frankie arrieta
Thanks much Frankie!
Naahlidge!

I agree
you prolly dont care but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid lost my account password. I love any tips you can give me!
Fatherless men everywhere thank you for teaching them what their fathers should have.
I was about to type something similar XD
And men with dads that taught them to shave, but with crappy disposable razors.
I used those for way longer than I'd care to admit.
@@peatlatakia6308 I started shaving with disposable razors and my dad just bought me a safety razor one day and I never noticed the difference in technique, the only difference that I noticed is a nicer shave without the razor burns
@@peatlatakia6308 and men with dads who didn’t teach them or buy them there first razor
Dont recall my father teaching me. I assume he must have. Of course he used then, and still uses, bic disposable 2 blade razors.
"disgusted by the high cost of multi-blade cartridges" why I'm here.
Amen to that!
The companies charging so much for blade cartridges are definitely feeling the backlash from the fed up people they’ve been ripping off for decades. They deserve any decline in sales they have coming to them.
Made the change, never going back! #DESHAVING
Just checked his shave nation prices for blades, will stick with amazon, as well less. Never going back to disposable ..priced to high.
I'm a teenager and use a safety razor. Even my grandfather uses a cartridge
I use feather blades, and when I was in the army, I routinely got 15-20 shaves per blade. I dried them and stored them in a bowl of mineral oil after each use. Never had an issue with dulling
Great tip-Thanks for sharing!
????? 15-20???? WOW! I had no idea they could last that long. At what shave were you looking forward to installing a new blade? I am getting 6 daily shaves from the Feather and then install new blade. Mostly because I didn't think it could last much longer. I may have to rethink my method. Thanks for your post!
Thank you sir!!! This is the knowledge us young bucks wanna know! We all need more army stories in our lives. Feather blades it is 👍
Thank you for your service!
I'm a service plumber and we do remodels sometimes, and I've always wondered why we find DE blades in the walls of the bathrooms we take care of, thank you, you just cleared up a huge curiosity I've had for years, lol
+justin mackey
Thanks much! I've seen pictures of piles of spent blades at the bottom of a wall cavity. Guaranteed there was a slot directly above...
I seen this before in a building built in 1945 they had a slot in the inside medic cabinet to dispose of blades i had no idea until i removed the medicine cabinet 100s of them
@@johnhamre990 The house I lived in had two bathrooms with medicine cabinets that had a slot in the back, that is where I would dispose of my used blades.
Disposal slots were common in hotel bathrooms. Fifty-plus years ago.
Perhaps they thought putting them in a bin was a risk for them, other people in the household or the dustman?
I like how he seems perfectly normal the first 8 minutes or so and then all hell breaks loose and he starts decapitating cans with the goddamn saw...
And with his hand clearly in the path of destruction!
And then demolishing a house with an excavator just to find old blades disposed of between the walls. 😂
Saw?
I remember my dad, when I was very young, had left the blade on the cake of soap. I didn't notice it and picked up the soap and proceeded to cut my hand all over the place as I tried to soap lather my hands. An experience I'll never forget. Yes, definitely watch out for where you leave the blades especially with kids around.
I got little ones, and I am paranoid about putting my blades a safe distance from them at all times.
9:43 "If your beard is too coarse for DE blades, try one of these"
*****
Lolz! Of course I had to stop it ay 9:43 to see what you meant! Great Caption David!
Thanks.
Chuck Norris beard is so tough he has to shave with 10:06
I'm 51 and just started using de razors, and I don't regret it at all.
Take care from Montréal, Québec
This man is a life saver we need more people like this on CZcams
Nick shaves, Kevy shaves, PaulH Films and many more wet shavers are here.
I love how you give a safety-tip about not trying to snap 2 blades at once, and then proceed to angle-grind a can while holding your hand directly underneath the spinning disc.
Stay safe homie.
Yep-30+ years in the trades you learn what you can and can't do.
30+ years of angle grinding cans didn't do you any good, the cut still looks shit.
Sure hope you get to keep your fingers in the next 30!
@@yomommah 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I still have my father’s 9 way adjustable Gillette safety razor from the 40’s. I intend on buying a a few safety razors and getting back to using it. I took my fist shave with it almost 40 years ago.
This guy is amazing. He needs his own tv show.
He does. It’s called CZcams
Thank you for the great content! I stumbled across your channel looking for straight razor beginner tips and ended up sticking around for other interesting videos like this one. Have a good one man!
Finally a good blade comparison video, I'm new to wet shaving and couldn't find a decent one, thank you!
Have been DE shaving since 2014 and love it. I have used many of he blade shown in this video with great success.
An "old" video (but not that old) and packed with information. Thanks for posting. Just getting back into DE shaving after 40yrs and I find pretty much all of your videos interesting.
absolutely loved the extra time you spent demonstrating the gangsta blade disposal! free, yet priceless!
To the point. Informative. And even a little history lesson. Great vid!
THANKS great history and tutorial of safety razors
I'm calling BS on the, "Less pulling and tugging on your wallet." My wallet is a lot lighter after 11 different razors, 40+ soaps, and 10 different brushes lol.
Dan Lutter
Lol! I catch your drift!
If you can restrain yourself, you can save money with a safety razor!
It's much more fun trying all different razors, blades, soaps, and creams. though!
+Dan Lutter Amen to that, it will take me 30 years to recoup what I have been spending. I must admit, I love every minute of it and I especially love going to my mailbox and seeing what package has arrived almost daily. Plus, the wet shaving community is filled with great people, truly a great bunch of gentleman.
Tony Marinelli I feel the same way.
+Dan Lutter Well, I figure it is about $240 for a year of cartridge razors. $8-$20 for a year of DE razors. So I can spend about $220 ish a year on my RAD before I call it a problem. Plus that doesn't cover the money saved on soap vs goo. ;)
You can still save money with one good razor, the right blade, and inexpensive, but good, soaps and creams. I understand the desire to try new products also, but there are so many good ones, reasonably priced.
Thanks for the tips. Im new to DE razors and especially learned how to dispose of them
congrats man! The most original, complete and brilliant DE video tutorial no YT. Thanks a lot
Geo, I love your videos. I was in my early twenties when disposable multiple blades became popular and I threw away all my wet shaving razors (I sincerely regret doing this). After years of razor burn, irritated skin going from trac ll to 6 blade cartridges I progressed from razor burn to ingrown hairs. Out of desperation I tried double edge and eventually straight razor shaving. I have never looked back!! Thank you for your tutorials and reviews they have been very helpful in making wet shaving an enjoyable daily routine!!
this is one of my favourite videos on the internet
Wonderful video, I really appreciate you and your channel. I’m 37, I’ve been double edge shaving since 2014, with the Merkur 34c.
I soon bought a Shavette that takes single edge blades, a Dovo Bismarck straight razor and an expensive strop.
Last week I purchased the Merkur Futur in Chrome.
It’s been an amazing journey, and feel ashamed of my Mach 3 and Fusion days 🤦🏽♂️ Lol.
Once again, great video, much love from Cambridge UK.
That was a nice, very well thought out presentation.
Very thorough and interesting! Thanks for the great video!
Wow, really in depth video. Tons of information, thank you
Bless you geofatboy
Thanks a lot. Very informative and useful
Thank you so much for this video.
Been meaning to switch to a safety razor and I've done some research.
I believe your videos are the best out there. Subbed.
Love the video. Very informative and entertaining. Thanks!
I cannot believe how good this video is, thank you so much
Thanks Jose-I spent a lot of time putting this one together!
Thank you for the video. Education
Very helpful!
Very informative.thank you.
great , this was a very good presentation, thanks
I have just made the move from cartridge shaving to DE blades. This is a very useful video with some decent info i'm going to use from now on. Gonna get me a sample pack!!
Decent video always find your stuff informative.
The Multi-Pack is great for the beginner of DE Shaving. After going through the various brands I found the Persona Platinum worked best for my beard. It takes time and a few DE Blades too find the one that fits you. Happy Shaving.
I like this break down you give in regards to the blades. Keep these videos coming along. Good information you give out.
Thanks Albert!
good stuff thank you for all off your videos
I do believe you covered everything there is to know about DE blades. Nice job.
Thanks Frey!
I remember when I was a kid we lived in a house that was built in the early 1920's and in the bathroom over the sink it had a little slot where you could throw away your old double edge razor blades.
Ahhhh, the good old days!
Wait seriously?
Superb video!
I’m in my 30’s so I remember using the old disposable razors that had zero swivel. After a decade or more of using cartridges $$$$/Red ingrown neck hairs I went to Safety razor- in an instant my irritation was gone. My muscle-memory of using those non-swivel disposables came right back and I knew how to shave at the correct angle- the #1 MOST difficult thing & only (haven’t cut myself yet & I’m hairy) is finding the best blade!!!! This took me forever and is why I kept giving up in the years I’ve owned a safety. The dull crappy blades are ubiquitous - they’re at every drugstore/grocer - go with online quality blades. Feathers are amazing.
Great comment Tom! This will get reposted elsewhere!
Thank you for this video, much appreciated!
Thanks Philly!
I got into wetshaving from that infamous Gillette Ad. And I realized that shaving with my newfound love of my 1959 Gillette fatboy with Taylor of old bond street is my favorite tools so far. I’m still figuring out brush and preferred Razor. But I no longer get ingrown hairs, razor burns and saving a lot of money now.
Thank you!
Great video.
Glad you liked it!
nice tips, thanks for the video!
Great video, thanks Geo
A lot of old school medicine cabinets actually have a slot for razor disposal. Never thought of making one myself, that’s a great idea 👍🏼
Altoids box for used blades.
Good info
I like the numbers on the blades I use the 1-2 side for the first part of the week, then flip and use 3-4 for the remainder of the week, just so I know where the sharpest side is!! The blade can't wear down unevenly, but it does get dull, hence, why I will flip mine!! Thanks for posting!! Cheers!
beautiful vid, very informative.
Thank you veryyy much! I learned lots from this!
Really informative, also derby is in my experience the best
I like the way you went with this and teaching
Thanks Norman!
Thanks for a nice video Geo.
Your a righteous individual that ja for the informative video
I like this guys videos
Im struggling to get a good shave with a safety razor. But i love the process and the razor. I think i need feather blades to get through my rough beard! Merkur blades werent doing itThank you for that list at the end. Over all. This was a great video. I learned a lot!! Thank you!
Great vid, great info.
just got one of these. excited to use it
Which one, and how'd it go?
the vikings blade by julian vue. so far so good!
Awesome video with lots of useful information!! Thanks a lot man and greetings from Italy!!
Francesco Biamonte
Gracie! Ciao Francesco!
I love this guy
Nice video! Very informative
Awesome video Geo!
love your vids, did watched the merkur 15c shaving without bar and..... that was sick 🥶
I got one more excellent tip from you on disposing the razor blade. Wrap the old blade in the wrapper off the new one. I will still put them in a cigarette box. The only difference this time they will be wrapped in the paper
Double Safety!
One of the earlier videos :) Good vid, learned everything I know about shaving here.
geofatboy. I have been watching you for two years my friend. I started shaving with safety razor in that time. I want to thank you, and learned allot from you.. Soon I'll be ordering Feather product from you.. Keep up great work..
+Joshua Plummer
Thanks Joshua!
My grandfather used to put his in the slot in the back of his medicine cabinet. Cabinets came with the slot. I've have two safety razors for 30 years. It is very true that the care of the blade determines the life of the blade. He also had a way to clean and sharpen the blades to extend their life.
I really appreciate your video. The pros against modern shavers besides the price and especially how to dispose of used blades in a safe way. I got myself a cheap Wilkinson Classic DE Shaver and am more satisfied than my Gillette Fusion shaver.
You have helped a lot I just bought one and I've had this smooth shave ever and you're hilarious with the hole in the wall but it's a hell of an idea two thumbs up
Th Justin
Thanks! Glad you got a laugh out of it!
Th Justin He wasn't joking. Medicine cabinets used to be made with a slot in the back for razor blades. They just dropped into the wall.
Cool Idea
Glad you think so!
I started shaving with a safety razor and I'm happy . No more expensive 3 bladed disposable razors. The blades are so cheap for safety razor. I bought 100 on amazon . Your video is very informative and helped me. More men should go to the safety razor or expensive disposable blades
Awesome video! I cant wait for my merkur 38c to come in with my 40 pcs ade sample pack!!
fantastic video
Thank you! 😃
thanks for the info
i am new in this
Cool video
I got the MANSCAPED safety razor. I like it. Also got a lather bowl and brush.
I like your sense of humor geo
This was a great video full of info! I love the part about the disposal in the wall void!!
Thanks!
great video geofatboy
Thank you-This one was more like an epic!
9:42, I thought he was gonna shave with that!
Awesome video. Geo is the best!
Great video.
Thanks Hasan!
Hey geo Awesome video just placed my order and asked for blades for beginners. Got my order and you said you would have video up soon 10 minutes later I checked and here it is! Perfect timing thanks again! Love the videos will be placing another order soon!
If anyone's looking to buy any products shave nation is the place to go great customer service !
*****
Thanks Casey,
I remember writing that note! I was hoping the video would be up when you got your shave goods. It worked out great!.
Interesting video GeoFB. I got sick and tired of those expensive and gimmicky plastic razors about ten years ago and purchased a Merkur 34C HD razor and settled on the Gillette Silver Blue blades for my best BBS shave! Now I look forward to shaving as well as experimenting with different shave creams and soaps. Love all your great shaving videos. Thank you!
Great video Geo. I usually wrap the old razor with the new wrap myself but I find others to use an old can or tic tac plastic but I'm thinking about using an empty vitamin bottle just to play it safe for the garbagemen. I got a sample pack of the different razors and Feather is amazing and Im currently using Gilette 7 o'clock (green) and it seems to skip a little bit the two shaves I've used.
Great info Geo and loved the history.
9:39 is my favorite part!
drmatt357
Thanks Dr Matt!
Yours truly in the Superman shirt, sporting night-time riding/safety goggles, holding a blade disposal can with a skull and Crossbones on it! Yep, I did that!
Great video, good job putting it together. Thumbs up from me!
Hey ! Thanks for this video. It’s very helpful in how to pick. I will take that advise. Sample pack. Good 💡 idea.
Thanks Albert!
thanks alot
Wow you could make a razor blade museum!
A structure made out of blades would be cool!
Awesome!!!
Excellent vid Geo.
