Great educational program for those interested in learning about early English coins. Thank you

That Charles halfgroat is impressive; not only is it well-preserved, but also well-struck, showing complete detail in the portrait, and even fullness of the beaded border on the obverse. For a hammered issue, I would say it nearly rivals Briot's milled halfgroat issue.

I got my hands on a Edward III half Groat minted in York and it just amazing how much detail goes into them

I'd trade my arms for that Charles I. Must be the best example of his coinage I've ever seen.

Brilliant, always enjoyable. You've done several videos now where you give an idea of the spending power of Saxon and Medieval coinage. Do you think one is coming for the middle ages? It would be interesting to see the comparison between the reign of Hennery VIII and Elizabeth 1 :)

Hi Gordon. Thanks mate! Yes there is one coming with prices taken from the Elizabethan era! Unfortunately there are very few published articles with prices as the years go on, so I’ll do my best to incorporate Henry VIII as much as possible 😊

@@TheHammeredCorner brilliant, very informative video. I didn't know pennies were the only coinage before the end of Edward the 3rds reign. And of course England held massive territories in France at the start of the 100 years war. Do all Edward groats have King of France in the legend or just some?

That's quite an impressive lot of coins you have there, very interesting to see the history behind it all, and that Irish penny, I don't think I've seen anything quite like it before! Keep up the good work, and "keep collecting!"

Another excellent video! I would ask kindly for a video at some point on Irish coinage as it is rather confusing, did all coins in Ireland have their own unique designs or do some look identical to coins that circulated in the rest of the Kingdom? Specifically in the medieval and renaissance coinage
