The FTF could very well be user error, though that usually manifests as FTE from limp wristing (and it didn't look like he was limp-wristing). I have a G29 w/ KKM barrel (uncompensated w/ black nitride), and from speaking with Nick in customer service, he said that certain hollowpoints and hard cast flat nose ammo from companies like Underwood can have FTE's as a result of the less forgiving feed ramp of their full SAAMI spec chambers and recommends you have them do the "Underwood treatment" if you're going to run such ammo where they do a little extra polishing and material removal for a smoother feed. I had them do a very light treatment on mine since it's a CCW pistol and both reliability AND chamber support is important to me since I run pretty hot ammo in it.
After looking at the stock barrel and my KKM side by side with a round in both chambers, the KKM has significantly more support and after 2000 rounds of various ammo I've had ZERO malfunctions. Though probably unnecessary, I also used a touch of Flitz polish with a Dremel buffing wheel on low speed (not enough to remove any material and just enough to turn the black nitride on the ramp and opening of chamber a dark gunmetal grey) and it literally feels like it's coated in Teflon now - even without oil it's insanely slippery. I'd also recommend a stiffer recoil spring kit for your G20 (I use a 21lb kit in my 29) as that will handle hot ammo better and have the added benefit of giving you a bit more force going back into battery to help with stubborn ammo. Hope this helps, and congrats on that badass G20! 🍻

Any update on reliability? I have a 29 that I carry in the woods and shoot Underwood 200 grain Hi-Tek coated hardcast. Spoke with Underwood and they said with the Hi-tek coating it’s not necessary to run the KKM/lone wolf barrell. I want to get the kkm barrel/comp but like you said I need it to be reliable.

you may need a lighter recoil spring for the pistol to function reliably, and this is especially true when using a compensator, either that or hotter ammo higher pressure might do the trick. True it could somehow be the barrel as you stated. Just a heads up. I see someone already commented about this below but I wanted to bring it up again. Wondering if you got everything smoothed out and how its doing today.
P.S. looked like less recoil when he limp wristed lmao 🤣
