fighter series?
I think the main reason I like the Virtua Fighter games is because of their realistic nature. The fighting styles of the characters feel real when you use them, and it's a fairly complex fighting game to learn and master too. So I guess I like the challenge of learning it as well.
I agree, after watching this it reminds me of the dead or alive series. Don't know if you've played those but they look good as well.

Speaking of Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, Sega announced an enhanced version of the game this month. This enhanced version of the game is called Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown. According to Sega, this version of the game is scheduled to be released worldwide on the PlayStation 4 on 1 June 2021, which will be the next week. Also, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is known in Japan as Virtua Fighter esports.
