Have A Great Shave, Have A Great Day!
Geo. - Jak na to + styl
Bought a 34C 15 years ago as a teenager, still have the same one today and never wanted another - so glad I got in on the safety razor game early in life.
My 23C has been in my collection from the beginning. I eventually settled on an Ikon shavecraft 101 head as my daily driver. Great video!
Just wanted to say thankyou for vids Geo. Recently started wet shaving with a safety razor. All of your content is very helpful and I appreciate the upfront approach. Cheers from Australia.
the way you describe the razors you can sell me anything! :) no sales talk. no promises. no exaggerations. just form and function of each razor. good job sir!
Merkur is always my go to. Was a game changer the first shave I had with one.
I just got a Rockwell 6S. I have tried a few wet shaving razors prior to the Rockwell 6S. Never really got a good shave from the other razors I had. The Rockwell 6S for me has been the best experience in wet shaving. I highly recommend the Rockwell 6S.
Nice review of these razors. The Merkur 34C was my very first DE razor. My favorite now is the Rockwell 6S.
Just getting into safety razor shaving and I'm so glad i found this amazing channel! Great work sir!
I've had a number of these but the Variant has become my go-to. Highly recommend if you like an adjustable. But as always, your mileage may vary.
Just bought from your website after finding this video. Keep up the great content! It works!
Parker 96R was my first safety razor, very mild and gives me a nice smooth and clean shave, defenitley will buy more Parker safety razors in the near future
Geo, I always enjoy your videos! I hope that you have a happy and prosperous new year!
Thank You. For the review. You have me thinking to get a new razor 🪒 with your company. I always enjoy your videos. Please ! Keep making these great videos. It’s very helpful
Got the futur for Christmas. Love the weight and glide tried the 2.5 and done the job fantastically.
I have a Merkur 23C (long) and the Merkur Future. Both are great 👍 Great, perfect and smooth shave!
Merry Christmas 🎄 Geo, this was great, glad you explained that Parker fixed the issues with the Variant.
Thanks RK. Should be all good with the Variant now.
Merry Christmas and thanks for another great video. I have the Rockwell c6 and the Parker Slant myself. I use the Rockwell as my everyday razor on setting 2. I'm still pretty new to this so that lets me get a good shave with little to no irritation. So far the Parker is a little aggressive for me but I still use it when I have a few days growth.
Thanks for sharing the video, Geo. Merry Christmas!
Thanks Spectre! Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours in 2020!
Great list! Thank you!!
Ive got an old 1960 Gillette Fatboy adjustable shaver that used to be my dads. I had used cartridge shavers for years but the replacement cartridges got so expensive that I decided to go back to the old double edge shaver. It had been so long since I had used one that I forgot how easy it is to nick yourself with them. I noticed that it makes a difference in which blades to use and for the ones I have tried the Gillette blades seem to work the best. I haven't tried Astra or Feather blades yet but may do so one day. I set my shaver on 5 and that gives me a close shave with less chance of nicks than on 9 but nicks are much less common now that I have gotten used to it.
Thanks for Uploading. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thanks Bruce! Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours in 2020!
Great Top 10, Geo! Merry Christmas!🌲
Thanks Mike! Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours in 2020!
Fantastic video! Great explanations throughout.
Thanks!
Started with the DE89 and landed on the knock off Futur (the QShave). I think I might have a go at the actual Futur. Love the style of the razor, and the versatility. Agree that the only problem is hard to reach under the nose with it, but can it gets easier with a little practice.
Happy holidays to you and your family and everybody at shave nation. I just ordered two Parker razors from you today. This is my first purchase from you. I've been watching you since you start making videos. I'm very excited to purchase some stuff from you.
Hi Steven. Happy Holidays and all the best to you and yours in 2020. I know that your razors did ship out today! Thank you for your support.
Another great video about razors I own five of them already would recommend them all. Merry Xmas Geo and keep the videos coming in 20/20
Thanks so much Peter. Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours in 2020. I'm geared up to pump out lots of videos in the year ahead.
I love my 34c! Feels good in the hand and on the face!
34C The Work Horse of the Shaving Industry!
6 years ago I ordered the Edwin jagger de89 after watching your video of it’s use. Still using it to this day and have enjoyed wet shaving since. Thanks Geo have a great holiday and new year!
Good choice, that was a great version, paired with a good soap and badger brush. They’ve recently updated the design of the head slightly and produces a slightly more aggressive shave.
Wow! You def got your money's worth out of that razor. Gleaming Chrome Baby!
@bigbadb10 Depends, how long does a cartridge last you?
Id say most people change their blades once a week or every 3-5 shaves. Some people do it longer but for .10 cents a blade (depending on brand and what your face likes.) Its still dirt cheap.
bigbadb10 lol hey if gillete does go out of business I’m definitely switching to a safety razor I might even buy one very soon seems like they will definitely go out of business soon a lot of people seem to dislike them

I appreciate your no nonsense presentation. I hope you put more comparison vids out. Worth watching if you want to know differences between razors. Started with merkur 34c, have tried multiple others and keep coming back to the 34c. It's simple, it works. Been using the same one since 2012. 7 years later and still find no complaints with it. Ymmv. Nothing more needs to be said.
Thank you sir, your comment made me buy 34C and I am satisfied. Cheers!

Thanks Geo.... Great video... Thanks for your help with my Rockwell razor!
Thanks Doug! Enjoy you're Rockwell.
Sorry for the delay..."Merry Christmas and a HAPPY New Year"...to you and your family...a big hug...Bye bye
Merry Christmas! Love the video and the store!
Thanks so much DrRon. Merry Christmas to you.
Good review as usual 👍
Really enjoyed it Geo. Thank you.👍
Thanks Brian!
I hope that you and your family have a great New Year. Thanks for teaching me how to shave with a safety razor.
Thanks Vigilius! All the best to you and yours in 2020!
I would like to thank you very much for showing me how to shave properly and save me so much money on blade's I am 60 years old and would like to have seen these videos when I started shaving again many thanks
I have a Merkur 34C since 22 years and still it serve me as it's new. I have tried Edwin Jagger, Muhle and Parker but always ended with 34C. Muhle and Edwin Jagger are upto the mark for me but Parker is pathetic. Thanks.
Great video! My favorite that I use every day out of your review list is the Rockwell 6S. It gives you so many options on aggressiveness that you really don't need any other razor. Great for every day or every seven doesn't matter.
Hi Johnny. Adjustable plates and stainless steel-A winning Combination. Enjoy.
Great video bro. Merry Christmas
Thanks so much Scott! merry Christmas to you!
Thanks for all the informations. Greetings from Germany.
Great info with an east coast vibe 😀
Great video. You could make other videos just like this one for DE blades, brushes etc. Merry Christmas , Geo !
Thanks Nick! More like this to come! Thanks for the comment.
Love your video reviews. Subscribed due to both your production quality and candor when reviewing products.
I started shaving with a DE safety razor about a year ago. Made the switch from cartridges and my face is glad I did. Use the Merkur 23C on a daily basis. I like it. Bought a Parker 98R Super Heavyweight thinking that’s what I wanted next. Was way too heavy and slippery in my hands. Also too aggressive for me to use on a daily basis.
Am considering another purchase to step up from my Merkur 23C. Have watched A TON of reviews. Although it’s pricey, will probably pull the trigger on a Rex Supply Co. Ambassador in the next month or two as a Fathers Day or B Day present to myself.
What do you recommend to be my next purchase?
Good information. Thanks!
Nice video Geo 👍🏻
I think people who are calling for the inclusion of the Muhle R41 have missed the point of this being HIS list of favorites.
Agreed! The R89 and the R41 are great razors but Muhle has not been able to supply them to us so they were left off the list. All the razors ON the list are in stock for same day shipping at ShaveNation.com
Just got my R89 Twist a few weeks ago from SN. Geo's recent video on it being his favorite had me wanting to try it. I'm not disappointed in my purchase at all.
@@geofatboy Can we buy in Shavenation if I live in México? I listened that in that page I can buy everything of good quality for shaving, soo I can buy if I live in México???
Cheers
Peter
No it's not, it's a list of the favourites that he SELLS AT HIS STORE. His personal favourites may, or may not, be included in this list.
@@donaldoxley1222 well why wouldn’t he sell his favourites😂
geofatboy...hells yeah bro! happy new year!
Thanks Shave Cave! Happy New Year to you and yours.
34C is my daily driver...LOVE IT!
34C-Excellent razor and the Work Horse of the industry!
Good to see you again Geo.
Thanks Thomas! All the best to you!
Thanks geofatboy merry Christmas to you
Thanks Champ! Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours in 2020!
I think you've taken price into account in the making of this video, it's very appreciative really. All the razors you've presented are reasonably priced, a lot more people can take your advice into account and thus get into the wetshaving world much easier.
A lot of these top 10 lists have razors like the Rex Ambassador and Karves and the lot which are roughly 200$, while are undeniably nice to use, have a hefty price point and thus lock out a large segment of the wet shaving customer base and discourage beginners.
Although it would've been nice if you mentioned that the 6S has a cheaper variant which is the 6C, and shaves similarly, but one is stainless steel and the other is Zamak
But again, much appreciated
yeh i have it. love it. there is also a 2c which only has one head plate.
@@Baggereeno I have the 6C and it shaves so well for $50 I haven't seen the need to upgrade to the 6S. Besides, I have too many other razors to begin with! LOL
Thank you Yazan. You are correct. I tried to keep it limited to popular razors ready to ship at Shave Nation and all within a reasonable price point. Glad you noticed and thanks for commenting. Most newcomers aren't going to jump in with a $250 razor.
I bought a Merkur 34c and I found a lot of play in both the blade exposure on both sides and also non parallel blade seating. This can be corrected if you adjust the blade while tightening it down but it's a pain to do every time I clean and dry the razor after each use. Maybe I just got a bad copy but other people have noticed the same thing. My Edwin Jagger is better but the best spot on that I have is my Rockwell 6C. Perfect, drop in the blade and good to go. I might be too picky but considering the small price difference the Rockwell is the better bargain and it has six levels of aggressiveness too.
Thank you ! Outstanding
I started with double edge razor to save some money on the cartridge razor shave. But the real factor was boring lockdown. So started with a King C Gillette double edge safety razor then I saw your channel and tried a mercur 34c later switched to 37c doesn't feel much changes so tried Muhle r41 Grande and I found it's good for me but I didn't stoped and tried a rockwell 6s it's good quality razor but doesn't glide on the skin. So brought another stainless steel razor Feather D2. Now my plan is to use a straight razor. Appart from razor, I brought so many brushes also. Started with omega boar brush then Kent vs70 brush then a muhle rytmo pure badger petrol blue colour brush. Now I got a Parker silver tip badger with olive wood handle, it's a very good brush. Apparently to save some money on the cartridge replacement I spend a lot of money. If any one new in to wet shaving try feather D2 with Parker olive wood silver tip. Best blade is feather original or one with Japanese inscription. I am a vegan so doesn't explore much with shaving soap other than glycerin soap. The moral is wet shaving is really an addiction.
Happy holidays, Geofatboy!
Thanks Spitz! Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours in 2020!
Merry Christmas Geofatboy. καλά Χριστούγεννα.
Pfaristo Thierry! Merry Christmas and all the best in 2020!
Are you both Greek? Bravo i am Aussie Greek :)
Happy New Year Geofatboy
Hi Samir! Happy New Year to you as well.
I just started with a Wilkensen Sword. I really like it a lot. What do you recomend for a short handle with a butterfly?
Rockwell 6S favorite razor by far. Pretty much keep It on four which is perfect.
I use my rex ambassador more bc I like the mechanicalness of it and its new, but not as good a shave
Well done! Thanks.
Great vid Geo.
Thanks so much!
I’ve been saving with a safety razor for many years. Just bought a Jaeger.
I love my Rockwell 6S. It's good.
Thanks for the video and Merry Christmas to all.
Thanks Sergiy. Enjoy that 6S! Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours in 2020!
Good video! Thank you!
Great video, the Muhle DE89 belongs on that list.
I'm with you but Muhle has not been able to supply us. All the razors on the list are in stock and ready to ship at ShaveNation.com
Another great video Geo, the DE89 is just pure class, I prefer the early 2010’s head design, it have a nice smooth shave even paired with a Feather. I have just fallen in love with the FaTip Grande, especially when paired with a Gillette 7 O’Clock. However I’m thinking of getting the Futur. Happy holidays and all the best for 2020.
Hi Sam. Happy Holidays and all the best in 2020. Those are 3 awesome razors! Great shaves ahead for you in 2020.
What about the R89 / R41 from Muhle ? i use both. quite amazing ones
Buon Natale Geo!🇮🇹🇺🇸Merry Christmas
Buon Natale Maurizio!
@@geofatboy 👍👍
I love my Merkur 33 c and my Merkur 15 c Open Comb!✌️
I've got three of the ones you listed. Merry Christmas Geofatboy.
Thanks Rick. Merry Christmas to you and yours and all the best in 2020.
Merry christmas geo! thank you for sending a personal note with my girfriend arielle, that was one of the best christmas gifts i have ever gotten ! Have a great shave, have a great day!
Hi Jad. I'm glad I was able to help brighten your day a bit! Enjoy your new shave gear. Merry Christmas to you and Arielle, and all the best in 2020.
I got the 3one6 and it’s the razor that I use every day. I have lots including straight razors but for me this 3one6 just rocks it every time . Now I’m not buying razors that much but I’m trying different soaps and aftershaves/preshaves ...... it never ends lol but why should shaving be a chore and why not take those few minutes and spoil yourself !
please make a video on top 10 single edge razor and pls. do review them according to their aggressiveness.....
Looking for great razor blades to use when I shave my head any good recommendations?
I have the Merkur 34C. Nice mild razor. I don't have the Rockwell 6S, But I have the Rockwell 6C. Less expensive, but nice shaver. And I have a Parker 94R. Nice stubby razor, smooth. :)
I like my one blade - it gives a first rate shave , I have quite a few examples of DE razors and they are all good razors I guess it all comes down to personal preference
Great video, Between the Parker 22R and the Gillette King C which one? I want to steer clear of the 5 blade cartridge and move to safety razors. I also have an electric Panasonic but those things can't shave the neck area, Thanks; )
I absolutely love the Merkur 34. I decided to treat myself to the gold 34G, but it's the same razor as the 34C just gold instead of chrome.
Exactly! Enjoy them both!
Merry Christmas geofatboy
Merry Christmas Scott and all the best to you and yours in 2020!
do you like the 3 piece better then the twist 2 piece or butter fly better?
As for wet shave beginner(though more than 2 years, everyday mild shaver I am), which one do you recommend for me? Among interchangeable Rockwell 6S, 6C, adjustable Merkur futur, progress, Parker varient, or Merkur 34C?
I have a question if there is a razor I have that gets dull over time. Or needs to be fix Does your company Re-polish the razor. Or redcoats the razor. Do you offer that ?
Thanks. When I get some cash I want to check out one of these.
Great to watch
Thank James!
Got a Merkur razor in the early 1970s. I still use it. Still looks new. The only thing I changed was the blades. Eventually, I determined that. Feather brand blades were probably the best. @discovered shaving, cheap! Is the best way to go!
Agreed on the Feather blades!
Awesome video Geo! Gonna forward to a friend!
Thanks very much! Merry Christmas to you and the family up there in the Great White North form Uncle Geo!
Tried the Viking , Edwin jagger. Merkur 34 c hands down.
Thanks Geo, can you make Top 10 leather shiving
Whats does the numbers mean on the adjustable merkur futur when you say more aggressive does that mean the closer the shave like the lower the number the closer the shave??
What about r89 twist? You had another video where you called it either your favorite or go-to razor. Was that some time before?
I am currently shaving with the Oneblade Core and I think it is much better than cartridge blades. Their blades don't come cheap, however, and I am looking into DE razors as my next solution. I really love the design of the Manscaped the Plow 2.0 but there are not many reviews for it out there. Would geofatboy or anyone here recommended it over the Merkur long handle? I don't dig the short handle design at all. Thanks
I like my Bluebeards Revenge with the skull on it . I think it's an EJ 89 maybe but it's my main
I am new to shaving what is a good razor for a beginner. I dont have much facial hair but i am hoping as i shave ill get more.
whats the best for sensitive skin?
Happy Christmas GFB :-D
