    Italians will put anything on a pizza -- peppers, olives, mushrooms, truffles, eggs, onions -- the only thing they won't allow is pineapple. At this point I'm 100% convinced that they don't have an issue with pineapple, but rather the fact that the pineapple pizza was invented outside of Italy.

      Have you ever heard of blending flavours together?
      Pineapple used in that barbaric way with tomato sauce and mozzarella just sweetens the pizza completely.
      It's the equivalent of adding a lot of spices to low quality meat, or other tricks to hide the flavour of a low end product.
      Some pizzerias started using pineapple on pizza, but with LOGIC.
      For example, smoked cheese that blends with the sweetness of the pineapple, or other combinations that DO make sense in human mouths

    Italian from Italy here and couple of things:
    - One classic Marterita pizza is around 7/8€ in the north and 4/5€ in the south...if you see a price higher than that for a normal margerita you know that everithing will be overpriced (usually in touristic spots).
    - The guide talked about the origins of it in a very generic way and told only the recipe for the base so, not that informative in my opinion.
    - Trancio is a type of pizza but not a classic one so you can put whatever the hell you want on it 😂
    - The truffle pizza is another type of pizza called Pizza Gourmet and its a completely different dish that is called like that just cause it resemble a pizza, still really good but yeah, not a "real" pizza.

I love how you highlighted the unique ingredients and craftsmanship that go into each type. It really shows that pizza can be both a humble street food and a gourmet delicacy. Also, the historical context and the local spots you visited added so much depth to the experience. Keep up the great work! 🇮🇹❤

    • @TheGingaWeirdo
      @TheGingaWeirdo Před 5 dny +2

      I like to eat two bites out of each corner of the crust first, and leave the center of the crust for a hand hold. Then I enjoy the rest of the slice. My theory is that with a reduced crust length right away, there is more pizza surface area to enjoy, and you won't have to fight the crust for the last few good bites. Then the middle piece of crust is devoured.

Yes, he used some of the $1,000 bottle of balsamic vinegar for the preparation of the pizza, but the total cost for the actual pizza was not over $1,000 or even $500.
