1:53:45 was a glitch where if you're in a 2 turn attack and paralyzed on turn 2 the game leaves you in an invulnerable state, it's both why Body Slam missed, and It did the "wind up" turn again, just Gen 1 being Gen 1.

@@StarmenRockGen8 was actually a very fun game to play with good music and cute character designs with only one map looking sub-par. Legends was also a fun spin-off people loved immensely regardless of the graphics.
Gen9 is pretty buggy, yes. It's easy to just crash the game walking around. But when it works, there is something that is fundamentally good. Everyone agrees that just exploring and catching pokemon feels good in S/V.
Could they be better? Yes, easily. But they are still good

Fun fact: In gen 1 if you switch out of toxic then switch back in it becomes regular poison.

Also if the opponent is Toxic'd and you hit them with Leech Seed the Leech Seed drain also increases every turn.

I've come to appreciate more and more the GB/GBC 3rd party DLC's. I got this game, crystal clear, red ++, bronze 1 and 2, fools gold, and silver and gold 97 reforged lol. I mainly play the GBA ones, but being 5 when Red and Blue came out, my child mind melts seeing what they can do to one of my first ever video games. Thanks Asprey, you're my favorite CZcamsr/streamer. Please don't stop being who you are ✌️

Actually, I don‘t think that was the 1/256 glitch.
I think what happened there was another gen1 glitch. When you are underground and get fully paralyzed, you‘re attack gets interrupted, but you remain in the invulnerable state for the rest of the battle. From there on, the opponent can‘t hit you anymore.
Gen1 is really, really broken…

I am so intrigued by this series. Seeing a remixed version of the original games that expands the maps and updates the movesets of everything is absolutely brilliant :O Kaizo seems inspired.
As it turns out, There is a tool that shows you Pokémon's stats in real time for gen 1! Channel Scott's Thoughts uses it for his solo playthroughs.

@45:00 Badge Boost Glitch boosts the stats by 12.5% each time but resets if you level up. Since stat exp. is disabled, it may not reset in this game.

Pidgeot carried my very first team in Yellow. Used it through E4. I forgot how fond I was of those birbs.
Pidgeot is great, but i love Dodrio. Drill peck, tri attack, body slam. Though you don't get one til quite a bit later on

@@ext93 Dodrio was always my favorite bird pokemon in Gen 1. It has a great moveset, is not quite as tanky as Pidgeot, but as a physical attacker it's the strongest Normal/Flying pokemon until Staraptor in Gen 4. I never liked that in Gen 2 you couldn't find it until Kanto, when training anything new to the team requires a lot of grinding.

Apparently Magnemite line can learn Explosion by TM in Gen 4-7 and Breeding in Gen 9. I could've sworn I read Magnemite could learn it by some ridiculously high Level, but maybe it was Seedot I was thinking of (like 43 or something in Gen 3?).

@@kinnikuboneman Pokemon has so many moves, it's hard to keep track. Especially since I didn't play many of the games when they were new (except Gen 1, I was playing it within six months of US lanuch), so I was first experiencing many of the games for the first time together in the mid 2010s. So they all kind of blurred together.

Its funny because his Pidgeot is indeed a female for the "momma bird" and despite it being his strongest pokemon has really bad attack with 1/15 DVs in attack

What’s a badge boost?
Before Gen 4, certain badges boosted certain stats outside of multiplayer by a certain amount. In Gen 1 and 2, it's by 12.5%, and in Gen 3, it's by 10%.
Where on Earth does your chat pull their numbers from? Badge Boost is 12.5%, it's always been a 1/8th increase in Gen 1. Who said it was twenty percent? It may have been changed for Kaizo but I can't find any info on that, so I can only assume they mean regular Gen 1 games. I guess it's true what they say, only three things are guaranteed in life; death, taxes and Twitch Chat getting all their facts wildly incorrect.
Twelve and Twenty are kind of similar, it is possible for autocorrect or just a mild brainfart to have them type the wrong word
Crystal Clear was the best to Nuzlocke imo; my fave game until Legends Arceus and Scarlet came out!

There's only so many Moonstones in the game, he is not sure if he wants to use Nidoking, and stone evolutions stop learning moves, so it's better to grind it as a Nidorino to see what it learns
