Welcome to Charlotte glad folks showed you our southern hospitality. Prices are good. Just not a big fan of Bojangles it's just too greasy. I usually get my chicken from this small restaurant called US Fried Chicken..Not much to look at on the outside but, omg its so good..

Wanda, a college buddy of mine grew up in the South. His mom made home fried chicken and it was the best food I've ever tasted. Being from California, I can't imagine how awesome you Southerners have it food wise. I'm gonna have to take a food field trip!

Grew up with both. Bojangle's original location on West Blvd was an old gas station. They were known for biscuits before the chicken caught on. Huge sausage biscuits the size of hamburgers. And HOT!! Light you right up.
Price's is much tamer. You gotta bring your own Texas Pete, salt and pepper, pepper sauce cause it needs help. The liver and gizzards are stellar.
Wash all that down with - only three true Charlotte choices - Cheerwine, Sundrop, Sweet Tea. Well Pepsi has got to be in there.

They need to have more privately owned small business fried chicken places like that here in FL. Where I live we have like 10 fried chicken places and they are all corporate. That's some beautiful looking fried chicken, awesome that they give the livers and gizzards too. You cant get those any where around here any more.

You have a very powerful brand and they do all the advertising/marketing for you. You want the best fried chicken in the world? Type in southern fried chicken recipes on youtube/google and cook it yourself.

Bojangles used to offer mild or spicy way back in the day. I remember my dad always wanting the mild stuff while us kids wanted spicy lol.

By the way, the THING to get at Bojangles is their "3 Piece Dinner Meal" which comes with 2 thighs and 1 leg plus a biscuit and up to 2 sides. When it's good quality fried chicken, I like legs almost as much as thighs.

I like super thick breading. My favorite fried chicken is publix spicy fried chicken so yum. Its a grocery chain in Florida but it's been expanding for a couple years. I'm pretty sure there's one in charlotte.

They key to crispy and juicy fried chicken is to use potato starch as the breading. No flour. Just potato starch and curry powder if u like.

yishun has one, but I've got conflicting comments about it. probably becos i ate it not in their original outlet, the 2nd time i had it, it was oily, and really sickening. Gravy was subtle and the chicken was tiny (I had the whole chicken).

Love the episode, and I’ve had both prices chicken and bojangles many many times. Both are delicious but I wouldn’t compare a mom and pop joint with a chain. Love seeing this on your channel though
Randomly came across this video and what do you know? This is my hometown. I grew up to Price's and their chicken are good and they offer some prestigious sides. But.. I secretly, kind of know of a place in Rock hill that has better chicken 😊

I loved Church's chicken as a kid. I remember going with my dad to visit his parents before they passed on Sunday's. We'd stop and grab Church's Chicken. I recently went to one and was so disappointed with the quality. So dry and bleh. :/

Michigan Mister people always talking up White Castle and I remember years ago I bought a pack of their frozen burgers and it tasted horrible. Recently (2015) I went to the White Castle at the Casino Royale here in Las Vegas. Much to my surprise their burgers tasted just like the frozen ones, like crap. Meat was pale and tasted like mutated turkey. Good thing their chicken rings and onion chips were ok. I had a hard time finishing the burgers though. Honestly rather have McDonalds and their burgers are disgusting as hell.
We used to have Church's in the DC area, now if I want it when I go the Brickyard 400, there is a Church's at the track. Buy an 8 piece box and take it back to my hotel room....(For chicken that has NO taste, it's so good!)
I've never been fortunate enough to have Prices Fried Chicken, but I LOVE Bojangles! Prices would have to be pretty awesome to beat it, and I trust you. I'm with you, on the biscuits. I love the biscuits and gravy for breakfast (even if it's only once a month or so.)

I totally agree with your assessment about The South. I used to do tech support and spoke to people from all over the US and hands down, the nicest people were all from The South.
I come to Charlotte a lot and everytime i stop at prices chicken coop gotta have it...eat it right out of the fryer so darn good....one of the best

KFC is overhyped and its staffs are lazy, they fried chicken pieces in huge batch then they sell them for the whole day! Often I ordered from KFC I get lukewarm chicken pieces. Such is the pathetic standard KFC has deteriorated to today! I already boycotted KFC and only eat fried chicken from hawker centres in Singapore.
mmm yeah, it's very rare to get anything hot from KFC, I usually eat it in my car right after getting it and it still isn't hot
Where I'm from, i rarely, and i mean super rarely get soggy chicken skin and always steaming and when you order just after they open, you will get an extremely hot chicken, and i mean you take a bite and you instantly pull away your mouth from how hot it is

Sometimes it's just genetics, unfortunately we don't get to choose what genes we're born with. I heard that the air fryer machine is really good for frying with no fat at all. Might get one of those myself.

It's cool you came to my state. Been watching your videos a long time and just found this video. I live near Raleigh and have been to Charlotte only twice. One day I'll have to visit Price's. Until then Bojangles (and every once in a while Smithfield's) is the only fried chicken I eat. Btw I'm glad you tried the gizzards and livers. Most people wont try it unless they grew up in the south eating it.
