It's popular opinion because it's true. If you have never had good BBQ, you eat at Rendezvous, you probably think its great. In any other city, Rendezvous would be a decent spot. In a city famed for BBQ, it's below average. It's like traveling to NYC and ordering Dominoes. Terrible sides too.
I truly believe that Mike, if he was ever overwhelmed with food nirvana, would blast us with English heavily accented in Chinese. The question is not "if" but "when" and that's my prophecy for this channel.
Elwoods is a decent place, the ribs are pretty average for Memphis. Way better than tourist traps like Rendezvous. But the BBQ Pizza from Elwoods is the best thing on the menu.
I’m originally from California but have been living in Nashville for like 7-8 years now. You NEVER forget your first encounter with real hot chicken. My first time at Bolton’s was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with spicy food, but it’s so good!
