Beautiful coins. The artwork actually better than many coins of 200 years later. Thanks for a really well-written and clearly read script Luke.

Wow! That's quite the collection of Harold II and William the Conqueror pennies! Would love to have found that hoard, but suppose I'll just be finding old nails and buttons for the rest of my time!

Nice video! It's always fascinating to me to see early hoards that contain William and Harold pennies.

Great video Luke. It's quite odd that Bath are trying to claim the hoard which was found much closer to Bristol and only a few miles due south of where I live in Ashton.

We all know about being painted in bad light ,I had the same when I found the Roman licking dog hoard ,that soon stopped when I phone the person that write this about me and said I would do him for slander and defamation of character 😤

so just curious, does the detectorists that found the hoard get any compensation or credit ?

It is split amongst the 6 finders and the landowner 😁

@@TheHammeredCorner Hi Luke, great video. Can I just ask, did this all actually go through in the end? I googled around it but all the articles seem to stop in August 2019 with the Avon Corner still not having ruled on the treasure status. Did that happen and the 6 finders and landlord actually share in the spoils? Do you know how much it was bought for? Many thanks

I don't think the cut halves were bent to see if they were forgeries, cut halves bend very easily in the ground I should know I have found enough of them. Very strange why would someone bend a cut half to see if it was real 🤔when to get a cut half a full coin is cut in half and just from examining the edge you would see if it was a forgery or not. 😀. That is unless some very unscrupulous deviant made forged cut halves. 😂.
