Growlithe evolving to Arcanine is really good in crystal kaizo. Great stats, plus Extremespeed has increased damage attack from 80 to 100 I think (If not 120), as well as I think 10 PP instead of 5.
I used Arcanine for most part of my run til the point where you start needing legendaries to beat the Elite 4

@@thelegacyofgaming2928 my point was that it’s even better in Kaizo than the vanilla games :)
Firstly cause Growlithe learns Flamethrower at level 36 and not 50 so you can use fire stone and access Arcanine much sooner, as well as extremespeed has a higher attack of 100 in Kaizo instead of 80 in vanilla Crystal plus having 10 PP instead of 5.
In vanilla Crystal I prefer for example Charizard, but in Kaizo I prefer Arcanine over Charizard as a fire type
I saw the first one in the recommended and watched it almost immediately. It probably helps that I play a lot of these videos since they are good background noise while I work.

I think that union cave encounter rate was mean to give you enough exp for that silver fight. Sheesh
The Heracross thing is actually not that differnt than vanilla Gen2.
Heracross trees only appear in "Mountain areas" and the first headbutt tree in a mountain area (i.e. the first area that could possibly have a Heracross tree) happens to be after union cave around Slowpoke well.
They did not have to change anything to make that restriction happen.
However it's possible that your ID unfortunately makes that this area does not have a rare encounter tree (with Heracross).
You think the dragon scale's bad, you should see how they screwed up how some of the apricorn balls work.
Love ball: supposed to have an improved catch rate against opposite gender pokemon, but actually has improved catch rate against pokemon of the same gender and species.
Fast ball: supposed to have improved catch rate against pokemon with high base speed or will attempt to flee battle, but actually has increased catch rate against grimer, magnamite and tangela.
Moon ball: supposed to have improved catch rate against pokemon that can evolve with a moon stone, but actually has increased catch rate against pokemon that evolve with a burn heal.
Level ball: has improved catch rate against pokemon of lower level, but doesn't take the pokemon's lost health or status condition into account.
Yeah Heavy and Lure balls are the only ones really worth going for. Friend balls work but they're only found in the area before Mt. Mortar.

I don't know how long it would have helped but didn't he pick up a couple Awakenings? It could have been one of the few instances when they're useful.

@@daninda1665 I thought he mentioned only not being able to use Revives in battle, though it would explain why he didn't try to heal while PP stalling the Wobbuffet.

I've been working my way through this hack and it's brutal. It's hardly fun, honestly. Just got to Goldenrod with only one Pokemon at level 30 and I can't go any higher because it won't obey, but the first trainer in Whitney's gym starts at level 35! Wtf am I supposed to do?
How does the trade evolution Pokémon work in this ROM hack?

Just to point out... no, I was _not_ recommended Crystal Kaizo ep1. I clicked this thinking it was the first episode (didn't notice the 2 in the corner.)
Now I see it in the sidebar, but it never showed up on my feed, and most of your stuff does.
I was notified of the first one when you released it. Though to be fair, typically there's an asprey video playing in the background and I periodically check to see if there's a new one on the channel regardless of notifications because sometimes it gets drowned out by other notifications and disappears on me.
That said, great episode as always Christian!

@@kinnikuboneman according to ratio, it looks like people want that. I would like that. Not all of twitch chat is awful, jokes aside.
If it was streamed on twitch he would have to hardcode chat into the video which would be really annoying as it permanently obscures the screen or takes away space and the gameplay would be smaller.
Also it's really a ton of work adding that in manually (we are talking several hours per video for the editing on top!)
So better to leave it as is tbh.
