I don't know why ppl are saying you are over leveled. Where you're at in the game the recommended level is 65-70 if anything you've been playing way under leveled so I get you props for playing on extra hard mode
Exactly.. he's nowhere NEAR where he should be at during this point of the game.. My Dodrio is level 68, Venusaur 61, Haunter 43, Magneton 71, Still deciding between Starmie, Seadra from the Cerulean trade, or Dewgong for STAB against Lance

It's unfortunate you didn't get Snorlax, the chat was lying. Snorlax is super good in this, just bear in mind it's super slow, will eat up your healing items. Heck, it starts with Selfdestruct, and eventually becomes basically TOO good thanks to a certain move it learns at a VERY late level.
Although many Pokemon have a catch rate of 1, that means basically nothing if you give the Pokemon a Status. The Paralyze/Burn/Poison thing not working, you're thinking of Gen 2. Gen 1, it boosts the odds of catching the Pokemon by a flat 12/256 no matter what Pokemon you're catching, and Sleep/Freeze boosts it by 25/256. The 256 becomes 200 with a Great Ball, and 150 for Ultra Balls, meaning a Sleeping Pokemon gives you a flat 1/6 boost in catching ANYTHING with an Ultra Ball
This episode was basically "I'll tell who the real King of the Sea is" for me.

Something to know is that if you go into Crystal Kaizo (The one made by SHF), is that the early game Gastly in Sprout Tower and Union Cave have Explosion.

@@hucklebucklin Yep, but the Gen 2 catch rate for Gastly is... Not bad, but not good either. You're more likely to lose 3 Pokémon in a row from 3 separate Gastly's.
But it would negate them exploding.

Not getting Snorlax may be one of those bigger blunders. It's one of the most used Pokemon competitively. Id assume kaizo will try to force you to use it

I never even knew about the path around seafoam originally. I always just surf from pallet town 🤔 I figured that's how you are supposed to do it. They even block the other route off in some of the remakes etc right?
1:02:08 Reportedly missing the Pokemon is the Gen 1 equivalent of 1 shake in other gens. Isn't the success animations in later generations three shakes and then the star click? (I want to say Gen 2 and 3 didn't have the click, at least)

1:02:38 It's Gen 2 where Paralysis is bugged and does nothing (I don't know if Poison or Burn ever affected catch rate). In Gen 1, Sleep, Paralysis and Freeze have predetermined catch rates, so I recall that with an Ultra Ball, using one on a Sleeping Pokemon has a 1/6 chance to catch anything (even legendaries) and Paralysis/Freeze a 1/12. I do remember using that when I did a run of the English and Japanese Green/Blue/Yellow games.

I didn't know there were only 1 of them, but luckily taught both to clefable, who I'm planning to bring to the end, so it's not all lost 😂🙏
