Thank you for this SIMPLE "how to." After watching another video for 4+ minutes to no avail, I was able to scan your content, go directly to what I needed, and set up my default email in literally seconds!
Gary is the best I watched five other videos and nobody had it done I watched you for three minutes and you had it done. Thanks you're the man Gary
A very useful and informative video tutorial today! I always learn so much! Happy Holiday season to you! Thank you, Gary! ❤️👏🏻
Thank you Gary it was very useful to me, like all your videos😀 👍
Wow, never ceases to amaze with teaching what I can do.
Cool information on GMail integration
Very informative
Thanks for video..
Thanks bunches
Thanks!
Finally, I changed my default email client after years. Thanks!
Amazing!
THXX!!1
Good video,
I am really happy just using Mail and Safari. The rules aspect of Mail just doesn't really have a competitor, for me.
Fantastic video, as always! I'm still puzzled about how to utilize the share feature with Outlook instead of the default Apple Mail app. Despite setting Outlook as my primary email application, the option to share via email seems to vanish when attempting to share a file (I guess Outlook does not support this function).
cool
This answered my question…I have always had,Google, chrome on my computer but after doing some reading am a bit wary…is it safe and ok to use on Mac?? Not sure what to think about it now.
Hi Gary, these videos are so helpful! When I tried to do it, that little pop up to set the handler showed in Chrome gmail, but now it doesn't. Is there a way to make it show up again in order to adjust this setting?
It is somewhere deep in the Chrome settings, yes. You'll need to look for it as I don't know exactly where off the top of my head, sorry.
Did all of you have the icon at the top to click and then accept the new "handler"?
Thank you Gary. Could you explain how to make Gmail browser default in Safari? IOW when you click on a link as you did in your example for it to open in the Gmail browser page in Safari?
No. As I explain in the video it only does this in Chrome because they are both Google products.
@@macmost Thanks for the reply. I do appreciate it. I found some older instructions that said you could do it but with a Safari Extension. Unfortunately those Safari Extension links no longer work. It is not a big deal. I can work around it on my iPad but I thought there might be a way on the Mac. Thanks again for all your videos. They are always excellent.
Is it possible to programmatically set a default email\web browser client via terminal for current\all users?
Not that I know of.
@macmostvideo what is your preferred browser?
I use Safari.
I would like to Share my Pages documents from within the document itself. When I use the main menu, I choose Share and then choose Mail as my method of sending. This brings up another screen and the email I seldom use is populated as the default and there is no way to change that I can see. Is there a way to change it? Also, I can't seem to go into the Customer Toolbar screen and move the Share button to my menu. I have to use the menu at the top of the screen, that is, the hard way. What's up with that?
You should be able to change the email to what you want. Make sure you choose "Send a Copy" and not "Collaborate" when you share. I don't understand you other question though: "move the Share button to my menu"???
Can't find any button like that on my Gmail????🙁
I still think Steve is rolling in his grave seeing the crap Tiny Tim is letting fly as of late... Thanks for the video, I was about to throw my MBP out the window!
I can NOT for the life of me find that "special little button" at the end of the URL. I've tried many times.
Not sure what you mean. Button the end of a URL?
